It is the rumor that has been accompanying us for years, even before Daniel Craig decided to step aside and stop playing James Bond: his replacement would be Idris Elba, the star of Luther and The Wire who fit the role perfectly. Now, at 53 years old, he has popped the balloon and forever broken the rumors that tied him to the character. Zero zero nothing. His name is Elba. Idris Elba. “I always felt that it wasn’t something realistic,” he explained, making it clear that the tuxedo will be worn by someone else. It is the rumor that has been with us for years, even before Daniel Craig decided to step aside and stop playing James Bond: his replacement would be Idris Elba, the star of Luther and The Wire who would fit the role perfectly.
“I always felt that it wasn’t something realistic”, he explained, making it clear that the tuxedo will be worn by someone else. But of course, he also knows perfectly well what the reason is: “James Bond was written the way it was for a reason. But I felt honored. And besides, I think, in realistic terms, some markets simply won’t want something like that. Bond is big worldwide, and the audience won’t want a black man, an African man, playing Bond. It’s not what they like in their culture. Period”.
But of course, James Bond couldn’t die either, and at the end of the last movie, he ended up exploding into a thousand pieces. Is there a possibility for change? “Bond is so unreal that a little bit of reality is fine, but let’s not try to make it woke. I think you have to be true to what it is: escapism. Don’t try to cater to the public’s appetites. Just be Bond”. Honestly, few people understand Bond as well… as the one who refuses to be him.
Everything is still up in the air, and no one knows who the next Bond will be, which actors are auditioning, or whether any of them is named Idris and has the last name Elba. What? Above all, let’s not lose hope.

One of the most surprising announcements from the recent Xbox Games Showcase was Crazy Taxi. A beloved Sega arcade series known for its frenetic pace, catchy music, and endless fun will return to current generation consoles and PC to the delight of fans with a revamped visual style, promising to respect everything that made the original game great. Except for one problem. The AI has found a way to make its mark in the game.
The disappointment has arrived when, on the game’s Steam page, it was clarified that the new Crazy Taxi has used AI tools to create the game. While it does not specify for what purpose or to what extent, emphasizing that they were not used to design the characters and that they were used so that the creatives could focus on the artistic tasks of the process, this has not been well received among fans. Creating a bitter taste in an announcement that, initially, had been tremendously celebrated.
An arcade classic
The Crazy Taxi franchise was born in arcades in 1999, later being released on Dreamcast, becoming one of the biggest successes of Sega’s console. From there, a cult success franchise would emerge, with its latest installment, Crazy Taxi: City Rush, being a free-to-play game for Android and iOS released in 2014. More than ten years later, it returns to consoles, originally announced at The Game Awards 2023, but nothing has been known about the game since then.
Microsoft has announced the release date for Gears of War: E-Day. They did so last Sunday, June 7, during the Xbox Games Showcase, where they presented some of their exclusives for both 2026 and 2027. Positioning the new installment of Gears of War as their next big bet for the fall of 2026, being the grand year-end closing for Microsoft, they took the opportunity to do a deep dive into the game and show us more about it. Classic, but modern Taking us to the origins of the Locust invasion, the creatures that threaten to wipe out humanity, the […]
Taking us back to the origins of the Locust invasion, the creatures that threaten to wipe out humanity, the game takes place 14 years before the first game, with these creatures decimating humanity in a matter of hours.
The game will tell the story of these first hours of the invasion, with Marcus Fenix dressed casually and adapting to the circumstances as best as he can, trying to prevent the extinction of humanity. Even if, as we know, things will not go well for either humanity or for him personally.
Promising that they have rebuilt from scratch the foundations of the original games, while respecting what made them special, they have abandoned the open world of the latest installments in favor of a more classic gameplay, but with a more modern flavor. With larger environments, greater destructibility, and a faster style, it feels like Gears of War, but much more dynamic and spectacular than ever.

Last Sunday, June 7, the Xbox Games Showcase took place where some of the most important titles that we will see for the rest of 2026 and in 2027 were announced. Among these was one of the most anticipated games by fans of Japanese role-playing, and although it was known to be in development, it was not officially known yet. And now, at last, Persona 6 has been announced.
