Fortnite: John Wick Challenges and Event Guide

The Wick’s Bounty Challenges must all be completed within matches of Wick’s Bounty, the new LTM game mode introduced as part of the event. This squad-based game type has players dropping in all over the map and collecting gold tokens, obtained by eliminating other players. Each player starts with a certain number of tokens, and each player only has three lives. The first squad to collect 500 tokens wins the match, but be warned: the players with the three highest token amounts will be marked on the mini-map for all players to see.

Wick’s Bounty Challenge Guide

  • Win a match of Wick’s Bounty (1) – One Shot Glider

This first challenge is arguably the most straightforward, but you’ll need a pretty good squad to rise to the top. Ideally, you should play with friends, but if you can’t, you’ll need to work together as a team. Completing this challenge will net you the One Shot glider, a Wick-themed take on the standard Umbrella glider.

  • Play matches of Wick’s Bounty (5) – Boogeyman Wrap

This one should be pretty easy: win or lose, you’ll simply need to play 5 matches in the new mode. Doing so will reward you with the Boogeyman weapon wrap, which gives your weapons a sleek black paint job.

  • Collect Gold Tokens (120) – 500 XP

This challenge may require a bit more work, but skilled players can also potentially check this one off the list in a single match. You’ll have to collect 120 Gold Tokens cumulatively, whether it be over the course of one match or several.

  • Collect Gold Tokens in a single match (20) – 500 XP

There are two ways to finish this challenge: either start eliminating enemies and grab their tokens, or keep an eye out and look for Golden Tokens that have been dropped on the map by other players.

  • Deal damage with the Combat Shotgun (500) – 500 XP
fortnite combat shotgun

All players start with this weapon in their inventory, so this shouldn’t be too hard. The Combat Shotgun is a recently added weapon that’s essentially a step up from the old Tactical Shotgun. It fires in semi-auto and has a good combo of firing speed, range, and damage-dealing capabilities.

  • Deal damage with the Tactical Assault Rifle (500) – 500 XP

Another new Wick-themed weapon, the Tactical Assault Rifle actually fires light bullets. As such, it does slightly less damage than other assault rifles, but makes up for it with good range and accuracy.

Completing five challenges will reward players with the Gold Token back bling item, essentially just a giant version of the Tokens that players collect during Wick’s Bounty.

More about Wick’s Bounty

Some players may have noticed new John Wick- themed areas that have been added to the map with recent updates. The first, Wick’s House, can be found on the outskirts of Paradise Palms. This prime example of modern architecture boasts the exact layout as Wick’s home in the first movie, and even includes his trademark muscle car parked in the driveway.

As an added bonus, players who have seen the movie will know the location of a few secret chests. Heading to the basement and mining the floor will reveal at least three chests full of loot, which mirrors the spot where Wick buried his old assassin’s kit after he retired.

In addition, players can also head to The Continental Hotel, located in Neo-Tilted. In the movies, this Hotel serves as a central location in the world of assassins and hitmen that Wick is part of. As part of The Continental’s iron clad rules, no “business” can be conducted within Hotel walls. In the Wick’s Bounty game mode, this spot acts as a safe zone where no players can attack or use weapons. However, that doesn’t prevent players outside the hotel from firing at you while you’re inside.

In the Item Shop, players can find the John Wick skin, which comes in both normal and battle-scarred variants. The Sledgehammer that Wick uses in the first movie to unearth his buried gear has also been added, as well as additional themed weapon wraps and a few movie-inspired emotes.

Chris Rock (yes, that Chris Rock) is reviving Saw (yes, that Saw)

Jumping from comedy to horror, Chris Rock looks to breathe new life into the Saw franchise.

Chris Rock SawThis is, without a doubt, one of the weirdest headlines of the year.

Comedian Chris Rock is sinking his teeth into the horror franchise by reviving the Saw movie franchise.

