With this modification, the bosses’ projectiles are doubled, bringing chaos and difficulty to extreme levels.
Why have one enemy when you can have two?
The bosses in Hollow Knight are known for their unique combination of demand and precision, making the addition of a second doppelganger a considerable challenge. Although this mod is not recommended for a serious experience, the community has found it to be a source of fun. Prominent players like CrankyTemplar, who has already defeated all the bosses without taking damage, have shared videos of their attempts facing these new duels, showcasing both frustrations and moments of humor.
To use Skong Boss Doubler, players must install the BepInEx mod framework, available through the Silksong Nexus. However, some users have reported download issues from the Nexus mirror, although the mod can also be accessed from GitHub. The arrival of these types of modifications has sparked an interesting dialogue between players and creators, emphasizing the creative dynamics that develop around the game.
Previous modifications also allowed for cooperative multiplayer in Silksong, but Skong Boss Doubler goes in the opposite direction, proposing multiple bosses at once without concessions. As the community continues to experiment with these tools, a future is shaping up where mischief and creativity are essential to the gaming experience.

In the world of video games, creative challenges know no bounds. A recent and surprising example comes from HandowShandowed, a content creator on YouTube who has managed to synchronize the gameplay of Hollow Knight and Hollow Knight: Silksong using a single controller, but playing the Rock Band drums with his feet. This challenging approach has generated great interest in the gaming community, who eagerly follows his feats.
Difficult for some, trivial for others
Since his first video on September 17, HandowShandowed showcased his skill by facing the initial bosses of each game: The Moss Mother from Silksong and the False Knight from Hollow Knight. The ability to quickly switch between the two characters demonstrates impressive dexterity, although the gameplay can feel somewhat awkward at times. HandowShandowed claims that “this is how video games should be played,” emphasizing that, despite the complexity, he hopes to continue perfecting this incredible feat.
His additional videos have seen HandowShandowed facing more challenging enemies, such as Relics and the feared final boss Radiance from Hollow Knight. However, the creator acknowledges that these attempts are becoming increasingly difficult. In the description of his latest video, he states that “it is likely to only get more complicated from now on.”
The community is attentive to their upcoming feats, and fans of Hollow Knight and Silksong can subscribe to their channel to not miss their innovative strategies. With evident dedication and a sense of challenge that inspires admiration, HandowShandowed is paving a bold path in the world of video games.

More than two weeks have passed since the release of Hollow Knight: Silksong, the highly anticipated successor to Team Cherry’s acclaimed metroidvania. However, the arrival of the title has sparked an intense debate within the gaming community regarding the game’s difficulty and its balance in relation to the progression of the protagonist, Hornet.
For those who don’t get frustrated quickly
The co-founders of Team Cherry, Ari Gibson and William Pellen, have shared their thoughts on this topic. In a recent interview, they explained that the biggest challenge in Silksong is due to the inherent characteristics of Hornet, who is inherently faster and more skilled than the Knight. Therefore, the enemies have been designed to be more challenging and cunning, thus raising the level of difficulty from the start.
To address the criticism, the study released patches that have slightly reduced the difficulty in the early stages of the game, while maintaining the challenge in other areas. Pellen indicated that the team’s strategy was to elevate all enemies to be at Hornet’s level, rather than weakening their abilities. This results in moments of pronounced difficulty, but also offers players a wide freedom to explore and take different routes within the level.
Team Cherry has emphasized that Silksong allows players to avoid direct confrontations, offering opportunities to learn, gather tools, or even evade certain challenges. This design structure gives players constant options on how to approach the game, which can mitigate the experience of difficulty, allowing those seeking a challenge to decide how they want to progress.
Despite the patches introduced, the developers have no plans to make radical changes to the game’s difficulty, highlighting their commitment to a design that rewards exploration and learning rather than forcing direct confrontations. The community, divided but passionate, continues to discuss these aspects, while Silksong continues to capture the attention of thousands of players around the world.
The launch of Hollow Knight: Silksong has marked a significant milestone in the video game genre, reaching over 3.2 million copies sold on Steam and nearly 1.5 million downloads through Xbox Game Pass. The release of Hollow Knight: Silksong has marked a significant milestone in the video game genre, reaching over 3.2 million copies sold on Steam and nearly 1.5 million downloads through Xbox Game Pass. These figures are especially impressive for an indie title from a small production team, reaffirming the great interest generated by the Hollow Knight franchise.
It is already one of the most successful games of the year
According to estimates from the analytics firm GameDiscoverCo, Silksong has outsold other titles in the Metroidvania genre released this year, selling 69 times more copies on Steam than the next best game, Shinobi: Art of Vengeance from Sega. This commercial impact highlights player loyalty, as 79% of those who purchased Silksong have also played or owned the original title, Hollow Knight, which has sold over 11.4 million copies on Steam.
The six-year wait for the release of Silksong has significantly contributed to its reception, but the true driving force behind this success is the recognition of the original game. The fan community, estimated to be between 20 and 30 million people, has shown great enthusiasm for the sequel, and 22% of all Hollow Knight players on Steam have already purchased this new installment.
Although Silksong has performed exceptionally well upon its release, analysts point out that this phenomenon is not entirely comparable to other video game launches due to its highly specific and dedicated fan base. As experts comment, the success of Silksong should be conceived more as a gift for a fervent audience than as a new standard in the evaluation of releases within the video game industry.

