Oh, help me, doctor Jones

Specialized in games about killing Nazis (a theme more than necessary in these times we are living), MachineGames promises that this time we will have at least twenty hours of gameplay, considering that the Wolfenstein could easily be fifteen and this is “by far, the longest” they have made. But personally, in the last interview they gave, I am left with another piece of information.

And the thing is, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will have four hours of cutscenes, or in other words, like two of its movies combined. Let’s hope the story is really good and not more like the recently released fifth installment. We will know very soon, though: it will be released on Xbox and PC on December 9th, although it will probably achieve mainstream success when it comes to PS5 at the beginning of next year, already with fame and critical acclaim.

Four hours of cutscenes, dozens of puzzles to solve (which we can leave to repeat later) and a good handful of hours of fun and straightforward gameplay, killing Nazis everywhere? Sounds like the type of game for which this industry was invented. And if not, we can always go back to the beginning of the saga with Raiders of the Lost Ark. Well, in fact, there’s no need to play something that doesn’t convince us. There are things that always go down well.

QuakeCon 2024 has been announced, and could it bring us the announcement of Quake 6?

After being held in person again last year, QuakeCon returns to the Gaylord Texan Resort, and there’s a potential surprise: the announcement of a new Quake.

The QuakeCon is an annual convention that has been taking place since 1996, where conferences are held, id Software franchises such as Doom and Quake are promoted, and a massive LAN party is hosted where players are invited to bring their own computers. One of its highlights is the annual Quake tournament. And while it is true that from 2019 to 2022 it was exclusively held online, last year it returned to the Gaylord Texan Convention Center, as it has been doing since 2017.

At QuakeCon, it is normal for them to also talk about the future of id Software franchises. Last year they revealed a new and improved version of Quake 2, made by the people at MachineGames, who are currently working on Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. And precisely because of this game, we know that they may present the next installment of the Quake franchise at this event.
