Although many believe so, this next-generation Vice City is an unofficial project. Created by modders who know what they’re doing, this GTA can be the gateway for those players who couldn’t try it at the time.
This week a new video (with gameplay included) of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Nextgen Edition has been shared, giving us a first look at the new mechanics and visual improvements of the unofficial remaster of the game.
The new images, shared on YouTube a few days ago by Revolution Team (the team behind the mod that aims to recreate the classic entrance of the series in the Rage graphics engine of GTA V) show the mission All Aboard!, with some new mechanics that are not found in the original.
What is the Nextgen Edition of Vice City
With graphics that maintain their unique style, even in its updated version, it seems that the Nextgen Edition will be the true definitive edition of Rockstar Games’ classic open-world game.
As we have already mentioned, the total conversion mod Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Nextgen Edition will recreate Vice City in its entirety in the Rage Engine of GTA V.
The mod will include all the content from the original game’s story, visual improvements, and additional fixes, including those introduced in the game’s Definitive Edition, which as a whole left much to be desired.
We’ll have to see if Rockstar takes action, which wouldn’t surprise us at all, since a few weeks ago they had problems with their sister studio Remedy, for using an “R” as a logo.
Either way, this next-generation GTA seems worthy of trying out once it’s released, both for those who didn’t play it back then and for those who want to relive one of the best stories in the GTA saga.
