Although many believe so, this next-generation Vice City is an unofficial project. Created by modders who know what they’re doing, this GTA can be the gateway for those players who couldn’t try it at the time.

This week a new video (with gameplay included) of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Nextgen Edition has been shared, giving us a first look at the new mechanics and visual improvements of the unofficial remaster of the game.

The new images, shared on YouTube a few days ago by Revolution Team (the team behind the mod that aims to recreate the classic entrance of the series in the Rage graphics engine of GTA V) show the mission All Aboard!, with some new mechanics that are not found in the original.

What is the Nextgen Edition of Vice City

With graphics that maintain their unique style, even in its updated version, it seems that the Nextgen Edition will be the true definitive edition of Rockstar Games’ classic open-world game.

As we have already mentioned, the total conversion mod Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Nextgen Edition will recreate Vice City in its entirety in the Rage Engine of GTA V.

The mod will include all the content from the original game’s story, visual improvements, and additional fixes, including those introduced in the game’s Definitive Edition, which as a whole left much to be desired.

We’ll have to see if Rockstar takes action, which wouldn’t surprise us at all, since a few weeks ago they had problems with their sister studio Remedy, for using an “R” as a logo.

Either way, this next-generation GTA seems worthy of trying out once it’s released, both for those who didn’t play it back then and for those who want to relive one of the best stories in the GTA saga.

The co-creator of GTA has announced two new intellectual properties

The co-creator of GTA has announced two new intellectual properties, and although neither of them is a video game, it has our curiosity

Dan Houser, co-founder of Rockstar who left the studio on March 11, 2020, is making headlines these days. If yesterday we told you that he had signed two important veterans from his former company for his new venture, Absurd Ventures, today he has decided to continue dropping some information about what they are working on. Although it’s not related to video games, it’s likely to eventually materialize into video games.

Because today, the names of the two new IPs and the media in which the first projects of Absurd Ventures will begin development have been announced. The first one is American Caper, a comic drawn by the British artist Simon Bisley —known for works like Lobo or Sláine—, which will focus on “two normal and severely damaged American families in a world of corrupt businesses, inept politicians, and clumsy crimes.” The second one is named A Better Paradise and it will be an audio fiction of twelve episodes in collaboration with QCODE Media, described as an “existential suspense thriller set in the near future.”

Although neither of the two projects has a specific release date yet, the idea is for them to appear at some point in 2024. Additionally, Absurd Ventures intends to develop the universes where these stories take place across more formats and platforms. Therefore, it’s expected that, if successful, these narratives will extend beyond their initial stories and, who knows, possibly evolve into some form of video games.

In fact, this is something that Houser himself has emphasized. Stating that this is a way of storytelling that allows them to introduce universes while working on other iterations and expansions, he has concluded that this is just the beginning of something larger. And coming from one of the masterminds behind GTA, we believe him.

Netflix continues to bet on video games, and the next one is GTA?

Netflix is looking to continue growing its business, this time collaborating with one of the biggest in the video game world: Rockstar and its famous GTA

Although Netflix is a giant in the audiovisual industry, it has primarily focused on series and only secondarily on movies. Video games have been a very tertiary interest for them, and while it’s true that it’s working out for them, it doesn’t seem like they have dedicated a particularly intensive effort to it until now. Or at least, it didn’t seem like they were doing so until now. Because Netflix has decided to take another step in becoming the go-to space for games on phones and tablets.

According to a journalist from The Wall Street Journal, Netflix is reportedly seeking to license significant third-party properties to complement its interesting but still modest catalog of in-house video games. This move mirrors what they have been doing with movies and series from the beginning but hadn’t explored much with video games until now.

This interest, as conveyed by the journalist, revolves around bringing a specific franchise to the platform: Grand Theft Auto. However, Netflix’s interest doesn’t solely lie in having the franchise’s games on the platform. According to the journalist, Netflix is in negotiations with Rockstar, the creators of GTA and part of Take-Two, the company’s owners, to launch a game under the GTA license. This development goes beyond the wildest expectations of many gamers.