Announced almost 10 years after the release of its previous installment, Persona 5, the game has been announced with a brief teaser that has only provided us with a logo, the color of the installment (green), and the consoles it will be released on: PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Additionally, it will be available on Xbox Game Pass at launch. Apart from this, no new information about the game has been directly provided, which remains shrouded in complete mystery.
A game with more details than it seems
Except for the fact that the Xbox Store page for Persona 6 offers some new details about the game. In addition to the classic aspects of the Persona saga, such as the returning social links and the school setting, the game will feature “strange rumors, unsettling urban legends, and hidden incidents that only you and your closest allies can face.” This seems to bring it closer to the style of Persona 2: Innocent Sin, rather than the last two installments of the franchise.
Although there is no release date, the game has already been announced. But Atlus will still have to release its next game, also featured at this event: Persona 4 Revival, scheduled for February 18, 2027. So, at least, it seems that we will still have to wait until well into 2027 to see a new Persona.
Open almost any social network these days and the screen fills up with one thing: video. Short, long, vertical, horizontal. That tidal wave is the reason video editors have stopped being a niche tool and become an everyday essential for content creators.
Among the thousands of things you can do with Adobe Premiere Pro, there’s one that’s pretty much non-negotiable: adding music and sound to your videos. Below, you’ll see how easy it is, and how quickly you can pull it off on your own, even if you’ve never touched Premiere Pro in your life.
With your videos ready, open Adobe Premiere Pro and create a new project by clicking on New Project. Type the name in Project name and pick where to save it on your PC under Location. You can grab a preset template from Templates, but it isn’t essential.
Now, select the video or videos you’ll lay the music over. From the left panel you’ll see the different locations on your PC, so you can jump straight to the folder where the clips live.
When you’re done selecting, click Import (if you don’t spot it on the first try, the button sits in the bottom right corner). Then drag the music file or sound effect directly onto the timeline. The other route is to go to File > Import. Don’t lose track of your assets: everything lives in the Project panel.
Once imported, drag the audio onto the timeline. All audio tracks sit below the video clips, both the ones you add yourself and the ones that came baked into the video. Premiere Pro displays them as a sound wave, which helps you see where the silences or volume peaks are.
Adjust it on the timeline
Once the music is on the timeline, you can move it, cut it with the Razor Tool (C), or stretch it, the same way you would with a video clip.
You can also add fade-in and fade-out effects so the music doesn’t start or end abruptly. It feels more natural and pleasant in general, though it all depends on the effect you’re going for.
If you want the music to gradually drop in volume at the end until it goes silent, select the audio clip and head to Properties. With that in view, go back to the timeline and, with the audio selected, position the playhead at the point in the video where you want the volume to start dropping. That should be a little before the actual end of the video. Then go back to Properties and click on the small diamond symbol (Keyframe). Return to the timeline, move the playhead to the end of the video, and on the Volume slider, drop it to the minimum.
A good trick is to make the music move with the visual rhythm of the video. If there’s a big shift in the imagery, a title card or a transition, try to line it up with a standout moment in the music.
And if you need something extra… you can always use Adobe Stock
One mistake we all make when adding music to a video is using songs without checking the rights first. If the videos are just for you, nothing happens. If you upload them to social media, that’s a different story: get ready for platform takedowns, copyright claims and similar headaches.
To avoid all of that, you can use Adobe Stock Audio, Adobe’s own library of royalty-free music and sound. From there you can search tracks by style, duration, mood or tempo, preview them, and pick the one that fits your video best.
You’ll find it especially useful for commercial pieces, branded content, ads or social media. Instead of wasting time hunting for music on third-party sites, you can find any track without leaving Premiere Pro. To use it, go to File > Search Adobe Stock….
You’ll see that, alongside sounds, there are templates, videos and images. From the official Adobe Stock page you can check the different pricing tiers, all depending on the material you end up using.
Set the volume and export your project
Making sure your video has the right volume balance is critical. Select the audio clip and adjust its volume from the Effect Controls or directly on the timeline. A practical rule: if there’s voice, drop the music until the narration is easy to follow without strain.
Listen to the video on headphones and through speakers, because what sounds great on one device might not on another. Keep in mind: when the sound is bad, you notice straight away; when it’s good, nobody complains.