“I’ve been a fan of Saw since the first film in 2004,” Rock said in a statement. “I am excited by the opportunity to take this to a really intense and twisted new place.”

As a fan of the franchise, Rock wrote a story for a new Saw film, which Lionsgate Motion Picture Group saw, and enjoyed.

“When Chris Rock came to us and described in chilling detail his fantastic vision that reimagines and spins off the world of the notorious Jigsaw Killer, we were all in,” said Joe Drake, chairman of Lionsgate. “This upcoming film will still be as mind-bending and intense as all the previous Saw films. ”

A comedian making his or her way to comedy is nothing new. Last year, funnyman Danny McBride wrote the new “Halloween.” Also, Jordan Peele who is best known for the sketch comedy show “Key and Peele” has directed two horror films: “Get Out” and “Us”

The films are known for deadly and creative traps created by the main antagonist, Jigsaw. They are also known for intense gore.

NSWF: Viewer discretion advised

This will be the ninth Saw film to come out. Two years ago, the series came back with “Jigsaw” after taking a seven-year break.

Rock recently released a comedy special on Netflix called “Tamborine.”He also made the comedy movie “The Week Of” alongside fellow SNL alum Adam Sandler.

8

Aside from the first film, the Saw movies haven’t been known for their compelling stories. Basically, we just keep watching them to see what traps the writers can concoct. If Rock’s story is as good as Lionsgate says it is, we are excited. However, we want to see cool traps more than anything else.

New VidAngel site filters out language, violence from TV and movies

Make movies and TV family-friendly with this site.

VidAngel‘s creators developed an intuitive website the allows you to filter content from movies and TV shows. Don’t care for profanity? Sickened by gory violence? You have the power to take that all out!

However, VidAngel changed after a lawsuit.

Before the lawsuit, you could pay around $20 for a title (we had “Deadpool” for a while, which was great) and remove the parts you found distasteful or didn’t want your kids to see (no, we weren’t watching “Deadpool” with the kids). You could keep the movie or return it for $18 in credit, basically a two-dollar rental of the best shows, clean and filtered!

So, what does VidAngel look like post-lawsuit? How does it work, and is it worth the new $10 subscription cost? That’s what we’re going to discuss!

The new VidAngel

Front Page

Head to the VidAngel site. When you begin your subscription, you’ll see something like the picture above. Welcome to the main screen!

As you can see, the layout looks different. Partially, this comes from changes over time, but a few points bear mentioning.

Scroll through the categories to search by class. VidAngel still retains many of the trappings of a streaming service, which means they’ve  added some VidAngel exclusive shows:

Exclusives

Aside from this, you’re dealing with your average streaming service until you step into your first video. Let’s say that’s “Happy Death Day 2U”

Filters

Filters

As always with VidAngel, the filters can be chosen individually for each movie, as seen above. You can see how many filters are in effect in comparison with the total, check the altered runtime, and see a visual representation of what parts went missing.

However, there’s a nice addition to all this.

At the top of the main page, next to the “Categories” and “My Library” buttons, you’ll find “Default Filters”. Hit this button.

Mas Filters

Here, you can engage filters for every video you watch! If you really don’t like hearing the F-bomb, take it out completely. As you can see above, there are even options to remove all opening credits and closing credits! (Along with an anti-Jar Jar Binks option that prequel fans may enjoy).

If you know exactly what you don’t want to see or hear, this tool makes VidAngel a great choice: you’ll never have to worry about changing a thing. In fact, you’ll have all your favorite shows across multiple streaming services readily available in one place.

Wrapping Up

Are you willing to pay an extra $10 a month, in addition to your other streaming services, to watch clean content? If yes, VidAngel doesn’t give many reasons to go elsewhere: their well-crafted service connectivity makes them the top dog in filtered streaming.

New ‘Aladdin’ song clip is… worrisome

Oh no. Oh no.

