When 3D was the future of cinema and television (but James Cameron lied to us)

Many believe that it did, but Avatar didn’t invent anything. In fact, the first 3D movie in the history of cinema is from 1914, although Niagara Falls is completely lost. Until they found the perfect format, Hollywood did several tests by adding, removing, and modifying: before color or sound arrived, 3D already existed thanks to movies like The Power of Love, from 1922, which allowed you to choose one ending or another depending on the lens you were looking through. Many believe that it did, but Avatar didn’t invent anything. In fact, the first 3D movie in the history of cinema is from 1914, although Niagara Falls is completely lost. Until they found the perfect format, Hollywood conducted several tests by adding, removing, and modifying: before color or sound arrived, 3D already existed thanks to movies like The Power of Love, from 1922, which allowed you to choose one ending or another depending on the lens you were looking through. However, they never went beyond the fairground invention until the 1950s, when it became the best antidote against the power of television. And no, James Cameron still had nothing to say here.

From 3D to Avatar

Between 1953 and 1955, a hundred three-dimensional films were released, whether they were Universal monster movies, adventure films (Raza de violencia, Jesse James contra los Dalton), or disaster films. Everything was fair game in the effort to reinvent cinema and protect it from the evil TV, to the point that the great Alfred Hitchcock made a 3D film (Crimen Perfecto, with little success). However, the audience that initially embraced it with fervor eventually grew tired of having to wear the famous two-colored glasses, and the beast of 3D passed into oblivion…

Until the 80s, of course. In an era like this, filled with kitsch, youth, and bright new trends, how could 3D glasses be missing? After the success of Friday the 13th, Part III, where the viewer could see the knife coming right at them, everyone rushed to convert their films to three dimensions, announcing it on the poster with a label larger than the title of the film itself. Cheap productions like Amityville 3-D, Jaws 3-D, A Nightmare on Elm Street 6: Freddy’s Dead, Metalstorm, Spacehunter, or Hyperspace made the audience associate the system with being… cheap but fun.

The fanaticism for three dimensions reached such a point that even in France, to enjoy the fourth part of the erotic Emmanuelle saga, one had to wear the famous red and blue glasses. The trick was used again, and by the early 90s it was only used to promote the new IMAX screens and experiments like Spy Kids 3D, where a sign indicated when we should put on the glasses, or The Polar Express. But then James Cameron arrived.

Better than 2D, worse than 5D

There may have been a boom in three-dimensional movies in the 50s and 80s, but nothing could prepare us for what was to come after the release of Avatar: the highest-grossing film in cinema history forced theaters to adapt for the future, the three dimensions, this time a much more precise system that was viewed through glasses -it must be said- much less iconic. Starting in 2009, no one missed their chance to release their movie, whatever it was, converted to the 3D system. Filmed this way from the beginning, and since it significantly increased costs, there were very few attempts, but the conversion was a relatively simple system, and it was apparent. How could one not try to dig in the gold mine?

Name a movie from the early 2010s, any movie: it had its 3D version. Look, I’m going to give you a few examples that you probably didn’t expect: Clash of the Titans, StreetDance 3D, Space Chimps 2, Resident Evil: Afterlife, Jackass 3D, Battle Royale, Yogi Bear, Gulliver’s Travels, concerts by Justin Bieber, Katy Perry or Glee, Torrente 4, Thor, Green Lantern, Final Destination 5, Ghost Rider 2, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter or Life of Pi are just some of the hundreds and hundreds of productions from around the world that jumped on the bandwagon. And sometimes, they even succeeded.

It wasn’t just a movie thing: 3D televisions also began to proliferate, with brands claiming they were the future of television as well. No one was broadcasting in 3D yet, but you could buy special movies to watch with the corresponding glasses. And, of course, we cannot forget the Nintendo 3DS, which in 2011 tried to jump on the bandwagon while it was still functioning. But little by little, and inevitably, after the novelty wore off, the audience’s desire to feel dizzy plummeted, and by 2019 the system meant very little, being launched exclusively to take advantage of cinema systems or the revamped IMAX.

And now, what? After the release of Avatar: The Way of Water and the upcoming third part, it seems clear that James Cameron has found the exact place to entice the audience to watch movies in 3D. But he, and only he. In 2024, only 12 American movies were released this way, and most of them under the pretext of IMAX (the new great savior of cinema in theaters, but that’s another story). Of those 12, only 4 were not animated, clearly showing that the trend is broken and it’s just a toy for the little ones. After all, the audience wasn’t that interested in three dimensions.

