Netflix appears to be going all-in for Halloween. Remember the late 90s TV show “Sabrina the Teenage Witch” with Melissa Joan Hart? Imagine that, but way darker. It stars “Mad Men” actress Kiernan Shipka as the title character. Add a dash of “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” a touch of “Mean Girls,” a hint of “Harry Potter,” and some spooky “Stranger Things” vibes and you’ve got what looks like a surefire hit.

Did we just get leaked features for Google Pixel 3?

Watch this leaked video for what might be an early glimpse at this awesome new phone.

Last week was a big one for Google, but not for the reasons you might think (or the reasons they’d want). Alleged leaks in Ukraine and Russia might have just given us an official look at not only the unboxing of the Google Pixel 3, but some of its key features too.

Supposedly we’ll be receiving a lot more information about the phone come October 9th, but if even half the leaked information from this video uploaded by MySmartPrice turns out to be true we already have a pretty good idea of what we’re in for with the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL:

As expected, the Pixel 3 will feature a ton of your standard apps: calendars, browsers, mail, files, maps, and the like. With two upward swipes, you’ll have access to your full catalog making for quick accessibility. Drop the app on your home screen and you’ll be presented with options for how you’d like to open it. Downward swipe to access and manage your text messages, emails, as well as basic functions like battery power, Bluetooth, and flashlight. As before users can squeeze the sides of the Pixel to launch Google Assistant.

It’s nothing groundbreaking, but further on in the video we start seeing some newer innovations: Take a picture of an email on a business card and it opens up a draft of an email to them. This would be pretty for storing new contacts and just for a more simplified approach to managing business connections. Not bad, Google.

Another neat new feature is the phone’s ability to recognize the name of a restaurant out of context – hold down the name and on option pops up to make a reservation there. You can also long-hold the power button to screenshots, which would have been handy with the Pixel 2.

Based on this video, however, it seems we’re seeing very few big improvements or any markedly new ideas. Google does seem to be keeping up with the competition, and is focusing more on streamlining our commonly-used functions. At least that means they’re paying attention to both the consumer and the competition.

Speaking of the competition, the unboxing video shared last week shows it’s got a lot more gadgetry included per order than Apple does with their new iPhone XS:

We may be seeing the rumored ‘pixel stand,’ which is the Pixel’s wireless charger. If we are really getting a wireless charger we admit that’d be pretty cool. According to MySmartPrice, the pixel stand will also turn your Pixel 3 into a smart display with fully integrated shortcuts for your music apps, Google Assistant, and notifications.

Other rumors include forward-facing speakers, two front-facing cameras, and … a set of earbuds included with every box (was that so hard, Apple??)!

Does all this sound suspicious to you?

It does to us.

Whether what we’re seeing is leaked footage from a planned commercial, a counterfeit phone, or some random accident altogether is still unclear. As such, everything we think we know will likely remain conjecture until next week.

Netflix has changed what we expect out of TV today: no commercials, binging entire seasons at once, and low-priced memberships. With this next update, it’s showing no sign of slowing down.

According to a report from Bloomberg, Netflix has a few original series in the works that will be interactive, or have some interactive episodes. That’s right – you’ll have the opportunity to choose the storyline and what happens to some of your favorite characters.

There are plans to release some of these interactive episodes before the end of 2018, and a lot of Netflix bingers seem to think that “Black Mirror” is the perfect candidate. If you’ve seen any of the science fiction anthology, you’ll know how intense it is. Every episode has a twist, each more shocking or unsettling than the last. Becoming part of the madness would be a truly incredible experience and if done right, Netflix may be onto something revolutionary.

The streaming service has tried interactive elements in shows already; a children’s show called “Puss in Book” lets kids choose which adorable villain the “Shrek” character will battle. With “Black Mirror,” it would be the first time a show with an interactive element will be targeted to an adult audience.

There isn’t any word on what exactly the other interactive projects are right now, but the sources who spoke to Bloomberg noted that two of them are video game adaptations – and we are really hoping that one of them is “The Witcher.” Such a popular game with an incredibly rich storyline is sure to be a hit, since the game relied heavily on the player’s choices. Whatever the decision may be, we’re super excited.

After “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2” was released, Potterheads everywhere mourned for the loss of new material about their favorite trio. We didn’t have to wait for long – even though “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” does not relate to Harry, Ron and Hermione directly, the chance to revisit the Harry Potter universe was like Christmas come early. New information about other parts of the magical and muggle world before Potter’s birth was amazing. Learning about Newt Scamander’s story and how it ties into Professor Dumbledore’s was enough to make us whip out our Harry Potter books and compare notes with what we already know.

Now, we have even more reason to be excited to be Potterheads. Even though these are technically just whispers and nothing has been confirmed yet, according to Variety, Reddit user VapeThisBro wrote on his page that he was part of a focus group that was shown a video of the game in a mall and asked to take a survey. He was able to record the video of an open world Harry Potter game and managed to pass readers a little sneak peek, but Warner Bros. caught wind of it and had it taken down. We got to see it before that happened, and in the one-minute video, we saw thorough character creation and customization, a player in third-person casting spells and learning about magical creatures, and the ability to explore the Hogwarts castle and its grounds.