Will Smith Genie

So this summer’s upcoming live-action “Aladdin” has been catching hell since the first terrifying shots of Will Smith’s genie character hit the internet. Today, we got more than a minute of this movie’s version of the song “Prince Ali.” Buckle up.

What is even going on here? As Vulture pointed out, the song is now sllloooooww. Refresh your memory of the original. It’s jaunty, it’s bombastic, it’s packed with life.

In contrast, the live-action version feels like a low-energy rehearsal for the real thing. Also weird: Smith’s trademark “ha ha” and “woo” and “uh-huh” ad-libs feel like something he’s doing just to kill time.

Also, why are we seeing ostriches during the “exotic-type mammals” line? Was no one even looking at the lyrics?

Disney’s live-action “Aladdin” arrives in theaters on May 24.

Sick of the MCU? These movies are a good substitute!

Need a Marvel fix, but want something a little different? These films might be the answer.

Mad Max

As awesome as the MCU can be, they are saturating the summer blockbuster market.

We can’t help but want something fresh from time to time, rather than watching the same flicks over and over again.

Luckily, we have options for you. If you are looking for an awesome flick that combines comedy, action, and fun characters, these won’t let you down!

Best action movie alternatives to the MCU

1. Basically any Quentin Tarantino movie

You can pull almost any Quentin Tarantino movie off the shelf, and it will be one of the best films you’ve ever seen.

From action thrill rides like “Kill Bill: Vol. 1” or “Kill Bill: Vol. 2” to more intriguing stories like “Pulp Fiction,” you just can’t go wrong.

Tarantino also has films that touch on tragic moments in our history. “Inglorious Basterds” deals with both the Holocaust and WWII. “Django Unchained” takes place in an era in U.S. history when slavery was abundant.

Netflix has several Tarantino films in its library so you can start watching now if you have a subscription.

8

If you’ve never seen a Tarantino film, we would recommend starting with one of his first major films, “Reservoir Dogs.” It’s a movie about a diamond heist gone horribly wrong.  Think “Ocean’s 8” but with a graphic torture scene. After that one, you can move onto his later films like “The Hateful Eight.”

Netflix recently released an extended cut of “The Hateful Eight” separated into four hour-long episodes.

With Tarantino, you can expect a lot of gore, occasional drug use, and lots of swearing, so the kiddos should sit this one out. However, for a more mature audience, this guy might become your favorite director.

2. The Jumanji movies

Not a lot of people thought that the Jumanji sequel, “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle” was going to be any good. However, the fun action mixed in with comedy from The Rock, Jack Black, and Kevin Hart made it a lot of fun.

We could also watch Karen Gillan kick butt any day.

The original “Jumanji” with Robin Williams is a classic that still holds up today.

If you’re looking for a good double feature on a rainy summer day, this proves to be a fun ride.

3. Godzilla and King Kong

For the average viewer, a subbed or dubbed Godzilla film from Japan might be a bit too much. Also, the original Godzilla film from the 1950s and the original King Kong from the 1930s might not capture your kids’ attention.

However, in the last few years, there has been a new American made Godzilla film and a King Kong film, and both are good. Also, with a new Godzilla movie on the horizon, it might be a good time to jump into the franchise.

“Kong: Skull Island” came out in 2017. It features three actors we know and love from the MCU: Tom Hiddleston, Samuel L. Jackson, and Brie Larson. The three find themselves on Kong’s home, Skull Island, where giant monsters run rampant and threaten their lives. The giant ape Kong reigns as king of the island, which they try to escape.

“Godzilla” is a 2014 film where the king of the monsters is out to save the world from an infestation of new monsters called the MUTO. It doesn’t have the same social dilemmas of the original film, but it does have solid action and great performances from both Bryan Cranston and Aaron Taylor-Johnson.

4. The Mission: Impossible films

Here’s the thing, not every Mission: Impossible movie is good. However, the newest addition, “Mission: Impossible – Fallout” is a lot of fun.