This wouldn’t be far-fetched for Netflix. Not when they have the financial clout for such negotiations and, in fact, they have been steadily expanding their gaming platform. With games like Squid Game, Wednesday, Black Mirror, and Sherlock Holmes already announced, along with a triple-A game in development by a new Californian studio, Netflix is going all-in in the gaming world. Whether they’ll manage to secure a definitive foothold is something we don’t know yet, but given Netflix’s track record, they certainly have the potential to pull it off.

Gearing Up for a Digital Heist: NetEase Challenges Take-Two with Potential GTA Anime

Project Mugen is a game that merges the best of GTA and Genshin Impact to create what could be the definitive anime aesthetic game.

“GTA is a game that has undeniably left a significant impact on the world of video games. Despite this, very few studios have dared to try to imitate it. GTA has such a distinctive identity, and its position is so dominant that very few studios dare to venture into similar territory. Aside from the Yakuza series and exceptions like the remarkable Sleeping Dogs, hardly anyone has dared to create their own version of GTA. And even fewer have succeeded. But that doesn’t stop China from diving into creating its own rendition, albeit in its own unique way.”

Project Mugen is what would happen if we blended anime aesthetics, a futuristic setting, and all the elements we love from GTA. A living city where freedom of movement is paired with combat missions reminiscent of a game like Genshin Impact is what Project Mugen promises. It’s self-described as an open-world urban RPG. From what the trailer shows, it appears to be a perfect fusion of GTA and the classic Asian mobile games that have risen in popularity, much like mushrooms after the success of Genshin Impact.

This game is being developed by Thunder Fire Studio under the umbrella of NetEase Games, one of the major giants in China alongside Tencent and HoYoverse. The game is announced for PlayStation 5 and will, in fact, be a console exclusive for Sony’s machine, in addition to being available on PC, iOS, Android, and cloud-based systems.

However, we won’t have to wait long to learn more. Project Mugen will have a streaming event on August 24th, coinciding with Gamescom, where more details about the game will be discussed. So, if you’re curious about this anime-style GTA for mobile devices, stay tuned, as next Thursday we’ll receive more information about what to expect from it.

From Underdog to Overlord: V-Pet’s Steam Triumph Over GTA – Here’s How!

Probably the first time that in Europe we heard about a virtual pet was the Tamagotchi, thinking that it was a passing fad. Almost 30 years later, here we are, with the V-Pet.

The history of virtual pets probably dates back to 1975, when advertising creative Gary Dahl launched a “pet rock” on the market. It was literally a rock. He sold 1.5 million and became a millionaire. In fact, today each pet rock costs $20. In the field they cost you zero, mind you. Probably the first time we in Europe heard about a virtual pet was the Tamagotchi, thinking it was a fad. Almost 30 years later, here we are, with the V-Pet.

Overnight, a free app on Steam has made the leap to the top almost unintentionally: it’s not even a game, it’s more like a kind of Tamagotchi in the form of a teenage girl in anime style asking for different things (but mostly case) while in the background. Perfect to entertain you in the most boring day-to-day tasks, wow.

It’s actually a simple ad for a game that is currently in early access, ‘VUP-Simulator’, in which you play a content creator who must gradually improve her career, from her setup to her type of videos to a better camera or more powerful equipment. If you are not interested in the game, don’t worry: you can still use V-Pet without any problems.

And you’d think that the hardcore Steam audience would be annoyed that it’s in the top positions, right? Well, rather not: the vast majority are extremely positive reviews and those that are not blame it on the fact that in some programs, such as ‘League of legends‘, they can ban you if they suspect that you are using third-party content. On the flip side, the highest rated review gives it a ten for exactly that.

The V-Pet phenomenon may pass tomorrow, but there will always be virtual pets, from ‘Nintendogs’ to ‘Digimon‘. And the nice thing is that even the most hardcore ‘GTA’ gamers have ended up embracing the simplicity of a little character with two hundred moves that advertises a game that, really, nobody cares too much about. What’s the point.

GTA 6 Leak offers confirmation about the city we always suspect

GTA 6 is shown in a new leak, this time showing a police chase in which the protagonist tries to escape from the forces of law.

We are all eagerly awaiting the release of GTA 6. Even without a specific date, we are all hoping it will come out around 2024 or 2025. That doesn’t mean that things aren’t gradually coming to light. After all, last year a generous amount of gameplay footage from the game leaked online, which, although in a very early state, allowed us to have a first glimpse of the most anticipated game of all time. Of course, Take-Two Interactive was quick to make it disappear, but almost a year later, it’s reappearing on the internet. And it shows us some very interesting things.