Oh, who knows, maybe in 2051 someone will rediscover it and cause another phenomenon that lasts a few more years. In the meantime, we have all forgotten about its existence, except when it’s time to go to the movies at Christmas and remember how annoying it was to put on the glasses and endure three hours of dolls jumping around. James Cameron fooled us all with a system from over a century ago and, frankly, it’s about time to say it. And yes, if you have a 3D television, you know exactly what I’m talking about. And I know it still hurts.

James Gunn disappoints fans with his response to the rumors about the DCU

James Gunn was recently asked about the veracity of a poster from the San Diego Comic-Con 2024 with a schedule…

We all want the DC Cinematic Universe (DCU) to move forward and announce great and good movies. And while they are working on it at Warner Bros., owner of the DC rights, not all the rumors circulating are true.

Regarding the presence of the DC Universe at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, James Gunn shares a disappointing update with the audience. At least for those who believe everything they read on social media.

After addressing numerous DC Universe rumors to date, James Gunn was recently asked about the veracity of a 2024 San Diego Comic-Con poster featuring a schedule for DC Studios on Threads, the Meta social network.

Presented by Fahim Mia, the panel showcased a series of projects such as Superman: Legacy, Waller, the movie The Batman – Part II, and other DC Studios projects for a presentation in Hall H. Gunn stated, “It’s not. It’s completely made up,” when asked if it was true or not.

You already know that Warner Bros. plans to make a total reinvention of the DC universe after the company’s recent failures to relaunch a genre of movies that only crash at the box office. James Gunn seems like the perfect man to make this happen.

The Fall Guy is the movie we all want this 2024, and this trailer is the proof you need

Inspired by the 80s television series, The Fall Guy follows Seavers as he works under the direction of his ex, Jody Moreno (Emily Blunt), and the action star…

Sometimes life gives us good news. And today is one of those days, as The Fall Guy is one of the most irreverent and funniest movies that will be released this year in theaters. I’m going to see it on the same day of its premiere, just letting you know.

SkyShowtime DOWNLOAD

Ryan Gosling has changed his swimsuit, which has earned him an Oscar nomination, for his acrobatics in the chaotic trailer of The Fall Guy, presented during Sunday’s Super Bowl.

A movie that will be impossible to take seriously

This is the second glimpse we get of the upcoming action comedy from Bullet Train director David Leitch, starring Gosling as the unsettling specialist Colt Seavers.

And amidst the pandemonium of this trailer, tough guy Seavers has a moment of tranquility crying in his car to the rhythm of Taylor Swift’s “All Too Well”. Yes, one would say it doesn’t make much sense, but it seems that the singer has to appear in any product that aims to succeed.

Inspired by the 80s TV series, The Fall Guy follows Seavers in a job directed by his ex, Jody Moreno (Emily Blunt) and starring the big action star Tom Ryder (Aaron Taylor-Johnson), who suddenly disappears.

The Fall Guy was not the only great trailer that was presented during the match. We were also able to see the first great trailer of “Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes” and also the SHOGUN series. The Fall Guy will arrive in theaters on May 3rd.

We have a release date for the ‘good version’ of Netflix’s Rebel Moon: here’s everything we know about the Director’s Cut

For months, we have known that Netflix will release a new version, the ‘Director’s Cut,’ of Rebel Moon – Part 1 by Zack Snyder. Now we know the date…

We wanted it to be the new Star Wars, but reality has given us a very weak version of a somewhat interesting story that takes place in a dystopian future millions of light years away from Earth. Critics and fans have torn it apart… and rightfully so.

Netflix DOWNLOAD

We have known for months that Netflix will release a new version, the “director’s cut”, of Rebel Moon – Part 1, by Zack Snyder, but we didn’t know until now when the exact release date would be.

Now, we have a clearer idea of when one of the most anticipated Netflix movies of this year (supposedly this version is the good one) will be released, because Snyder has revealed the release window for the R-rated version: mid-2024.

In an interview with the DGA Director’s Cut podcast, Snyder expanded on the longer version of Rebel Moon – Part 1: A Child of Fire, whose PG-13 version premiered on Netflix in late December 2023.