Adobe Premiere Pro is available through Adobe’s Creative Cloud, with a free trial that lets you test the full editor before you commit. You can grab it on its own as a single-app plan or as part of the All Apps bundle if you also work with Photoshop, After Effects or Adobe Stock. Check Adobe’s official pricing for current rates.
Okay, do you want me to tell you what my problem is with the new Scooby-Doo: Origins? No, seriously. A little consistency, please!
Scooby-dooby-doo!
This new version of Scooby-Doo, which comes to replace the five live-action movies made between 2002 and 2018 (the last three went straight to television or DVD), will take place on the last day of a camp where a supernatural murder has occurred. Hey, why not? The last time we heard about the Scooby gang was in the HBO series Velma, and that, after all, was absolutely disliked by everyone. They deserve a second chance!
For now, in addition to the first image of the cast, we have been able to take a look at the main dog, and I don’t know if he will solve mysteries, but I want to cuddle him as much as I can. However, there is some bad news: instead of being a simple dog, like in the cartoon versions, here he will talk with the voice of Frank Welker, because we can’t have anything nice.
If there is an audience for a new version of Scooby-Doo or not, I’m afraid that’s something even Netflix doesn’t know. But well, just to try, what is lost beyond time, money, and the legitimacy of a classic franchise?
Two months and a bit. That’s how long it has taken Super Mario Galaxy to progress, very little by little, until it became one of the 63 films in cinema history to surpass 1 billion dollars. Moreover, it achieved this by getting ahead of Michael and being the first film of 2026 to do so. It doesn’t look like its journey will go much further, so Illumination and Nintendo can be quite pleased. Mario, number one! The truth is that, although it has reached 1 billion with a budget of […]

Mario, number one!
The truth is that, although it has made 1 billion with a budget of only 110 million (multiplying by 9 and yielding substantial profits), this sequel has been a bit of a disappointment considering that Super Mario Bros managed to accumulate 1.36 billion. In other words: it has made it to the end, but without the mushroom that makes it great.
Nintendo’s next litmus test is clear: The Legend of Zelda, which on April 30 of next year will dominate all headlines for better or, as some suspect, for worse. After that we will have to wait until 2029 to see the new movie of the plumber, so all that’s left is to sit and wait: if the word-of-mouth isn’t good, it may just graze the crossbar of 1 billion.
Illumination has another chance this year to dazzle at the box office with the release of the third installment of the Minions. Although it seems that the franchise in question has already reached its peak, the whims of the audience are unpredictable these days. Mamma mia!
Do you remember the craze we all had with Among Us during the pandemic? Few groups of friends escaped the endless games and looking for the traitor while fixing things here and there. But time passed, the game faded away, and now, in the middle of 2026, it still has about 6000 players on average. Enough to keep the servers running, but not enough to create an entire franchise. It’s the traitor!
Now, suddenly and without warning, Paramount+ has released 10 episodes of its animated series, and people are surprised because it is genuinely good. How could it not be, if besides being a simple corporate crossover, behind it is Owen Dennis, the creator of the award-winning Infinity Train? It is not at all clear that the audience will approach this version of the characters, but without a doubt, they should.
The truth is that it has been a surprise, because the series had been sitting in a drawer since 2024, when production finished, and there were not a few who thought that perhaps they had simply written it off before its release. At the same time, they have taken the opportunity to announce that a narrative single-player spin-off, Among Us Story: On Guard, is in development.
Unlike Angry Birds, which has repeated itself to the point of exhaustion, Among Us has managed to reinvent itself. Now it remains to be seen if the audience understands it or, on the contrary, identifies it as the one and only true impostor.

Looking back now, it’s clear that Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio had incredible luck in accepting the role in Titanic. However, at that time not everyone saw it the same way and there were critics who questioned James Cameron and his megalomaniac work. It was the first film in history to surpass 1000 (and 2000) million and held the title of the highest-grossing film in history until he surpassed himself with Avatar. A huge success, indeed.
Near, far, wherever you are
One of these critics, who imagined that the movie was going to be a success for everyone except for the actors starring in it, was John C. Reilly, one of the best actors in modern history, who tried to get DiCaprio to abandon Cameron to star in Boogie Nights directed by Paul Thomas Anderson. By the way, it’s a great film.