The best part about the series is that you don’t need to see every film to know what is going on. Basically, Tom Cruise and his team are constantly thwarting terrorist organizations from taking over the world.

Where the films go from good to great is in the action and stunts. Cruise demands to perform his own stunts in the movies and seems to up the ante with each addition. Whether you are watching Fallout or the original “Mission: Impossible,” you can’t go wrong.

5. “Mad Max: Fury Road”

Imaging if the coyote-roadrunner cartoons were on steroids.

“Mad Max: Fury Road” is about Max Rockatansky, played by Tom Hardy, trying to survive the post-apocalyptic world. Along the way, he is captured by some psychopaths, escapes, and teams up with a badass, one-armed lady named Imperator Furiosa, played by Charlize Theron.

From there, the movie is a non-stop chase with the psychopaths trying to hunt them down along the endless dusty roads.

This is a movie where you need to put on deodorant beforehand as the intense action scenes will leave you sweating by the end.

6. The Kingsman movies

“Manners maketh man”

The first Kingsman movie, “Kingsman: The Secret Service” is a wild action-comedy with high-paced fights mixed with hilariously crude humor.

Most agree that its successor, “Kingsman: The Golden Circle,” does not capture the same lighting in a bottle as the original, but it is still a decent sequel.

Both films are about British spies thwarting charismatic bad guys out to take over the world. As fun as the hand-to-hand fighting sequences are, the spy gadgets steal the show.

If you always wanted James Bond to have a bit of an edge, then look no further.

7. Almost any of the Batman movies

The Dark Knight is no stranger to the big screen.

Although we would not recommend the Ben Affleck edition, directors Tim Burton and Christopher Nolan gave us some great Bat-flicks to choose from.

Burton’s “Batman” and “Batman Returns” set the standard for future Batman films to come. For many people, Michael Keaton became their definitive Batman with these two movies.

Nolan did not give us movies that felt like comic books, but he did give us incredible action-filled roller coasters. “Batman Begins,” “The Dark Knight,” and “The Dark Knight Rises,” are some people’s holy trinity of superhero movies.

In these movies, we see Bruce Wayne’s tragic beginnings, him becoming the Dark Knight Gotham deserves, and finally his rise from the ashes of defeat to save the city.

If you want something more kid-friendly, “The Lego Batman Movie” is a lot of fun for people of all ages. Essentially, you can always bet on Batman.

Wrapping up

The MCU is not showing any sign of slowing down.

The movies dominate the box office, and fans always seem to love them. However, it is nice to take a break from the world of Captain America and Iron Man once in a while, and watch some other great heroes save the day.

10 things you didn’t know about Batman Begins

Discover what you never knew about the Christian Bale Batman origin story.

A far cry from Tim Burton’s cartoonish take on the character, “Batman Begins” was a dark, gritty reboot of the classic Batman story that changed the face of superhero movies. Starring Christian Bale as the legendary antihero, “Batman Begins” explores Bruce Wayne’s transformation from vapid playboy to caped vigilante.  Here are a few quick secrets and little-known facts about the first movie in Christopher Nolan’s blockbuster trilogy.

10 things you didn’t know about Batman Begins

1. Christian Bale wasn’t the only actor to be considered for Batman

Going into production, director Christopher Nolan had a long list of potential candidates for the Batman role. This list included Henry Cavill, who would go on to play Superman, and Heath Ledger, who would later infamously star as The Joker in “The Dark Knight.” The role nearly went to Irish actor Cillian Murphy of “Peaky Blinders” fame, who was reportedly one of Nolan’s favorites for the part. However, Nolan eventually decided on Christian Bale and cast Murphy in the role of villainous psychiatrist Scarecrow.

2. Bale auditioned in Val Kilmer’s Batsuit

While auditioning for the part, Bale wore the same Batsuit that Val Kilmer donned for the role in “Batman Forever.” The suit was reportedly so miserable and made Bale so uncomfortable that he was constantly furious when wearing it. Bale said this constant discomfort helped him get into the Batman headspace.