What does it show us? For example, police chases. With the female protagonist making an appearance, we can see in this short clip how she has to escape from two police cars chasing her closely, not letting her get away so easily. And

The original user is now banned

The user responsible for leaking all these small videos, which are packed with content—such as a party at a strip club or what appears to be the protagonist’s first hideout—is seeing most of them being taken down from X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, due to copyright claims. This gives legitimacy to the leak, making it seem genuine, although we should exercise caution. Take-Two Interactive might be taking action due to this person’s association with them using the username RockstarGTAVI, and they could consider it as spreading false information. This user is banned now, but we have the screenshot

Whether true or not, this is something yet to be confirmed, and we must remember something important: this is a very early version of the game. GTA VI will look significantly different, and likely better, than what we see in these videos. Therefore, we shouldn’t worry if it doesn’t meet our expectations. Or if we haven’t yet seen all the things that the developers have already confirmed will be included.

Waiting for the news about GTA 6

With that said, it’s expected that GTA 6 will be released sometime in the next year or the following year for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S. There are rumors suggesting that it will be showcased at some point during this fall, and if that happens, a 2024 release can be anticipated. Historically, there has been a short time between the announcement of GTA games and their release. Either way, only time will tell what will happen with this highly anticipated game.

Red Dead Redemption’s Return is a disappointment beyond you think

Red Dead Redemption returns to consoles, although it does so in the way we least expected it, and let’s be honest, we least wanted it.

Not long ago, thanks to the Korean rating agency, we learned that the original Red Dead Redemption was making a return. We didn’t know exactly in what form, but we had a clear wish. A remake or remaster for the new generation or a PC version was the ideal scenario, allowing us to relive John Marston’s bittersweet adventure. And our prayers have been answered. But perhaps not by the divine.

Rockstar Games has announced that Red Dead Redemption is coming to Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 on August 17. Handling this new conversion is Double Eleven, a studio familiar with the original work: it was founded by former Rockstar developers in 2009.

Steam DOWNLOAD

The problem lies with Double Eleven Studios, a support studio, which doesn’t exactly have a good track record when it comes to successful console releases. They’re behind technical flops like Fallout 76, Crackdown 3, Rust, and Minecraft Dungeons, which raises concerns that this version might not be the definitive edition of Red Dead Redemption. Adding to this the disastrous state in which Grand Theft Auto Trilogy was released, we have more than justified reasons to fear a potential debacle.

For those unfamiliar with Red Dead Redemption, it’s an open-world game set in the final days of the Wild West. Originally released for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on August 17, 2009, it was followed by a highly popular sequel for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on October 26, 2018, and later for PC.

This new version of Red Dead Redemption will cost €49.99 on the Nintendo eShop and PlayStation Store. If you prefer a physical edition of the game, you’ll have to wait until October 13 to get your hands on it. Furthermore, the game will include several new translations, including Latin American Spanish. A positive detail amidst what is, let’s be honest, not exactly the game version we were hoping for.

Heartbreak for GTA San Andreas Fans as Rockstar Shuts It Down

A group of entrepreneurs decided to open a Cluckin’ Bell and a Burger Shot, the fictional restaurants of ‘GTA: San Andreas’ for a few days. The problem was that neither Rockstar nor Take Two had a clue.

The plan was perfect: taking advantage of San Diego Comic-Con, one of the places with the highest number of attendees in the world this weekend (and undoubtedly with the most video game players in its ranks), a group of entrepreneurs decided to open a Cluckin’ Bell and a Burger Shot, the fictional restaurants from ‘GTA: San Andreas,’ for a few days. The problem was that neither Rockstar nor Take Two had any idea… And for whatever reason, they didn’t take it well.

Failin’ Bell

The situation isn’t new: last year, the same organizers opened a Cluckin’ Bell before Rockstar’s legal services noticed. It was meticulously crafted, filled with references to GTA, but it lasted only as long as the five days of the convention, and no one found out who was behind it. This year, unfortunately for gamers, they noticed very quickly.