Justifying their Director’s cut before releasing it

“What Netflix has done, and they told me from the beginning – and I had never had this experience before – [was] ‘Why don’t we give you some extra money and set aside scenes and allow you to have the director’s cut in parallel and not be a reaction?” said Snyder.

“And that will be later. In summer, you will be able to see what I proposed to them, basically. And then you will pretend to be the studio executive and say: ‘Wow, I see what they mean’. That’s the whole odyssey.”

So there you have it: the director’s cut of the first installment of Rebel Moon will premiere on the best streaming service in the world this summer (or winter, for those in the southern hemisphere). If you’ve been waiting for Snyder’s R-rated sci-fi epic to take off on the streaming giant, you still have a few months until its release.

What differences will there be between both versions

According to Snyder, his original 200-page script was “problematic” for Netflix, although it is not clear whether he is referring to the original length or that it was too adult-oriented.

Probably both, especially if Netflix wanted a movie for viewers over 13 years old that (certain age) viewers could watch on streaming during the 2023 holidays.

“There was a conversation about whether we should cut it,” Snyder continued in his DGA Director’s Cut podcast talk. “The studio wanted a two-hour movie… [so] we cut the 200-page script in half, and made the [Part 1] final scene a little bigger.”

Previously, Snyder teased that he wanted the director’s cut of Rebel Moon to really test its runtime limits. Combined, the two PG-13 installments of the film would clock in at around four hours.

However, since the director’s cuts last about three hours each, you will have to set aside a whopping six hours to watch them back to back. He has also said that they are completely different movies from the PG-13 editions.

It will be interesting to see how Snyder fans, casual viewers, and critics react to the new version, because one thing that is missing in A Child of Fire’s reviews is people who would wish Rebel Moon was longer.

In fact, many critics are clear that Rebel Moon Part 1 is self-indulgent, so the promise of a longer and less focused version probably won’t make them run excitedly to Netflix to watch it.

Netflix DOWNLOAD

Therefore, it is likely that your reaction to the director’s cut will be the same as your reaction to the initial release: if you liked it, you will probably also like the longer version. And if you didn’t think it was one of the best Netflix movies, don’t watch it.

Anyway, if you’re planning on watching, at least, the second part, you’ll be glad to know that Rebel Moon Part 2 will be “action-packed” and will come with a lot of “backstory”.

Do you like Tom Cruise? Warner Bros. just gave him a blank check to do this

The deal with Cruise, who has projects in rival studios like Universal and Paramount, isn’t exclusive or a traditional pact.

Tom Cruise, protagonist of movies like Top Gun, The Last Samurai and the Mission: Impossible saga, will occupy an office at Warner Bros Discovery in Burbank (California), just like stars like Clint Eastwood and Frank Sinatra.

HBO Max DOWNLOAD

The eternal action star has signed a new agreement to develop and produce films with Warner Bros. Discovery. These films will be a mix of original productions and franchises, and will be starring Cruise, according to the company in a statement promoting the agreement.

As part of what is considered a new “strategic partnership,” Cruise and his production company will have offices at Warner Bros. Discovery facilities in Burbank.

What does this agreement mean for Warner Bros.

It’s a power move for Michael De Luca and Pam Abdy, who took on the roles of co-presidents and CEOs of Warner Bros. Motion Picture Group in 2022, and who have been working to revitalize the studio, as well as for David Zaslav, the man who hired them.

The agreement with Cruise, who has projects in rival studios like Universal and Paramount, is not exclusive nor is it a traditional pact. The actor can make movies in other companies, but the hope is that he will be able to generate the kind of globally appealing blockbusters that could generate sequels and improve Warner Bros.’ results.

Cruise has worked at Warner Bros. in the past, but it has been a decade since he last appeared in “Edge of Tomorrow,” from the studio. He has also appeared in Warner Bros. releases such as Magnolia, Rock of Ages, Interview with the Vampire, and Eyes Wide Shut, a challenging shoot in which Cruise gave up over a year of his career for the opportunity to be directed by Stanley Kubrick.

Warner Bros. also gave Cruise his breakthrough role in Risky Business, the teenage sex comedy in which the star danced to the beat of Bob Seger in his underwear.