3. Gary Oldman almost played the villain

Fans will know character actor Gary Oldman as the mild-mannered Gotham police officer James Gordon, a role he would continue playing in every film in the trilogy. Originally, though, Oldman was considered for a different role: that of the movie’s main antagonist, Ra’s al Ghul. He was apparently in serious talks to play the role of Batman’s mentor-turned-enemy before the part went to Liam Neeson.

4. Bale seriously bulked up for the role

batman begins batman batsuit

Prior to filming, Bale had dropped quite a bit of weight for a role in the movie “The Machinist.” To help get in shape for the role of Batman, he hired a personal trainer and gained over 100 pounds of muscle in the short span of a few months. Unfortunately, he was then forced to lose much of that weight to fit into the Batsuit costume.

5. The Batmobile is a real vehicle

batman begins tumbler camo

“Batman Begins” gave a new spin to the Batmobile. Instead of a stylized sports car, Batman’s ride was based on a rugged military vehicle. That vehicle isn’t CGI, either. The Tumbler, as it’s known in the film, is a custom built vehicle combining a Chevy V8 engine with parts from semis and Baja racing trucks. Four working vehicles were built for filming, each costing a grand total of $250,000.

6. A drunk driver thought the Batmobile was an alien spaceship

batman begins batmobile

One of the Tumblers created for the movie was damaged during filming in a rather bizarre drunk driving incident. While moving the car down a Chicago street on the way to film a scene, a drunk driver reportedly intentionally rammed the vehicle. When caught and asked why, the driver stated that he thought the Tumbler was an alien spacecraft. Therefore, in an act of either incredible bravery or astounding stupidity, he decided to take it upon himself to stop this perceived alien invasion.

7. Bale almost slept through a scene

batman begins michael caine christian bale bruce wayne alfred

Christian Bale is apparently known for dozing on set. It’s a habit that nearly got him in trouble during filming when it caused him to quite literally fall asleep during a scene. The scene in question involves Bruce Wayne lying in bed while Alfred (Michael Caine) helps him recover from an attack of the Scarecrow’s fear toxin. While lying in the bed, Bale nodded off. He woke up to find Caine poking him in the ribs and laughing.

8. Batman’s cape was designed by the British military

batman begins bat cape

In the movie, Bruce Wayne uses discarded military technology from his father’s company to construct the Batsuit. There’s more truth to this fiction than many people might realize. To design Batman’s cape, the costume department enlisted the help of the British Ministry of Defence. The cape was created with parachute nylon using electrostatic flocking technology. This military technique helps obscure images in night vision, which doubtless comes in handy for Batman’s often stealthy nighttime prowls.

9. Bale specifically asked that there be no blood or gore

batman begins rachel dawes katie holmes

Despite the film taking a darker, more realistic tone than previous iterations, Christian Bale was adamant that the movie be appropriate for young children. He stated that as a kid, he would have loved being able to see this particular style of superhero movie, and wanted the film to appeal to kids in the 10-12 age range. Thus, no blood or gore was included in the film, and it received a PG-13 rating.

10. Jack Gleeson, a.k.a. Joffrey Baratheon, had a small role

batman begins jack gleeson joffrey

Fans might know actor Jack Gleeson for his infamous turn as Joffrey Baratheon in HBO’s “Game of Thrones.” Eagle-eyed viewers will notice that a young Gleeson has a small part in “Batman Begins” as a boy who has a short but heartwarming exchange with Batman after he spots him on a rooftop. Gleeson had previously shared the screen with Bale in the movie “Reign of Fire.”

Looking to scratch that Batman itch? Here’s where to stream “Batman Begins” online right now, so you can relive the start of an iconic series.

5 crazy Studio Ghibli theories that will have you second guessing

Discover some hidden meanings behind these incredible films.

