Kimetsu no Yaiba is a prophet in its home
This significant growth at the box office is largely attributed to the massive success of Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle – Part 1, which has captivated audiences of all ages and solidified its place as one of the most popular franchises today. The film, based on the acclaimed manga by Koyoharu Gotouge, has been praised not only for its thrilling narrative but also for its impressive animation quality, which has attracted both fans of the series and new viewers.
As the entertainment world continues to evolve, this triumph highlights the growing influence of anime in global cinematography. With the support of a strong fan base and an effective marketing strategy, Demon Slayer has managed to capture the imagination of audiences in Japan and beyond, demonstrating that anime content has enormous potential in terms of revenue and box office projection.
The Motion Picture Producers Association has highlighted that 2025 has been an exceptional year for Japanese cinema in various categories, but the phenomenon of Demon Slayer has undoubtedly crossed borders and set a new standard of success. As cinemas recover from recent challenges, the impact of films like this is a positive message about the future of cinematic entertainment in Japan.

The series Silicon Valley, acclaimed as one of HBO’s standout comedies, served as a preview of the current state of the tech industry. Premiering in 2014 and concluding in 2019, the show depicted an era marked by the tech gold rush and raised valuable reflections on an ecosystem obsessed with growth. Through a group of programmers and their misadventures trying to launch a startup, the series revealed that while talent is abundant, maturity in the sector is scarce.
Silicon Valley is an appropriate name for the series
Despite having concluded more than five years ago, Silicon Valley has seen a resurgence of its relevance in 2026, coinciding with a climate of increasing scrutiny towards large tech companies and debates about power and responsibility. Topics such as monopolies and ethics in technology have led the series to resurface in cultural conversations, becoming almost a mirror of the current issues in the industry.
One of the most notable aspects of Silicon Valley is its ability to present a glamorless portrait of tech figures, showcasing their insecurities and questionable convictions. This representation resonates particularly at a time when figures like Elon Musk and Bill Gates are the subject of public analysis and debate. The series avoids glorifying these icons, focusing on their more human and erratic facets, which complements the climate of distrust that exists today towards technology.
The sarcastic humor of the show not only makes it accessible but also allows for the exploration of complex concepts, such as technological paternalism, in an understandable way. Silicon Valley thus serves as an emotional entry point for those looking to understand the complex world of technology without falling into technical jargon, reflecting the ambitions, fears, and decisions of characters that evoke real figures from the industry.

Originally released in 1998 by Alcachofa Soft and available on PC since 2019 through platforms like Steam, it will now expand to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch on January 30, 2026. The company Erbe Software, in collaboration with the publisher Ratalaika Games, has confirmed this highly anticipated release.
An iconic game from the 90s
The price at which it will be available is only 5.99 euros, an accessible price that promises to attract both nostalgic players and newcomers. The adventure, which offers a point and click format, will come with texts in Spanish, English, German, and Japanese, maintaining the legendary Spanish voiceover that characterized the original game. In addition, players will be able to enjoy the original music and a CRT filter, which will evoke memories of the golden age of video games.
The Atomic Sulfate is not only a key piece of the Mortadelo and Filemón catalog, but it also marked a milestone in the genre of graphic adventures in Spain. Created by Francisco Ibáñez in 1969, this story revolutionized the comic world and, subsequently, inspired additional developments of video games based on these characters, such as The Meteorological Machine and Two Clumsy Cowboys. Ibáñez’s involvement in the video game adaptation ensures that the jokes and situations adequately reflect the antics of this pair of inept agents.
With this announcement, the interest in classic graphic adventures is rekindled and the enduring relevance of Mortadelo and Filemón in Spanish popular culture is reaffirmed.