HBO Max DOWNLOAD

The upcoming Cruise movies include the eighth installment of the “Mission: Impossible” franchise for Paramount, as well as an upcoming action film for Universal from “Edge of Tomorrow” director Doug Liman, in which the actor will become “the first civilian to perform a spacewalk” outside the International Space Station.

Recently he appeared in Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One, which was a box office disappointment, as well as in Top Gun: Maverick, in 2022, which was the biggest success of his career.

Golden Globes 2024: quick summary with all the winning movies

“Oppenheimer,” Christopher Nolan’s epic about the nuclear era and its unlikely global success, won the latest award at the 2024 Golden Globes.

The prelude to the Oscars, as the Golden Globes have always been known, took place last night. Smiling faces, red carpets, lots of press, and a bunch of awards. 2023 begins to receive the well-deserved awards for a brilliant year on the small and big screen.

To start, Oppenheimer, Christopher Nolan’s epic about the nuclear era and its unlikely worldwide success, won the latest award at the 2024 Golden Globes, taking home the prize for Best Drama Film, as well as awards for Nolan, composer Ludwig Goransson, and stars Cillian Murphy and Robert Downey Jr.

Poor Things won two important awards, including Best Cinematic Comedy and Best Actress for its protagonist, Emma Stone. The Holdovers received two acting awards for its protagonists Paul Giamatti and Da’Vine Joy Randolph.

In television, three series dominated: The Bear in comedy, Succession in drama, and Beef in limited series. The only exception was Elizabeth Debicki, who won a supporting actress trophy for The Crown.

These are the 7 most anticipated Netflix movies of 2024

By now, the streaming king is a well-oiled machine that succeeds even without trying, and 2024 doesn’t seem to be an exception.

We have just arrived in 2024 and Netflix has prepared an incredible year for us (just like in 2023), not only in terms of series, but also in terms of movies. And today we are going to review the ones we have confirmed for this year.

Netflix DOWNLOAD

Netflix is fully immersed in the awards season, with its two big contenders, Maestro, by Bradley Cooper, and May December, by Todd Haynes, in the race for the Oscar. At this point, the streaming king is a well-oiled machine that succeeds even without trying, and 2024 doesn’t seem to be an exception.

However, it must be said that the Netflix movie catalog for 2024 seems a bit dimmer than in previous years, as the ramifications of the Hollywood strikes in 2023 will be felt throughout this year.

From highly anticipated sequels to refreshing original offerings, the most anticipated Netflix movies of 2024 are sure to keep you at the top of the streaming wars.

Good Grief (January 5th)

Dan Levy is a talented writer. Winner of four Emmy awards, Levy rose to fame as the co-creator, writer, director, and star of the CBC series Schitt’s Creek. Now, he jumps on the Netflix train with the dramedy Good Grief, about a man who is reeling from the recent deaths of his partner and mother, and goes on a getaway to Paris with his friends.

Accompanied by Oscar nominee Ruth Negga and the always underrated Himesh Patel, Levy stars in what appears to be a dramatic comedy about pain and acceptance. Good Grief seems ideal for late-night viewing, with the same vibes as movies like Under the Tuscan Sun and Eat, Pray, Love. Driven by Levy’s charm, Good Grief could be the feel-good movie of this January.

Irish Wish (March 15th)

In March, a new contender for the best romantic movies on Netflix arrives. Lindsay Lohan stars in the romantic fantasy film Irish Wish alongside Ed Speelers, from Eragon.

The movie follows Maddie, a young woman who agrees to be the maid of honor at the wedding of the apparent love of her life, who is marrying her best friend. After making a wish in Ireland, Maddie wakes up as the bride, but realizes that her true soulmate is someone else.

With a premise so deliciously ridiculous like this, Irish Wish could become a classic so bad it’s good. The film marks Lohan’s second collaboration with Netflix following the 2022 romantic comedy Falling for Christmas.

Damsel (March 8th)

Millie Bobby Brown is undoubtedly the queen of Netflix. The 19-year-old who burst onto the scene in Stranger Things has made a name for herself in her busy schedule. This year she will star in another Netflix movie, the fantasy adventure Damsel.

The plot revolves around Princess Elodie, a young woman who marries a handsome prince, but discovers that she is being offered as a sacrifice to pay off an ancient debt. Thrown into a cave with a dragon, Elodie must rely on her wit to survive. Damsel is co-starring Oscar nominee Angela Bassett, as well as Robin Wright, Ray Winstone, and Nick Robinson.