When Studio Ghibli was founded, we can only wonder if the creators had any idea that the films would have such an impact on the world. Studio Ghibli’s first film was “Nausicaa Valley of the Wind,” which was actually released the year before the studio was actually founded. With Hayao Miyazaki at the reigns, the studio has gone on to make some of the most successful anime films to come out of Japan, ever. While some are lighthearted and cute, others, like “Graveyard of the Fireflies,” are based on devastating historical events and left us sitting in the dark drowning in our tears. Fans have raked through every minute of these whimsical movies and discovered a lot of creepy details that are too coincidental to just brush off.

1. God of death

Totoro art
This is probably one that you’ve heard before. If you’re a Ghibli fan, you’re definitely familiar with “My Neighbor Totoro,” about a family of two daughters and their father who move out to the countryside to be in an area with cleaner air, closer to where their mother is hospitalized.

As the girls are exploring their new home, they stumble upon the lair where Totoro, a forest sprite is sleeping. Throughout the movie, Totoro, the other forest sprites, and a bus in the form of a cat (yes, there’s actually a cat bus) take the girls on adventures and help them to cope with their mother’s illness.

White Totoro might look like a huge, cuddly teddy bear, fans soon began to claim that it might really be a shinigami, or a god of death due to similarities between the sisters and an old Japanese murder case, called The Sayama Incident.

In May of 1963, a 16-year-old girl was kidnapped while walking home from school. Her younger sister committed suicide shortly after her body was found. In “My Neighbor Totoro,” the older sister’s name is Satsuki, which means ‘May’ in Japanese, and the younger sister’s name is Mei (pronounced ‘May’), a nod to when the murder happened. About halfway through the film, Mei goes missing for a short while and her shoe is found in a pond. Although Mei is found later and the movie ends happily, fans really think that when Satsuki finds Mei’s shoe, she is so overwhelmed with guilt that she goes into Totoro’s lair and kills herself. Once she has passed, she finds Mei and they both go to visit their mother in the hospital, who is able to see their ghostly forms because she’s dying.

This theory picked up speed so quickly that Studio Ghibli issued a statement saying that none of it was true. Even still, creepy, right?

2. Yubaba’s bathhouse was actually a brothel

Yes, you read that right. In “Spirited Away,” a young girl named Chihiro moves with her mother and father to a new home. On their way to the house, they take a wrong turn and end up in front of a mysterious tunnel. After a bit of bickering between her parents, they all venture down the tunnel and discover an abandoned amusement park. Long story short, her parents are turned into pigs and Chihiro ventures further into the magical world on a quest to save them.

Chihiro at the bathhouse
After eating food from this world, Chihiro is able to mask that she’s a human being and finesses her way into a job at the bathhouse. This is where the comparisons come into play: the sign on the front of the bathhouse reads “yu,” which means hot water. Innocent enough, right?

Maybe not – apparently, in the past, women in prostitution conducted their …activities in bathhouses. The older women who were in charge of running the bathhouses were called “Yubaba,” which is also the name of the character who runs the bathhouse in the movie, and Yubaba’s employees were called “yuna,” or water women. Shortly after accepting the job in the bathhouse, Chihiro is told that she needs to change her name to Sen, and a big, black blobby character named No-Face keeps attempting to “buy” Sen with gold….you can see where this is going.

3. The Ponyo and Kiki’s Delivery Service crossover

An eagle-eyed redditor is the source of this next theory. After finding a side-by-side photo, this redditor belives that characters Ponyo and Sosuke remain friends, grow up, get married, and open a bakery in a small seaside town and become the characters Mr. and Mrs. Osono, the owners of the bakery in “Kiki’s Delivery Service.” Although Kiki takes place years before Ponyo was created, you have to admit that the resemblance is uncanny.Ponyo and Kiki's Delivery Service

4. The villagers have Leprosy in Princess Mononoke

Irontown villagers
In “Princess Mononoke,” there’s a place called Irontown where all of the residents are suffering from an incurable disease. Irontown was founded to be a safe area for these residents because after they get sick, they’re not welcome anywhere else. Due to the bandages covering most of the villagers’ bodies and the discrimination against them, fans believed this disease was actually Leprosy. Turns out, this theory was actually confirmed by Hayao Miyazaki himself. He’d visited a hospital and talked with people who were suffering from the disease in order to draw inspiration for what the Irontown villagers were experiencing.