Science fiction cinema is gearing up for an exciting 2025, with notable productions including The Day of Revelation by Steven Spielberg, scheduled for June 12, and The Messiah of Dune by Denis Villeneuve, which is expected to premiere on December 18, unless its release is affected by Avengers: Doomsday. However, one of the most anticipated films is Project Salvation, based on the novel Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir, which will be released on March 20, offering viewers a runtime of two hours and 36 minutes.
A Very Long Movie
This adaptation tells the story of science teacher Ryland Grace, played by Ryan Gosling, who wakes up on a spaceship with amnesia and the mission to solve the mystery that could lead to the extinction of the sun. As he regains his memory, the plot delves into the use of scientific knowledge and unexpected relationships, which could provide a deep and thought-provoking narrative, similar to other works like Interstellar and Arrival. However, opinions on the trailer have been mixed; some fans of the novel have high expectations, while others hope the film lives up to the promise of a deeper and more moving story.
The directors, Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, have confirmed that there will be no drastic cuts in the final edit, suggesting that the original material by Weir, which spans over 500 pages in its Spanish version, will be honored. In this sense, Proyecto Salvación could be one of the films that lives up to its title and brings something new to the science fiction genre.
Although neither Proyecto Salvación nor El mesías de Dune have made it to the screen, the anticipation is high. Ryan Gosling, by the way, will return to science fiction in Star Wars: Starfighter, scheduled for May 2027, marking an exciting path for the actor and fans of the cinematic space.

In 2025, the video game industry experienced an unprecedented explosion, with the release of 20,017 games, which amounts to an average of 1,668 titles per month. However, this growth has brought about market saturation that poses significant challenges for developers, especially those in the independent sector.
A man without a filter
Tim Bender, CEO of Hooded Horse, a publisher known for its ethical and fair approach towards developers, has issued a critical warning about the predatory practices of many independent publishers. “The vast majority of independent publishers are opportunists who prioritize their profits over the well-being of creators,” he stated in a recent interview with PC Gamer. Bender emphasizes that these publishers tend to sign a large number of titles, investing only in those that ensure success, while ignoring projects that do not meet their expectations.
Complaints against these practices are supported by prominent developers such as Luca Galante, creator of Vampire Survivors, and the studio Pocketpair, responsible for Palworld. Both have denounced the behavior of certain publishers who use their platforms merely as vehicles to maximize their profits, neglecting the well-being of creators.
This environment has led many studies to opt for self-publishing, an option that today is considered viable and allows developers to maintain control over their projects without relying on problematic publishers. “Nowadays, self-publishing is very viable,” says Bender, reflecting a growing trend in the industry towards self-sufficiency and creative independence.

The new adaptation of The Immortals, directed by Chad Stahelski, promises to revive the legacy of the iconic franchise that has had multiple installments over the decades. After six movies, three series, and countless spin-offs, the first glimpses of this resurrection have been shared by the lead actor, Henry Cavill, through his Instagram account. The images show Cavill as MacLeod in intense fight scenes, generating high expectations among fans.
A man born to be MacLeod
This reboot, which still does not have a release date, has arrived loaded with potential thanks to the considerable budget of 100 million dollars, the same amount received by John Wick 4. With Stahelski at the helm, known for his success in the John Wick saga, interest in a film that seeks not only to pay homage to the original work but also to attract a new audience is heightened. Happy first look at The Immortals! It has been quite an adventure for me, and I hope you enjoy it, Cavill shared in his post.
The cast of the movie includes recognized figures such as Russell Crowe, who will play Ramírez, a character that in the original film was portrayed by Sean Connery, as well as Karen Gillan, Djimon Hounsou, Dave Bautista, Marisa Abela, and Max Zhang. The challenge for this new team will be to compete with the nostalgia evoked by the actors of the classic film and the unforgettable soundtrack by Queen, which accompanied the original narrative.
The strategy of reviving established franchises aligns with the current trend in the industry, where producers seek to ensure success through recognized intellectual properties. From the first images, there is a sense that this new project has what it takes to bring freshness to a story already loved by many.

This release follows the success the title has had on platforms like PS5 and PC, where it has managed to capture the attention of a wide audience. However, the Nintendo version has generated controversy due to its lack of censorship options for sexual content.
Neither nudity nor any kind of sex
In Dispatch, players immerse themselves in the adventure of Robert Robertson, which features a considerable amount of nudity and sexual content. While in the PS5 and PC versions users can activate censorship filters for this type of content, Nintendo players do not have that option. This has led to criticism, especially in a contemporary context, where greater flexibility in the content that developers can offer is expected.
The developer AdHoc has explained that it was forced to adapt to Nintendo’s demands, which resulted in this mandatory censorship. Although seeing nudity is not essential to the gaming experience, many players and critics are disappointed with these imposed restrictions. The inability to opt for an uncensored experience feels particularly unfortunate in a year like 2026, where the gaming industry has evolved towards a more inclusive and open approach.
Since AdHoc, they have kept in touch with the community, seeking to learn from these criticisms. Although the decision to censor part of the content may have been a strategy to adapt to the Nintendo market, it is undeniable that it has sparked a conversation about creative freedom and the limits of censorship in video games.

