As you well know, the OnePlus 13 was unveiled at the beginning of last month, but for now, it can only be purchased in China. Now OnePlus has announced when the phone will be available worldwide: January 2025.

While the international sites of OnePlus 13 continue to say that the phone “is coming soon,” the company has confirmed the January news in a press release. More details about the exact release date will be announced in the coming weeks.

This is the usual practice of OnePlus, and it is not surprising that the flagship phone was launched first in China. It has also been confirmed that all three colors (Midnight Ocean, Black Eclipse, and Arctic Dawn) will be offered worldwide.

Everything We Know About the OnePlus 13

According to the well-known informant Yogesh Brar, the global availability of the OnePlus 13 will coincide with the launch of new wireless earbuds and a smartwatch, which we assume will be the rumored OnePlus Watch 3.

Of course, we already know everything about the OnePlus 13: it uses the latest and greatest Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, which is paired with a massive 24 GB of RAM and up to 1 TB of storage (although these last two details may vary depending on the region).

It is powered by a large capacity 6,000 mAh battery, offering 100 W wired charging and 50 W wireless charging, which is a big step forward compared to the 5,400 mAh battery capacity of the previous model.

It features a 6.82-inch AMOLED display, with a resolution of 1440 x 3168 pixels, and a triple-lens 50 MP + 50 MP + 50 MP rear camera, with 3x optical zoom. On the front, there is a 32 MP selfie camera.

The phone comes with the custom layer OxygenOS 15, which is OnePlus’s version of Android 15. All of this is impressive on paper, we’ll have to see if once it is released it can compete with the best phones of the year.

The most popular horror and fishing game of recent years is coming to your mobile

Among indie games, very few manage to stand out. Even fewer are easy to predict as potential successes. That doesn’t change the fact that we, from the beginning, made things clear about this game: if a game about fishing in a sea infested with otherworldly beasts while trying to understand the mysteries of sinister coastal towns doesn’t work, then we don’t know how video games work. Fortunately, it seems we do. Because Dredge was a complete success. Developed by Black Salt Games, it was one of the games considered among the best games […]

Among indie games, very few manage to stand out. Even fewer are easy to predict as potential successes. That doesn’t change the fact that we, from the beginning, made things clear about this game: if a game about fishing in a sea infested with otherworldly beasts while trying to unravel the mysteries of sinister coastal towns doesn’t work, then we don’t know how video games work. Fortunately, it seems we do know. Because Dredge was a complete success.

Developed by Black Salt Games, one of the games that was in the running for the best games of the year was Dredge. Selling well, receiving great acclaim from critics and the public, and reaching both PC and consoles, it proved that this peculiar mix of fishing game and Lovecraftian horror worked perfectly.

So much so, that it now takes a step further, reaching mobile devices. iOS and Android users will be able to enjoy this terrifying and tense —yet surprisingly relaxing at times— experience starting from December 18th. Mac computer users will also be able to do so, as they will finally be able to play the game thanks to the fact that, taking advantage of the occasion, it is also being ported to the system.

It is currently possible to register on the App Store page for iOS users, although the Play Store page for Android users does not yet exist. This is something expected to be resolved in the coming hours or days. However, what the game’s page on the App Store does suggest is that it will be a free-to-play game that will probably require a one-time payment to fully experience it.

Pending to see the game in motion, Dredge is a game that, due to its particularities, can be easily translated to the logics of mobile control. That’s why it can be an interesting addition to any mobile game collection and, if you haven’t played it, or even if you have played it and want to replay it, perhaps this is the perfect opportunity to give a chance to one of the best games of 2023.

DREDGE is a first-person fishing game designed for single players. It offers numerous unique environments, as well as many different species of fish to catch while players progress. It has an intriguing backstory, though it lacks an online co-op gameplay mode.

Android 15 is going to copy a key security feature from iPhones

We are still waiting for Android 15 to reach users, but a new security feature has been discovered in the beta version of the software, which allows third parties to access your phone. The goal is to ensure that if someone looks over your shoulder in a café and sees you typing your PIN, they cannot use it to access the device, but will have to use facial or fingerprint recognition.

No more prying eyes on your phone

According to another hidden code discovered by the well-known informant @AssembleDebug, it seems that this mandatory biometric check could be activated whenever you are outside places you have marked as “trusted,” such as your home or office.

This fits quite well with the theft detection feature of Android that has already started rolling out on devices, and which is not exclusive to Android 15: it automatically locks the device when it detects a movement that might indicate it has been snatched.

Identity verification protection also aligns with something that iPhones already have, in the form of Apple’s Stolen Device Protection, introduced in iOS 17.3. It means that certain key security actions require Face ID or Touch ID to function, not just the iPhone’s passcode.

Android 15 is already complete and ready to function as we mentioned a few days ago, but the engineers at Google, Samsung, and other Android phone manufacturers are putting the final touches on the software and adapting it to their own devices with additional tools and functionalities.

The latest Pixel phones, including the Google Pixel 9, will be the first to receive Android 15 when it arrives.
