The titles are Kirby Star Stacker, Survival Kids, Gradius: The Interstellar Assault, and The Sword of Hope, each offering unique gameplay that reflects the diversity of the console.

Four classic games you must not miss

Among the additions, Kirby Star Stacker stands out as the most well-known. Originally released by HAL Laboratory in 1997, it is a puzzle game reminiscent of Tetris Attack and Pokémon Puzzle League, where players must align blocks representing iconic characters from the Kirby series. The Super Famicom version has been available on Switch Online since 2023, and now the original Game Boy version joins the offering, giving fans a new opportunity to enjoy it.

Another significant title is Survival Kids, a game developed by Konami that has cultivated a cult status and will soon be remastered for the Nintendo Switch 2. The original game challenges players to survive on a deserted island, a dynamic that has influenced many modern survival titles. Although the upcoming version for Switch 2 will feature a friendlier and more cooperative reinterpretation, the inclusion of the classic in Switch Online is a gift for nostalgia fans.

Shoot ’em up genre fans will also be pleased with Gradius: The Interstellar Assault, the Game Boy adaptation of the classic Konami saga. Additionally, The Sword of Hope, a lesser-known but ambitious RPG for the console, will be available, offering a different and immersive experience for players.

All these titles are now available to play through Nintendo Switch Online, which promises to revitalize interest in some of the most endearing games from the Game Boy era.

Nintendo has introduced a new feature for the Nintendo Switch 2 that could make a significant difference in its battery longevity. The console will allow users to limit the battery charge to 90%, a function aimed at reducing its degradation over time. This method, which has been increasingly adopted in electronic devices such as smartphones and laptops, limits the battery charge and can extend its maximum capacity.

Long live the battery!

According to the information shared in the Nintendo Today app, enabling this option means that the system will stop charging once it reaches approximately 90% battery remaining. This means that the charging speed slows down as it approaches this threshold, helping to mitigate battery wear, which is a common issue in most rechargeable batteries.

The battery life of the Switch 2 is estimated to be between two and six and a half hours, depending on the types of games and applications used. In standby mode, the charger is expected to complete a full charge in approximately three hours. The company has been cautious in making direct comparisons with the previous model, the Switch, as performance can vary considerably based on each user’s usage.

Although the Nintendo Switch 2 has not yet been released to the market, this new charging management feature seems to be a step forward in portable console technology. According to rumors, other electronic device manufacturers are expected to follow suit and adopt similar features to improve battery life in their products.

Nintendo Switch 2 could have customizable Joy-Cons

Less than a month remains until the launch of the Nintendo Switch 2, a console that promises to enhance the gaming experience and take Nintendo’s exclusives to a new level. Players are excited about the arrival of this powerful machine, which is expected to transform the way titles from the Japanese company are enjoyed. However, the community is also paying attention to the customization options for the Joy-Cons, which are a hallmark of the brand.

Nothing is confirmed, but Aliexpress makes us think

In this regard, interchangeable side panels for the Switch 2 Joy-Cons have been detected, available on AliExpress at a quite affordable price, around a couple of euros. These panels, which allow changing the usual black color of the controllers to Nintendo’s iconic red and blue combinations, have caused a stir and, according to reports, are already sold out on the platform. The pieces are made of ABS material, which promises durability, and come with a tool that facilitates their application.

Despite speculation about a possible offer of additional aesthetic versions from Nintendo, the company has not yet confirmed plans to release more color combinations for the Switch 2 Joy-Cons. For now, players can take advantage of these customization options while waiting for an eventual release of new versions.

On the other hand, the new Pro controller for the Switch 2, priced at 89.99 euros, will include innovative features such as a C button, gyroscope, accelerometer, and Bluetooth connectivity, while maintaining the classic design. This component aims to provide players with a richer experience tailored to the demands of the modern gamer, thus reflecting Nintendo’s continuous evolution in the video game market.

Nintendo changes the organization of its eShop to prioritize quality games

The digital stores of Nintendo, PlayStation, Xbox, and PC have become essential platforms for exploring and purchasing video games. However, these platforms also face a growing problem: the proliferation of low-quality titles, known as shovelware, that seek to deceive players with imitations or subpar experiences. Examples of this are copies of popular titles like Animal Crossing and The Last of Us, which highlight a dilemma in these digital services. Nintendo changes the organization of its eShop to prioritize quality games

Nintendo, PlayStation, Xbox, and PC digital stores have become essential platforms for exploring and purchasing video games. However, these platforms also face a growing problem: the proliferation of low-quality titles, known as shovelware, that seek to deceive players with imitations or subpar experiences. Examples of this include copies of popular titles like Animal Crossing and The Last of Us, which highlight a dilemma in these digital services.