The highly anticipated vampire RPG, Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2, hit the market with a lukewarm reception, leaving many fans disappointed after years of waiting. Although it is not among the most disastrous releases of 2025, it has been labeled as one of the year’s major disappointments, especially given the long anticipation surrounding its development. The public’s response was moderate, and The Chinese Room’s game failed to make the expected impact.
A tremendously ambitious roadmap
Despite this reception being below expectations, the studio Paradox Interactive has published a roadmap for 2026, indicating its intention to improve and expand the gaming experience. The plan demonstrates a clear commitment from the publisher, which has decided not to abandon the project, despite the negative comments surrounding it on platforms like Steam.
The first major update, known as the Valentine’s Update, will be released on February 11 and will include new cosmetic items, customization options such as facial hair, and bug fixes. This update is primarily designed to polish the gaming experience before the arrival of more ambitious content in the future.
In addition, Paradox has made adjustments to the release windows of the planned expansions. Loose Cannon, which was initially expected in the second quarter of 2026, could now arrive between the first and second quarters of the year, while The Flower and the Flame, which was scheduled for the third quarter, is moving to a forecast between the second and third quarters. Although these expansions aim to expand the narrative and character development, their actual impact on the main story is still uncertain.
Paradox is confident that the post-launch content will help improve the game’s image and reconcile with a community that expected much more from its return. The future of Bloodlines 2 looks promising, as long as the expectations of the fan base align with the upcoming news.

Apple TV has closed a deal with renowned author Brandon Sanderson to bring his vast literary universe known as the Cosmere to the screen. This universe includes popular sagas such as Mistborn and The Stormlight Archive, among others. What distinguishes this deal is that Sanderson will be actively involved in the development and production of the adaptations, maintaining creative control as executive producer, which will allow him to decide on scripts and ensure fidelity to his novels.
Apple TV has hit the jackpot
This creative control is particularly relevant given that Sanderson has historically been reluctant to cede his works for adaptations. Recently, he had expressed that “it was not yet the time” to adapt his work. However, it seems that Apple’s offer, which includes the commitment to allow him to write and control the narrative, has changed his mind. The first adaptation will focus on Mistborn, possibly as a film franchise, followed by The Stormlight Archive, which would be developed as a series.
The goal of Apple TV is to build a coherent narrative universe that spans different formats, something that has resonated with the vast community of Sanderson fans, who have already shown enthusiasm on social media. In terms of cinematic potential, the Cosmere is compared to phenomena like Harry Potter and The Lord of the Rings, given its appeal and the number of readers it has.
While Apple has demonstrated its capability with projects like Foundation, the Cosmere narrative offers an interconnected framework designed from the beginning, which could provide a solid foundation for successful adaptations. Additionally, Apple is not only acquiring a collection of existing stories, but also investing in an expanding literary franchise, with new novels planned for the coming years.