Rebel Moon – Part 2: The Scargiver (April 19)

Rebel Moon, by Zack Snyder, received mixed reviews from critics and audiences. Its numbers were also quite mediocre, especially considering that Netflix promoted it as a better version of Star Wars.

However, Zack Snyder’s films benefit from being seen, and there is no better place to do so than Netflix. Three months before the release of the sequel, Rebel Moon – Part 1 can still find its way into the hearts of the audience.

Part 2 – The Scargiver will arrive on April 19th and will continue the story focusing on the ongoing battle against the Motherworld. Only time will tell if Luna Rebelde is truly the Star Wars-like franchise that Netflix wants it to be. One thing is for sure: two director’s cuts because that’s how Snyder rolls.

Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F (no release date announced)

Thirty years after his last portrayal of Axel Foley, Oscar-nominated Eddie Murphy returns to the role that made him a superstar in Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F, on Netflix. The plot will see Foley returning to Beverly Hills after the death of an old friend. Accompanied by his estranged daughter and her ex-boyfriend, Foley will investigate corruption within the Beverly Hills Police Department.

Axel F. will mark Murphy’s third collaboration with Netflix following Dolemite Is My Name and You People. The expectations are high, considering that the original trilogy is still very beloved; however, Murphy’s previous nostalgic sequel on Amazon Prime had a somewhat mediocre performance.

The Old Guard 2 (no release date announced)

The 2020 superhero film The Old Guard, directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood, was a tremendous success. It features an ensemble cast led by Oscar winner Charlize Theron as a group of immortal mercenaries on a mission of revenge. Over a year after its release, Netflix has greenlit a sequel to be directed by Victoria Mahoney.

The details about the plot remain vague, but most of the original cast, including Theron, KiKi Layne, Marwan Kenzari, Matthias Schoenaerts, and Oscar-nominated Chiwetel Ejiofor, will return. They will be joined by Oscar-nominated Uma Thurman and Henry Golding in undisclosed roles. The Old Guard is among Netflix’s most successful action movies, and the sequel has everything going for it to be even better.

The Electric State (no release date announced)

The graphic novel The Electric State by Simon Stålenhag will receive a live-action adaptation courtesy of Netflix and the Russo brothers (Ciudadela). Millie Bobby Brown will star in the film alongside a star-studded cast including Chris Pratt, Ke Huy Quan (Oscar winner), and Stanley Tucci (Oscar nominee).

Set in an alternative and dystopian version of 1997, where Earth has been ravaged by a robotic war, the plot follows Michelle, a teenager who travels through the countryside with her toy robot in search of her brother.

Netflix DOWNLOAD

The Russo brothers have had many successes and failures on Netflix. The Electric State has an attractive premise, a promising cast, and a studio willing to invest money to bring Stålenhag’s vision to life. If the Russos can restrain their worst impulses, this could potentially be a big win for Netflix.

The best science fiction series and movies coming in 2024.

Apple TV+, Netflix, and other streaming services have bet on producing Sci-Fi series that will be released throughout the year. This compilation is…

In recent years, the science fiction genre has been reborn as if it were the 80s and 90s, when the film industry had a blast releasing dystopian and action-packed adventures. This 2024 promises to be memorable in that regard.

AppleTV+ DOWNLOAD

Apple TV+, Netflix and other streaming services have decided to produce Sci-Fi series that will be released throughout the year. And let’s not forget about the movies that will also hit the theaters in these 12 months.

Since the arrival of artificial intelligence, our vision of the future has slightly transformed. Fortunately, directors and screenwriters look beyond AI when imagining those dystopian worlds of tomorrow.

Without further ado, let’s go with the 2024 releases in science fiction, whether they are series or movies.

Murderbot (Apple TV)

By now we all know that Apple TV+ has a predilection for dystopias and science fiction. And here’s another bold series. Based on an award-winning series of novels titled The Murderbot Diaries by Martha Wells, the story follows a security android who is horrified and fascinated by human emotions.

Perhaps the most attractive aspect of this series is its cast. Alexander Skarsgård will be the protagonist of Murderbot, and we can’t think of a better actor to play a cold and calculating android who learns to understand human emotions.