5. All Studio Ghibli films are connected

Whisper of the Heart screenshot
This one’s a doozy. A number of blogs and Studio Ghibli forums have compiled examples that this theory could be true, like the earlier mentioned “Kiki’s Delivery Service” crossover, a book about Totoro showing up on a shelf in “Whisper of the Heart,” and a ton of others. This theory is really fascinating, and to this day, fans are discovering new easter eggs like characters hiding in other movies that kind of makes this impossible to disprove.

The Studio Ghibli universe is wide and every time you watch one of the films, you see something new. What’s your favorite creepy or fascinating Ghibli theory?

Incredible fan edit reimagines Star Wars fight between Obi-Wan and Darth Vader

Star Wars fight

The Star Wars saga is beloved for its incredible imagination and iconic characters. But even George Lucas can acknowledge that not everything from the original films holds up. That’s why he rolled out the Special Editions of his films. And even then, there were still… issues.

Fan reaction to “Rogue One” was mixed, but nearly everyone loved the ending, when we got to see Darth Vader go full Vader. Force chokes, Force pushes, terrifying lightsaber combat. It was a thing of beauty. The problem is, that Darth Vader doesn’t really sync up to the Darth Vader from “A New Hope.” He seems old, slow, and weak. To be fair, Lucas’ original direction was that lightsabers would be “heavy, like Excalibur.” Clearly, that changed over time. The prequels showed us how exciting a full-speed saber battle could be.

Now, an industrious fan has reimagined the very first lightsaber battle from Episode IV, complete with a strong, fast, powerful Vader and a Jedi Master to match. Buckle up, because this thing is intense.

To quote Lord Vader himself, “Impressive.”

10 things you didn’t know about Blade Runner 2049

Discover what you never knew about this modern sci-fi masterpiece.

A sequel to the cult sci-fi hit “Blade Runner,” “Blade Runner 2049” picks up 30 years after the events of the original film. The film follows K (Ryan Gosling), an AI replicant employed as a Blade Runner by the LAPD. After stumbling upon a long-hidden corpse during a case, K begins to find clues that could lead him to unravel a mystery three decades in the making. Read on for 10 fascinating pieces of trivia about the blockbuster sci-fi sequel.

10 things you didn’t know about Blade Runner 2049

1. Harrison Ford wasn’t going to be in the movie

When production first began back in 2011, the production team was adamant that actor Harrison Ford would not be returning to his role from the first film as Detective Rick Deckard. Producer Andrew Kosove even said that rumors Ford would be involved were “absolutely, patently false.” That all changed in 2014, when it was revealed that Ford had signed on to the production and would be reprising the iconic role of Deckard.

2. The ruins of Vegas were based on a real place

blade runner 20149 vegas ruins

To create the distinctive, red-tinged look of the ruins of Las Vegas, the production team drew on real-life sources for inspiration. The red-tinted, Mars-like look of the desolate city was directly inspired by images of the 2009 dust storm in Sydney, Australia. The massive storm blanketed the Australian capital in thick clouds of alien-looking red dust for over two days.

3. You can drink the actual whiskey from the movie

blade runner 2049 whiskey

During a scene late in the movie, K and Deckard share a drink. The whiskey that they’re drinking is actually available for purchase. Distiller Johnnie Walker issued a limited edition scotch branded “Black Label: The Director’s Cut” to coincide with the movie’s release. Sold in a futuristic-looking bottle, director Denis Villeneuve helped create the unique beverage.