If you are dedicated to retouching images professionally, I don’t need to tell you the great amount of time you can end up investing in it. What initially seemed easy is no longer so, and minutes turn into hours. In this article, we will help you by showing you how you can save a lot of time with Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Firefly.
Why Retouching is One of the Most Time-Consuming Tasks in Creative Work
Photo retouching jobs are generally time-consuming. One of the main reasons is the heavy workload that a creative faces. If you find yourself working on a campaign, for example, you will have dozens or hundreds of images to edit, some with minor changes and others with more significant ones.
Repetitive tasks, such as dusting, removing stains, or eliminating small items can also be draining, especially if you have many to do in a short time. Those who work in creative fields are more than used to quick and last-minute deliveries, so it is essential to have a program that facilitates tasks and does not become a burden. Photoshop, along with Firefly, is one of those programs that does precisely that.
What “faster retouching” really means (and what it doesn’t mean)
Accelerating does not mean doing it worse but faster; it is more about removing the unnecessary. And we can save time on the “mechanical” without cutting quality. In the field of professional retouching, the key is to decide what to change and what to keep. With tools powered by AI, for example, we can speed up processes while maintaining creative control at all times.
How Photoshop and Firefly Work Together in Retouching Tasks
From the outside, many may think that Firefly works like a kind of magic button capable of granting our wishes and retouching photos for us. Fantasies aside, Firefly resembles more of an assistant that can help you speed up tasks.
This can help you quickly remove objects from a scene, extend a background if you need more space, and more, as we will see later. Photoshop acts as the hub from where everything is executed (as you have been doing so far).
If you’re wondering whether using Firefly could be problematic in your work with clients, we clear up the doubt: Firefly is completely commercially safe. Since its inception, Adobe’s AI has been trained with licensed content, like the one we find in Adobe Stock. If you want, you can also attach the so-called Content Credentials to your work. These act as a kind of “digital label” indicating whether AI was used in the image or not.
A practical workflow for retouching with Photoshop + Firefly
Now it’s time to put into practice all the benefits of Photoshop and Firefly that we were discussing earlier.
Let’s start with the basics, an image. Open one of the images you want to edit with Photoshop and begin with the essentials: cropping, color correction, exposure… Our starting point should be solid, as it will make everything much faster later on.
Now we will use Firefly for retouching. Inside Photoshop, we will see a floating menu with several options, such as Select subject and Remove background. With the first option, you can automatically select the main element of the photograph (the portrait, in our case). With Remove background, you can quickly remove the background with very good results.
If you choose the Rectangular marquee tool and select the entire photograph, we will see a new tool in the contextual menu, Generative Fill. Powered by Firefly, it is used to add or remove parts of an image with a prompt. Here, we will click on it and write a prompt to change the image and its background. Finally, we select Generate.
To the right of the text box, you will also see the Google symbol. From there you can switch generative AI models between the proprietary one, Firefly, or other third-party models (Nano Banana, GPT Image, etc). Each model will give you a different result. If you use Firefly, you will have multiple generations to choose from in the Properties panel.
If we wanted to expand the background of our image, for example, we have another very useful tool, Generative extend. To use it, click on the Crop tool. With it, stretch the image to enlarge the canvas and click on Generative Expand.
Who benefits the most from this workflow?
Photoshop and the built-in functions with Firefly are usually available within the Creative Cloud ecosystem, making it easier to maintain shared material libraries, for example. With Adobe, teamwork becomes much easier for everyone, both for the executor and the reviewer.
Common mistakes when retouching with AI
Although AI accelerates processes, you shouldn’t go crazy either. When editing with AI in Photoshop, avoid unrealistic effects or losing the fidelity of the product you are working with. Don’t forget to check with your own eyes; what “looks good” at a small size can be a complete disaster when enlarged.
If you find it necessary, create a list of things to review before moving to another image: Is the product still the same? Does it look natural? Does it fit with the visual identity I am looking for?
Creative Cloud Offers
If you still don’t have Photoshop and want to try it, Adobe offers you many options to access it. When we talk about Creative Cloud, we refer to the Adobe ecosystem, which includes your account, Adobe applications, and their services (the cloud, libraries with resources, and more).
In the case of individuals, you can use Creative Cloud Pro, Creative Cloud Standard, or use individual applications. Creative Cloud Pro includes more than 20 Adobe applications, such as Photoshop or Illustrator. Additionally, it has access to more advanced Firefly AI features.
Creative Cloud Standard is very similar to the Pro plan, as it also includes the same number of applications. The difference is that it comes with fewer AI features. If you are only interested in a specific program, you can subscribe to that program at a lower price.
Teachers and students have access to a special Creative Cloud Pro plan with a great discount, ideal for use in your classes or for learning. Teams and businesses also have another type of plan, with various options to choose from based on their needs.
Faster retouching without losing quality
The speed of truth does not come from “automating the touch-ups,” but from automating the repetitive, without neglecting your visual judgment. Using Firefly as an aid within Photoshop takes away the most mechanical tasks (distractions, small imperfections, backgrounds that need space) and gives you more time for what is necessary: consistency, product fidelity, and good finishes. In that balance lies the key.
