The third season of Star Wars: Visions has arrived on Disney+ with a mixed reception, polarizing fans of the iconic saga. This new volume, which includes prominent anime studios such as Production I.G, Wit Studio, and Studio Trigger, explores a wide range of styles and narratives, reigniting the debate about what truly constitutes the Star Wars universe.

Disconnected from the classic?

Although the series has been praised for its innovation and experimentation, many episodes seem disconnected from the traditional essence of the franchise. For example, The Duel: Payback and Child of Hope have been highlighted as examples of how innovation can occur without betraying the central narrative of Star Wars. In contrast, episodes like The Song of Four Wings and Yuko’s Treasure have faced criticism for straying too far from the expected identity, generating frustration among the purists of the saga.

The most ardent followers feel that episodes like Yuko’s Treasure, which features a talking teddy bear, and The Song of Four Wings, with its questionable stylistic elements, could alienate the fan base by breaking the internal logic of the Star Wars universe. This type of visual element, while potentially appealing, raises an essential question: where should Lucasfilm set the creative boundaries?

The series aims to be a laboratory of creativity, but it is essential that creators maintain a minimal connection to the fundamentals of Star Wars. With the arrival of this season, a broad debate is anticipated about what fans expect and what Star Wars really is. At such a delicate moment for the franchise, Lucasfilm could benefit from establishing clearer guidelines on the identity of its iconic universe, thus ensuring that the series remains a space for experimentation while not forgetting its roots. Star Wars: Visions promises to continue generating passionate conversations while solidifying itself as a divisive phenomenon in the fan community.

Star Wars: Vision confirms the release date of its third season

Disney and Lucasfilm have confirmed the highly anticipated third season of Star Wars: Visions, which will be released on October 29 on Disney+. This new installment will return to its roots by focusing on the world of anime, featuring prominent Japanese studios such as Studio Trigger, WIT Studio, David Production, and Kamikaze Douga, among others. The studios are responsible for creating fascinating shorts that explore the vast universe of Star Wars from innovative and fresh perspectives.

A series of shorts that promises to be spectacular

The season will feature nine shorts, many of which come from the same studios that contributed to the first season. One of the most exciting aspects of this new installment is the confirmation of sequels for the acclaimed shorts The Duel, The Village Bride, and The Ninth Jedi, which left intriguing open stories in the previous anthology. This decision to continue popular narratives demonstrates the creators’ commitment to providing content that resonates with fans.

Particularly, The Ninth Jedi, which was one of the most acclaimed shorts, will have an exclusive anime that will premiere in 2026, providing fans with a narrative expansion that promises to thoroughly explore its promising premise. This focus on story development could open the doors to future projects inspired by Star Wars: Visions, depending on the success of this experiment.

The arrival of a trailer and more details about the season are anticipated in the coming months, which has generated excitement among fans, especially those who have found in Star Wars: Visions a more creative facet of the saga. Meanwhile, viewers can catch up with the first two seasons, which provide a rich background for what is to come in this innovative journey through the Star Wars universe.

Cyberpunk 2077 has an incredible redemption story. Things got worse over time, after an absolutely disastrous launch. It was revealed that the developers themselves didn’t want to release it in that state, but were pressured by their bosses. It seemed the game was beyond redemption, but with time and a lot of effort, they managed to turn things around. Today, it is an appreciated game that has shown that a bad launch can be redeemed—especially if you make an excellent anime.

Although they cannot confirm who will make the new anime, we have a trailer

The finance chief of CD Projekt has given good news during Netflix’s Geeked Week 24 this week. Confirming that Cyberpunk 2077 has reached 30 million sales, it seems that the game has achieved its long-awaited redemption. Its expansion, Phantom Liberty, managed to sell 8 million units, demonstrating that there is a very interested community in the game.

This has been emphasized by Nielubowicz himself, who highlighted the figures as spectacular. In addition to noting that the game will arrive on Mac devices in 2025, which they expect will continue to increase those figures.

Although the big news was, without a doubt, the fact that Cyberpunk 2077 will have a new anime series. After the enormous success that was Cyberpunk Edgerunners, last September Netflix approved at least another anime project in the same universe. While it has not been confirmed if the project will be animated by Studio Trigger (the company that made Edgerunners), it seems logical to think that given the success of the relationship, it is the way to go. With Netflix involved, however, it’s never certain.

With nothing more than a brief teaser that doesn’t show any kind of anime image, we can only wait for more information. The only thing we currently have confirmed is that a second part of Cyberpunk 2077 is in development, and they aim for it to be more authentically American. That, and that we will still have to wait a few years for it to see the light of day.