4. Dave Bautista almost wasn’t cast

blade runner 2049 dave bautista

Director Denis Villeneuve had originally wanted a grizzled, tired looking older actor to play the role of rogue replicant Sapper Morton. It was for this reason that actor Dave Bautista nearly wasn’t cast. Villeneuve directly told Bautista that he was “too young” to play the part. It was only with the help of the movie’s makeup team that Bautista was able to take on a more weathered look, which won over Villeneuve.

5. David Bowie was considered for a role

blade runner 2049 david bowie

The movie’s antagonist, Niander Wallace, is a ruthless CEO looking to interfere with K’s investigation to fuel his own ambitions. Villeneuve was adamant that actor and pop icon David Bowie should play the role, as he embodied the “rock star” quality that he was looking for in the character. Unfortunately, Bowie tragically passed away in 2016 before Villeneuve could approach him with an offer. Instead, Jared Leto was cast in the role, which Villeneuve again attributed to Leto’s similar “rock star” image.

Actor Mackenzie Davis plays Mariette, a member of the replicant freedom movement. Many have noted that Davis bears a striking resemblance to a young Daryl Hannah, who played replicant Pris in the original film. In fact, the resemblance was so strong that Davis has admitted she would frequently cosplay as Pris growing up.

7. Harrison Ford actually punched Ryan Gosling on set

Harrison Ford has made a career out of throwing punches, whether it be taking out Imperial Stormtroopers as Han Solo or taking down Nazis with his right hook as Indiana Jones. Unfortunately, Ryan Gosling found himself on the wrong end of Ford’s clenched fist. During filming, one of Ford’s punches accidentally connected, sending Gosling reeling. The exact moment of the unintentional punch was captured in all its glory in the image above.

Fans with keen ears will recognize an easter egg hidden in the film’s soundtrack. The final scene of the movie includes a music cue from the original film. The cue originally played over the final moments of replicant Roy Batty (Rutger Hauer) as he delivered his now legendary “tears in the rain” monologue.

9. Jared Leto went temporarily blind for his role

Jared Leto is known for his use of method acting, in which actors will aspire to both physically and mentally take on the role of their characters. In the movie, Leto plays corporate CEO Niander Wallace, who is blind. As such, Leto wore specially made opaque contacts that completely obscured his vision while filming. He also worked with the Junior Blind of America to prep for the role.

In 2018, Ridley Scott revealed during an interview that he has another “Blade Runner” story in development. Though no details have been revealed, Scott has long been adamant that he would continue to make “Blade Runner” movies as long as audiences remain interested.

‘IT: Chapter 2″ teaser trailer shows Loser’s Club’s return to Derry

‘IT: Chapter 2’ teaser trailer shows beginnings of a chilling return for Pennywise.

It chapter 2“You’ll float, too.”

After the success of 2017’s “IT,” fans have been thirsting for the trailer for the second part of the story.

The teaser shows the return of the Loser’s Club as they set off to put an end to Pennywise, and save Derry.

The trailer focuses mainly on a single scene featuring Jessica Chastain’s character Beverly Marsh. In the scene, she’s interviewing an elderly woman who may have a connection to Pennywise. Something is clearly off about the woman, and she ends up attacking Beverly.

The rest of the trailer shows the same characters from the previous film, but in their adult roles. The new adult cast includes James McAvoy who plays Bill Denbrough and Bill Hader who plays Richie Tozier.

The trailer only shows two quick scenes of Pennywise. Pennywise balloons

If “IT: Chapter 2” is anything like its predecessor, we can expect a chilling film with gut-wrenching horror. If it has a scene anywhere near as horrifying as the death of Georgie, we are in good hands.

If this film is anything like the book or TV movie with Tim Curry, we can take a stab at what the story might entail. In both interpretations, the Loser’s Club returns to Derry after about 30 years to kill Pennywise once and for all.

Although we do not see as much as we’d like in this trailer, it is just a teaser. Hopefully, we will see more before the movie releases in September of this year.