Since September 4, the launch of Hollow Knight: Silksong has captured the attention of hundreds of thousands of players around the world. This title, one of the most anticipated in recent years, has caused significant congestion on digital platforms, where fans were trying to get a copy of the game and immerse themselves in its vast universe.
Difficult, very difficult, but not impossible
The size of the map in Silksong is colossal, allowing players to spend dozens of hours exploring every corner of the environment. Completing the game without aiming for 100% will still require a considerable investment of time, highlighting the rich experience this metroidvania offers. To facilitate exploration, the developers have implemented an interactive map tool, which proves to be an invaluable resource for players.
This interactive map shows the different areas of the game, as well as important points of interest, allowing players to plot strategic routes. Among the features of the map, it includes the location of relevant NPCs, vendors, stations, and of course, collectibles. Players will be able to search for crests, lost fleas, mask fragments, and silk hearts, key items to complete the adventure.
Additionally, the map highlights the rooms that house the bosses, allowing players to adequately prepare for these encounters that will take many attempts. This focus on the accessibility of information demonstrates the developers’ commitment to creating a smooth and immersive experience, encouraging players not only to complete the game but also to enjoy every facet of their exploration.
In summary, Hollow Knight: Silksong has positioned itself as a masterpiece of the genre, embracing a community eager for discovery and excitement. The combination of its vast world and useful tools promises to keep players intrigued for a long time.
Silksong has been the talk of the gaming world since last week. To be fair, it has been for much longer, but understandably, it has intensified since its release. Silksong has been the talk of the gaming world since last week. To be fair, it has been for much longer, but understandably, it has intensified since its release. With everyone playing the game, it has quickly become one of the most popular games of the year. But while it is true that it has delighted most people, there is a growing rumor about a potential issue with the game: they may have gone overboard with the difficulty.
Although we do not support this perspective, we understand that there are people who find it to be a much more difficult game than the original. Or a difficult game, period. It is a demanding game and at certain moments, it has some design decisions that can be questionable. But that has also led one of the most vibrant communities in the video game world to jump in and fix what they consider, if not broken, at least improvable: the modding community.
If you are waiting for a mod to reduce the difficulty of Silksong, the reality is that there isn’t one. There are already many because, as expected, modders have found many things they want to tweak in the game.
Among the top 30 most popular mods for Silksong, it is important to remember that the game was released less than a week ago at the time of publishing this article, all of them help in one way or another to reduce the difficulty of the game. None change the game’s aesthetics or add elements from the original game. The most popular, aptly named No Double Damage, prevents enemies from taking away two masks per hit instead of one, which is one of the most common complaints among the community. And ShowDamage HealthBar, the second most popular, brings back one of the most popular mods from the first game. Being able to know how much health enemies have left, whether they are bosses or common enemies.
Surprisingly, or not so much for those who have played, the third most popular mod has nothing to do with combat. The game’s exploration is much more refined in Silksong than in Hollow Knight, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t have some issues. For instance, the Compass, an item that allows us to know our position on the map, takes up a relic space. A tremendously questionable design decision by Team Cherry which is solved with the Always Have Compass Effect mod so you don’t have to suffer from not knowing where you are at any given moment.
Some less popular mods, but you will like them too
If none of these mods make your life easier to progress in your adventure, you might want to consider taking a break, going for a walk, and coming back when you’ve disconnected from the game. Sometimes that’s all it takes to internalize what we’ve been doing so far and finally have all the pieces click. But in the meantime, let it not be for lack of options to modify the game to your liking.