Reilly, who has known DiCaprio since he was young, got together with him to tell him his truth: “Listen, Leo, let me tell you something. Titanic is about a ship that sinks. Everyone knows the ship sinks. No one is going to give a damn who is on the ship“. One cannot say that the story has proven him right, for sure.
To convince him, he spoke wonders of Anderson: “This guy, this director, is going to be one of the most talented in some time, and you shouldn’t miss this opportunity”. That said, he was right, but DiCaprio wanted to continue with Titanic because his agents convinced him that he had to do something big. “I’m telling you, man, I’m telling you, I wouldn’t lie to you. It’s about a ship that sinks,” Reilly insisted.
In the end, Mark Wahlberg starred in Boogie Nights and gave an incredible performance, while DiCaprio would eventually team up with Paul Thomas Anderson in the fabulous The Master. In the end, as is not often the case in Hollywood, everyone came out winning.
Animated and live-action movie mixes are scarce. Those that work well are even fewer. There is a certain tendency to think that these are two worlds that must remain perfectly separate, and experience shows that this is not necessarily true: animation works well with live action if done thoughtfully. Animated and live-action movie blends are scarce. That they work well is even less common. There is a tendency to think that these are two worlds that must remain perfectly separate, and experience shows that this is not necessarily true: animation works well with live action if done thoughtfully. This was demonstrated to us in the 90s by a movie that has now arrived on Disney+, even though critics despised it. We are talking about none other than Space Jam.
An example of jordanmania
Directed by Joe Pytka in 1996, the movie had a very simple premise: what if the Looney Tunes had to face a basketball game that they couldn’t win under any circumstances? Obviously, they would need to find an ally who could help them win. That’s the logic of cartoons. And if it’s 1996, there’s only one person you can count on for that: Michael Jordan.
In 2026, it is impossible to conceive what Michael Jordan was like between approximately 1992 and 1998, especially in the US. Jordanmania was a true revolutionary movement that went beyond basketball, and even beyond sports. Michael Jordan was the total athlete, a brand in itself, not only dominating basketball and making headlines not just for his achievements on the court, but also off it. Opening the NBA, and sports in general, to levels of mainstream popularity that were previously unthinkable.
In that sense, the success of the movie was a foregone conclusion. Mixing the real Michael Jordan with the Looney Tunes, not as popular as in previous decades but still with an evident appeal, was an obvious formula for success. And so it was.
Costing 80 million, it managed to raise 250 million dollars. And it became a mass phenomenon. Dragging the popularity of Jordan himself, it became the tenth highest-grossing film of the year, the highest-grossing basketball movie in history —until 2022, when it was surpassed by The First Slam Dunk, an anime by Takehiko Inoue—, and it captivated the audience, especially children. Not so much the critics, who considered it a film with little substance and even less interest. Even so, it managed to prevail in a handful of specialized awards.
A new legacy a little poor
Despite its success, the movie would take years to have a sequel. Why? Because they considered different ways to approach it. They thought about returning to basketball, but there was no other star like Jordan. They considered doing it with other sports and other athletes who had an equivalent draw to Jordan, like Tony Hawk in skateboarding or Tiger Woods in golf, but none of these ideas came to fruition. Until in 2021 they decided to keep it simpler and return to basketball with a new star.
Space Jam: A New Legacy is the Looney Tunes getting into trouble again with a basketball game, but this time turning to another great player of the moment: LeBron James. With one problem. LeBronmania does not exist. While it is true that LeBron is a very popular player who has experienced tremendous success in the NBA and can be considered to have even surpassed Jordan in many ways, neither the sport nor his particular public situation is the same. This is something that has been noticeable in the movie.
While it excited the audience, it did not respond by going to theaters as a result. Raising 163 million with a cost of 150, being torn apart by critics for its lack of originality or quality and without any awards to its name, this dictated the end of Space Jam. Even when a sequel was already planned. One in which the Looney Tunes were going to feature Dwayne Johnson, aka The Rock, to fight in tense wrestling duels.
Whether it’s because you have nostalgia for the original movie, because you are one of the people who were excited about the sequel, both, or just because you are curious about them, now both Space Jam movies are available on Disney+. And while they may no longer be the triple threat they once were or pretended to be, they are still enjoyable movies for a good popcorn and Coca-Cola Sunday.