Nintendo has made a small change that makes a big difference

In light of this situation, Nintendo has implemented a change in the organization of its eShop, modifying the way video games are highlighted. According to an update reported by the YouTube channel GVG, the platform now prioritizes titles based on the revenue generated in the last 72 hours, instead of the sales in 48 hours as was customary. This change aims to reduce the visibility of lower-quality games, which are often distributed at low prices and managed to occupy prominent positions on the sales lists.

With this new policy, a low-quality game priced at 1 euro will need to sell between 60 and 70 units to achieve the same visibility as an exclusive Nintendo title. This adjustment aims to reduce the impact of shovelware on the eShop; however, it also poses a challenge for independent developers offering games at low prices. These creators will now find themselves needing to increase their sales to stand out, which could negatively affect their ability to compete on the platform.

In the long term, it will be interesting to see if this strategy from Nintendo translates into an effective reduction of shovelware or if, on the contrary, it represents an additional burden for indie developers, who bring diversity and creativity to the eShop. The gaming community and industry observers will be watching closely to see how these changes unfold in the video game market.

Diablo 4 is having serious problems with the reliquaries

Season 8 of Diablo 4 was released today, bringing with it new gameplay mechanics, such as boss powers, appearance raid events, a quest line, and a novel battle pass system known as Relicario, aimed at facilitating the acquisition of themed cosmetics. However, the focus is on a technical issue that is affecting some players and has generated a stir on social media.

Numerous Diablo 4 users have reported that the Reliquary system is malfunctioning, leading to the loss of Platinum without receiving any rewards for their purchases. A prominent post on Reddit has garnered over 700 votes and 200 comments, many of which describe similar experiences. “The reliquary is failing and can take your Platinum without granting you ANY reliquary,” warned a player on the platform, and others have expressed their frustration pointing out that, despite having spent Platinum to unlock reliquaries, these do not activate correctly.

The error is already being corrected, but we will have to see if those affected are compensated

A spokesperson for Blizzard commented on the issue, indicating that a server fix is planned for this afternoon, which will address the problem with the purchased Reliquaries. Although the error seems to affect a limited number of players across various platforms, the community is advised to refrain from making purchases in this system until the corresponding patch is applied.

Apart from these technical challenges, the series director mentioned that “live services on Switch have been a bit challenging in the past,” which could influence the arrival of the title on the new console. While players await a solution to this issue, Blizzard continues to work on providing improvements and fresh content for Diablo 4.

The voiceover from Nintendo Direct has not managed to reserve a Nintendo Switch 2

The voiceover from Nintendo Direct has not managed to reserve a Nintendo Switch 2

In an unexpected turn of events, figures close to Nintendo such as Masahiro Sakurai, the director of the Super Smash Bros. series, and Yuichi Nakamura, a prolific voice actor known for his work in Nintendo advertising, have had to enter the pre-order lottery to secure a Nintendo Switch 2 console. Despite their closeness to the company, both have found that there are no shortcuts in the quest for the coveted device.

A Hilarious Rivalry

The scenario became especially comical when, after learning that Sakurai had managed to secure a pre-order, Nakamura expressed his desperation on Twitter, joking that he would cut ties with anyone who got a console before him. This led to a back-and-forth, with references to the 1997 movie, Men in Black, that made a humorous rivalry between them evident. Sakurai commented, through a translator, that “it needs to be forgotten quickly,” referring to the Neuralyzer, the device that erases memories in the movie.

To put an end to this friendly dispute, Sakurai and Nakamura met to recreate a famous scene from Men in Black, where Sakurai used a karaoke microphone as a nod to the Neuralyzer, intending to neuralyze his friend. In a later post, Nakamura shared a melancholic image of a Nintendo Switch with a “2” written on the back, symbolizing his struggle to get one, which adds a layer of sadness to the story.

While Sakurai celebrated his success, other developers, including those linked to projects like the developer of Balatro, were still struggling to get their hands on the coveted console, creating a contrast between the joy of the pre-order and the disappointment among those who have not yet succeeded. This situation reveals not only the demand for the new hardware but also how even those at the top of the industry must face the same difficulties as the general public.

Fans of Hollow Knight: Silksong are in for a treat following the revelation that the highly anticipated game will be released for both Nintendo Switch and the new Nintendo Switch 2 in 2025, without the need to upgrade the console. Matthew Griffin, the game’s marketing and publishing manager, confirmed via a tweet that both models of Switch will receive the title, allowing players to enjoy it without the pressure of acquiring the new console.

Also on Xbox

Additionally, Hollow Knight: Silksong will be available from day one on Xbox Game Pass, which represents a significant saving for players, especially in light of the growing discontent over the high cost of Nintendo’s new system and the game Mario Kart World, becoming one of the most expensive AAA titles ever released.

Nintendo fans have expressed their frustration on social media, calling for a price reduction during live broadcasts like the Treehouse, where demands for lowering the price were evident. This climate of discontent could lead Nintendo to reconsider its pricing strategies.