The restaurant Smokin J’s BBQ and Boyworldwide, a fashion brand from Las Vegas, had teamed up again after a small national tour to give another nod to ‘GTA: San Andreas’ and, at the same time, make more money during a weekend when everything in San Diego, from the shabbiest taco stand to the themed ‘Sonic’ restaurant, cashes in big time. After receiving a cease and desist order, they had no choice but to shut down.

Well, in fact, they will: next weekend, they will open the Cluckin’ Bell with a different name, “Don’t Cluckin’ Tell,” presumably to try to cover the expenses of the pop-up that never was. Although it hurts all of us, the truth is that Rockstar‘s position is understandable: nobody likes others to profit from their work, after all.

The good part? They’ve given them a golden idea to promote ‘GTA VI,’ if the studio wants to take advantage of it. They just need to bring out all the merchandise they have, a couple of Cluckin’ Bell aprons, and embrace the fans. And this time, without the need to shut it down prematurely.

Bizarre Robbery Fail: Florida Man’s Hilariously Stupid Attempt to Rob a Phone Store

A Florida man shows us that a cardboard box is the worst thing we can wear to cover our faces to rob a store

Robbing a store with a cardboard box covering your face is not easy. Just ask the man from Florida who attempted that in Miami Garden this Saturday. While covering his face with a cardboard box, he managed to steal 19 iPhones and $8,000 in cash. However, he encountered a problem. It’s quite difficult to see anything when you have a cardboard box on your face, so he had to lift it multiple times to see what he was doing, allowing the security camera of the mobile store he was robbing to capture him in glorious high definition.

The store owner, shortly after, began asking around the shopping area where his business is located if anyone had seen the thief, discovering something obvious. That someone so foolish couldn’t have a good plan. Because the thief was still in the area, drinking with his friends at a nearby liquor store. This led the store owner to call the police, who would arrest the thief shortly after, closing the saga, reminiscent of GTA, of one of the dumbest heists we’ve seen in a long time.

Could we see the passage of time from ‘Red dead redemption 2’ in ‘GTA VI’?

We can’t stop thinking, patiently, how Rockstar will have improved its open world ten years later

It is the most anticipated game of the decade. After the success of ‘GTA V’, the second best-selling video game in history (only behind ‘Minecraft’), we can’t stop thinking, while we are filled with patience, about how Rockstar will have improved its open world ten years later. Especially after the giant leap they took with ‘Red Dead Redemption 2’, which can serve as an indicator of the future of ‘Grand Theft Auto’.

The evolution of safe houses

There are as many ‘GTA’ players as there are copies sold. There are those who just want to complete the missions and the story, those who go straight to the online mode to get into mischief, those who use it as a way to vent their anger and, of course, those who even relax by driving back and forth with the occasional shootout. The more possibilities there are to enjoy a video game, the better.

Don’t you remember Franklin’s house in ‘GTA V’? Always so lonely, so empty, so un-homey, so, deep down, unreal, at least compared to the Var Den Linde clan camps in ‘Red Dead Redemption 2’ that could grow and be customized. Sure, there will always be those who make the joke that ‘GTA’ can become ‘The Sims’ of crime, but if one day you don’t feel like shooting and committing robberies, you will surely appreciate the possibility of turning your adult game into ‘Animal crossing’ for a moment.

After all, in ‘GTA Online’ there are already some scenarios that feel alive and change over time. It is another option: if we cannot personalize our house, at least see how the passage of the missions has made it change together with us. Being able to start in a seedy slum and end up in a mansion, but always have it be our home, without having to move. At this stage of generation, it is the least we can ask.

One of the most beautiful things about Rockstar’s Western game was to see how, little by little, the houses that were initially just scaffolding ended up being built, we will be able to go through and see setbacks in the meantime, including some constructions that will remain unfinished. Why not take it to ‘GTA VI’? Businesses that open and close, places that are demolished and rebuilt, blood that does not come out of the asphalt… The passage of time reflected not only in safe houses, but in life itself.

After all, there are few things better than turning on your console and feeling like you’re part of the game. There’s no need for everything to revolve around you: the fact that each non-playable character has his or her own separate story makes it more interesting, more beautiful, more engaging, more unique. It would be strange if, after the attention to detail of ‘Red dead redemption 2’, its big sister didn’t follow in its footsteps. Fortunately, there’s less and less time left to check it out…