Dune: Prophecy (Max)

Originally titled Sisterhood of Dune, this complementary television series to Denis Villeneuve’s Dune movies has undergone a troubled development process in recent years.

The series is set 10,000 years before the events of Frank Herbert’s Dune. It explores the origins of the legendary brotherhood of superhumans from the novels, the Bene Gesserit.

The series is co-produced by Frank Herbert’s son, Brian, and his granddaughter, Kim, along with experienced television writer Alison Schapker (Fringe, Lost, Westworld). Villeneuve was unable to direct due to scheduling conflicts, but the series’ style will surely follow the incredible scale and scope of the films.

Constellation (Apple TV+)

Someone at Apple is a big fan of science fiction, as the thriving streamer continues to produce ambitious and interesting genre shows (Foundation, For All Mankind, Silo, Invasion).

The latest one, which will be released in February, is Constellation. Starring Noomi Rapace, all we know so far is the brief synopsis that states that the series is about “an astronaut who returns to Earth after a space disaster, only to discover that key pieces of her life seem to have disappeared”.

If you’re into conspiracy thriller science fiction, this could be the winning movie.

Alien (FX)

The Alien franchise is about to explode with new movies and series this year, but the most promising title is a television prequel from writer Noah Hawley (Legion, Fargo).

The series will be the first Alien story set on Earth, exploring the origins of androids and the mysterious Weyland-Yutani corporation.

How do the “aliens” enter the story? Who knows, but Hawley has proven to be a surprising and creative writer, so this will undoubtedly be the most interesting entry in the franchise we have seen in a long time.

Civil War (A24)

From Ex Machina to Annihilation, through Devs, Alex Garland has been doing truly innovative and original things, but Civil War seems to be his biggest project to date.

Described as an action and war film, it is set in the near future where the United States has entered into a civil war after an authoritarian government takes power and half of the country decides to separate.

With a terrifyingly premonitory look, this movie will generate a lot of talk when it is released. Garland knows what he’s doing, we expect a great film.

The Electric State (Netflix)

Since the Russo brothers made Avengers: Endgame, the highest-grossing film of all time, they have been stumbling. Will this trend continue or have they found new inspiration in a 2018 graphic novel that has received good reviews?

The story is simple. It is an alternative post-apocalyptic timeline of 1997 and a teenager travels through dystopian USA with her toy robot.

There is no doubt that Netflix has spent a fortune on this movie, so it is sure to look impressive. Let’s hope there is a decent story to support it.

Can Henry Cavill be the next James Bond? It’s possible that age plays against him

Henry Cavill auditioned for Bond in Casino Royale. The actor was one of the stars considered in the early 2000s…

There are people who dream of seeing Henry Cavill, the fittest English actor in the entire film industry, as the most famous spy of all time: the unmatched and elegant James Bond. There were options for that to happen 20 years ago.

As widely reported, Cavill auditioned for Bond in Casino Royale. The actor, who was one of the stars considered in the early 2000s, was dismissed for being too young at that time, and the role went to Daniel Craig.

Casino Royale director Martin Campbell recently spoke about Cavill’s audition for James Bond to Express UK, describing it as “tremendous” and revealing that the actor would have been a great 007 “if Daniel [Craig] didn’t exist.”

Once Daniel Craig is gone, are there any options for Cavill?

Now that Craig has left the role, Henry Cavill is among names like Aaron Taylor-Johnson, James Norton, Papa Essiedu, and Regé-Jean Page, among many others, who frequently top the lists of possibilities.

Although Cavill has been careful not to talk at length about Bond and whether he is currently involved in any behind-the-scenes conversations, there are some doubts about whether the casting could still happen.

Normally, actors play Bond for the first time when they are around 30 years old, allowing them to portray the role in at least three movies. The fact that Cavill is now 40 years old does not exclude him from the race, but it has also been reported that franchise producers are looking for someone a little younger.

Another factor against Henry Cavill is how busy he is as an actor. It has been proven that playing Bond is very demanding and requires a lot of time, and with Henry Cavill currently involved in bringing a Warhammer 40K TV show to life, as well as being linked to projects like Highlander, it is not clear if the actor would be able to make the kind of contractual commitments that 007 producers might be looking for.

Although Henry Cavill is not yet ruled out, it seems that his chances of becoming James Bond decrease every year that goes by.