Recently, the release of new screenshots of Hollow Knight: Silksong has shown remarkable progress in graphical and environmental improvements since its announcement six years ago. These images reflect a more softened atmosphere thanks to a subtle use of light and shadows that promises to enhance the gaming experience.

However, users of the Japanese eShop have faced technical issues that hinder pre-orders for the game, highlighting a high demand since its announcement. For now, fans must wait until 2025 to enjoy Hollow Knight: Silksong, as a more specific release window has not been established.

The Nintendo Switch 2 will officially launch on June 5, and along with it, significant improvements will be implemented in the Nintendo eShop, a matter that has raised concerns among users since the debut of the original console. These updates are expected to address criticisms regarding slow navigation and the abundance of low-quality games that often saturate the digital store.

A much more optimal and pleasant browsing experience

In a recent meeting with developers, Nintendo announced that the advanced capabilities of the Switch 2 hardware will allow for faster and smoother navigation in the eShop. Takuhiro Dohta, senior director of planning and development for Nintendo entertainment, commented that “thanks to the system’s performance capabilities, the eShop on Switch 2 has improved and works seamlessly even when displaying a large number of games”. This improvement aims to make finding the game that users want to play an integral part of the system experience.

In addition, a new feature called Game Finds for You will be introduced, which will facilitate the search for games according to users’ interests and trends. Kouichi Kawamoto, producer in the same area, explained that this feature will allow players to see screenshots and videos of games, displaying a carousel of titles that might interest them, based on their preferences, such as games on their wish list or trending titles.

Users will be able to make pre-orders for the Switch 2 starting April 9, with two options available: an individual console for 469.99 euros or a package that includes a digital copy of Mario Kart World for 509.99 euros. This launch marks a new chapter for Nintendo and could redefine the game purchasing experience in its eShop.

Nintendo continues to reaffirm its commitment to physical media in the next generation of consoles, evidenced by the physical editions of its new console, the Switch 2. Despite the growth of the digital market and the priority that the company has given to its eShop, the most anticipated releases, such as those of the Zelda and Metroid titles, will have cartridge versions. These editions will include the original cartridge along with a download code that will allow access to an update that requires an Internet connection.

Prices that have not dazzled the public

This strategy has generated mixed reactions among the gaming community, especially due to the prices that accompany these versions. The physical titles for Switch 2, such as Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, are available for pre-order at a cost of 79.99 euros in stores in Spain, which represents a notable increase compared to previous releases. Additionally, the Switch 2 console is priced at 470 euros, which, although it has sparked controversy, is considered more accessible compared to previous Nintendo systems.

However, it is important to note that the responses from Nintendo’s support teams do not always provide definitive information, which can lead to confusion among consumers. According to sources from VGC, clarifications regarding features and prices may vary, and what is certain today may change in the future. Although details have been confirmed about the need to download updates to improve games, it would not be surprising if the company reveals more information or adjusts its policies later on.

As the launch of the Switch 2 approaches, video game fans eagerly anticipate the evolution that this new console will bring, especially with titles like Metroid Prime 4: Beyond and Kirby and the Forgotten Land, which promise to offer a significant leap in the gaming experience.

Switch 2 hides a bitter secret for its players: its memory is not as powerful as Nintendo has announced

Nintendo Switch 2, the highly anticipated successor to Nintendo’s flagship console, will offer 256 GB of internal storage at launch. However, this advancement may be overshadowed by the large amount of space that many digital video games require today, raising serious doubts about the console’s ability to store multiple titles. For example, the new Mario Kart World will need 23.4 GB, while Donkey Kong Bananza will ask for a more moderate space of 10 GB. Additionally, the GameCube Nintendo Classics app will only require 3.5 GB, which may seem appealing to players looking for […]

Additionally, the GameCube Nintendo Classics app will only require 3.5 GB, which may seem appealing to players looking to maximize their space.

How much space each game will take, that is the question

Despite the relatively manageable figures of some of these titles, the issue of storage remains. Comparatively, other recent releases on different systems demand much higher figures, such as Street Fighter 6 with 70 GB and Cyberpunk 2077 with 96.67 GB. These storage needs could considerably limit the number of games that users will be able to install on Nintendo’s new console.

Nintendo has improved digital storage management on this new console, allowing the installation of multiple games that were not feasible on the original Switch due to its limited space. However, many users are likely to be forced to invest in new memory cards to expand storage, especially if they want to enjoy a broader catalog of games.

The storage statistics already shared by Nintendo, along with the analysis of the Japanese eShop, suggest that players could install at least six digital games simultaneously, a relief compared to the limitations of the original Switch. However, the 256 GB threshold remains a topic of discussion, as many future games may require more space than the console offers in its factory state.