All online video game stores have collapsed at the same time. Steam, the Nintendo Store… All of them have fallen due to the Silksong effect. After so many years waiting for its arrival, to the point of becoming a meme and with a very dedicated fan community, how could it not succeed spectacularly? Team Cherry has scored another hit that will provide enough profits to wait another five years for the third installment, and no one doubts that Hollow Knight is one of the most resounding successes of the last ten years. However, it wasn’t always like this.
This is not going to work
Hollow Knight began its journey in 2013, during a jam where they had to create a video game in 24 hours. Ari Gibson and William Pellen, the developers, hurriedly made Hungry Knight, whose protagonist already had the same design that it retains to this day, and the result was… well, “special.” In other words: absolutely nobody liked it, and for years it had the worst rating on Newgrounds, where they decided to put it so that anyone could enjoy it. It’s not that Hungry Knight had much to do with Hollow Knight, but it opened a small door in their minds.
Both tried to secure funding a bit desperately, and seeing that no one was going to buy their project, they decided to try their luck on Kickstarter, where they raised $57,000 from just over 2,000 people (imagine if they had done the same for Silksong!), enough to start working on it. They left their jobs, founded a small team, Team Cherry, and in 2015 they released a trailer hoping to convince the public to give it a chance. I would love to say that the result was incredible, but the truth is that, on Reddit, many predicted a monumental failure.
“Last year my best friend quit his full-time job to pursue his dream and make a complete game. Today he released a trailer and it looks more than amazing“, said the Reddit post featuring Hollow Knight. Some comments were notably positive, yes, but others showed no mercy.
“I’m sure it’s fine, but the market is currently saturated with side platforms, so I think this game may not do as well as expected”; “It’s a strange market… I’ve seen great games go unnoticed and at the same time others like Flappy Bird succeed. There’s a lot of luck involved” or “I’ve seen the trailer and I have the feeling that I’ve seen it before” are just some of the more disenchanted phrases directed at it. People definitely know how to see the future clearly.
Imagine you are making Hollow Knight and suddenly you read comments like “The indie platformer number 503829 with dungeons for bosses and a monochrome background,” “There’s no reason to play it, played one, played them all,” “I’m pretty sure I’ve played this game a million times with different names” or “I hope they have another plan besides video games“. Anyone would have gotten depressed, but they kept going, taking their time… And we all know the result.
Team Cherry has taken seven years to finish Silksong, and for whatever reason, no one has complained that it looks like a generic 2D platformer. On the contrary: it has made the Internet explode like few times before. Who knows where those who wrote those absurdities are, of course. I hope they are not predicting anyone’s future.
Hollow Knight: Silksong has finally been released and is generating a lot of buzz on the internet, with thousands of players excited to explore Team Cherry’s metroidvania world. Singing their praises
For those who are subscribers of Humble Choice, there is more good news, as they can get Silksong as part of the benefits of their monthly $15 membership. However, Humble has temporarily run out of game keys, promising a restock in the near future. Additionally, it offers DRM-free keys through GOG for those who were unable to obtain a Steam key. This DRM-free format ensures that players can enjoy the title without the need for a launcher, making it an attractive option.
The high expectations for Silksong have caused issues across several digital services, including Steam, Nintendo eShop, PlayStation Network, and Xbox, which are facing difficulties due to the high demand. In less than an hour after the launch, Steam surpassed 100,000 concurrent players, which has tested the servers’ capacity. If there is a problem accessing the game on the Nintendo eShop, digital keys for Silksong for Switch can also be purchased through Amazon.

The launch of Silksong, the sequel to the acclaimed Hollow Knight, has put other developers in a bind as they seek to avoid direct competition on release dates. In this context, the game Demonschool has decided to delay its release to November 19, a measure that highlights the pressure that release dates impose on the video game industry.
Move to not die
Brian Kwek, director of Ysbryd Games, the publisher of Demonschool, explained that the decision was made after careful analysis of the potential repercussions that a simultaneous release could have on its visibility and success. Although Silksong is a 2D platformer, its immense popularity may overshadow other lesser-known titles, reducing the opportunities for Demonschool to attract the attention of players and streamers.
Kwek emphasized the anxiety that the delay has generated among developers and the potential negative reactions from players who were expecting the initial release. The reorganization of marketing strategies and communication with platforms like PlayStation and Xbox are just some of the challenges they must face. Additionally, they are pushing the calculation of a delay not only as a strategy to capitalize on the interest in Silksong but also to avoid the risks associated with coinciding with major releases like Final Fantasy Tactics or the Steam Next Fest event.
Delays are costly, as they force developers to continue paying their team without generating immediate revenue. However, Kwek emphasizes that the delay can also result in a more favorable launch window, taking advantage of the attention generated by other major titles. This could allow Demonschool to capture players’ interest at a time when there is a greater call on the Steam platform, which could be crucial for its commercial success.

The long-awaited release of Hollow Knight: Silksong will take place on September 4, ending more than seven years of development. Since its announcement, the sequel to the acclaimed Hollow Knight has generated enormous anticipation in the gaming community, becoming one of the most anticipated releases of the year.
The day has finally arrived!
The Team Cherry team has managed to sell 15 million units of Hollow Knight, a success that has allowed for a leisurely development of Silksong. Ari Gibson and William Pellen, co-founders of the Australian studio, have emphasized that there have been no setbacks during production; they simply took their time due to the freedom provided by previous sales. “It has been great to do fun things”, commented Gibson, highlighting the team’s satisfaction with their creative process.
Initially conceived as an expansion of the original game, Silksong evolved into an independent title due to the team’s ambition to offer a deeper and more innovative experience. During development, so many ideas emerged that the team chose to take more time to perfect every aspect of the game, prioritizing quality over speed in the release.
Amid growing pressure and speculation on social media, Team Cherry decided to keep a low profile to avoid creating unrealistic expectations. Despite having underestimated the time needed to implement all the features of the game, they are optimistic about the final result, anticipating that Silksong will offer a memorable experience.
The Australian studio has also confirmed that they will continue working on the Hollow Knight saga, with plans for expansions or even a possible third installment, which ensures that there are still many adventures to discover for their followers. “Silksong” will be available on multiple platforms, including PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