Also in the Reddit thread was a plot outline for the game – take this with a grain of salt, since it was not anywhere in the leaked footage:

Set in the 19th Century (1800’s) Wizarding World, this 3rd person open-world action RPG game centers around your character with unique abilities who has eared (sic) a late acceptance to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. You are a newly arrived 5th year student to Hogwarts that demonstrates a latent gift for magic with a unique ability to track and identify remnants of a pottant (sic) ancient power.

Upon arrival, strange events begin to materialize in the Forbidden Forest and trouble begins to brew within the castle walls. The Shadow Stones

Fornite players will remember the appearance of the mysterious purple cube towards the end of Season 5. The giant purple monolith roamed about the map over a period of several days, emblazoning different areas with mysterious purple glyphs that seemed to have anti-gravity properties. Finally, the cube disappeared beneath the surface of Loot Lake, turning the surface a neon purple color.

With the advent of Season 6, the cube has risen… taking Loot Lake’s abandoned house with it several hundred feet into the air. Though the cube’s intentions remain a mystery, we now know it to be a Shadow Stone. Smaller shadow stones can be found scattered around the map as consumables. Using them lets you take on your Shadow Form. Lasting 45 seconds, Shadow Form allows you to turn totally invisible while standing still, phase through objects, increase your movement speed and jump height, and become totally immune to fall damage. The items have had to be patched several times due to glitches, but should be back in the game shortly.

New Locations

The map itself has also undergone some huge changes. Loot Lake has undergone a total makeover: the house at the center of the lake now floats above the cube, leaving a swirling purple-tinged whirlpool at the center. Falling into the center of the pool won’t kill you… but it will send you flying. This is in keeping with the anti-gravity properties demonstrated by the cube.

Also obvious from the sky is the huge gothic castle now looming above Haunted Hills. This creepy, vampiric abode is home to several chests and some spooky gothic decor. It’s somewhat difficult to reach, however… unless you parachute directly onto it, you’ll have to build ramps up the side of the hill to gain access.

The crops at Fatal Fields are coming along nicely. Now present are vast fields of corn that totally obscure your vision when you enter them. This can lead to some horror movie-worthy encounters as your opponents hunt you through the cornstalks. The fields can also allow you to get the upper hand and lose enemies that are chasing you.

Older locations have also undergone makeovers. The superhero mansion from Season 4 is crumbling into ruins. Windows have been boarded up and furniture removed, and the exterior is overgrown by plants and vines. The villain lair on the outskirts of Snobby Shores is also in a similar state of disrepair, with the bunker slowly disintegrating.

Other locations on the map have also received some spooky, Halloween themed cosmetic upgrades, such as this house in Pleasant Park. Ghosts are also hanging from streetlights in Tilted Towers and on windmills in Fatal Fields. It’s all in keeping with Season 6’s new dark theme.

Mysterious Glyphs

Players will also notice that the areas marked by glyphs in Season 5 have undergone some dramatic changes. The surrounding areas have morphed into grey, blighted wasteland. Sound in these areas is eerily dampened except for a mysterious pulsing noise, gnarled trees stretch skyward, and the glyphs emanate unearthly light. The function of these glyphs is still a mystery… but the cube is apparently calling them home. As of this article, the cube and the house above it have floated across the map to the glyph near Pleasant Park.

Positioning directly above the glyph, the cube has begun ripping the symbol out of the ground, apparently attempting to assimilate it into its form somehow. It’s unclear why the cube is doing this- or what will happen when the ritual is complete- but it seems like it’ll have some dark implications for the Battle Royale map.

One of the most annoying things about the internet is the ads.

If you search the internet for anything, nearly all the pages that you’ll go to will be covered in ads. Ads help pay the people bringing you some of your favorite content, but we’re right there with you if you’ve closed out of your browser because too many ads slow down your computer. Even news sources now will only show you one paragraph of the entire article before they ask you to pay to see the rest.

Ads have been presented as a necessary evil, one of those things that we just have to learn to deal with in order to get what we ask for. All we want to do is know who the actor is who plays that one character in that show. That’s it! It’s so frustrating – but we might have found a way to both get around the ads and help pay the people who are just trying to give us the entertainment and information that we crave.

Coil was launched by Stefan Thomas, the former chief technology officer of Ripple Labs. With Coil, content creators on some of the biggest platforms like YouTube, Twitch, and Wikipedia will be able to accept payment in the form of XRP tokens, number three on the list of most valuable cryptocurrency.

In a post on Medium, Thomas says that he has stepped down from Ripple to continue work on Coil, which will “provide a third option outside of advertising and side-by-side subscription models.”

Right now, Coil is invite-only. But if you download it, you’ll pay a flat $5 monthly fee to bypass paywalls with the use of the XRP and Interledger technology created at Ripple. This tech will use cryptocurrency to pay any content creator using a program called Web Monetization which transfers small quantities of money.

There isn’t a set launch date for Coil, but when it’s available there won’t be a need for a ton of ads up on websites or popping up in videos. Download the Chrome extension and the creators will get more money as you spend more time on their website. How to make perfect scrambled eggs

Start your morning with the world’s best scrambled eggs!

Nailing good scrambled eggs is like trying to brew the perfect cup of tea – you’ll likely fail time and time again trying to recreate that one perfect instance where you got it just right, where you happen to let the tea steep just long enough, add just that right amount of cream or sugar to achieve that singular spot-on experience.

You’ll wake up the next morning and enthusiastically try to brew that same cup of tea again, measuring out just the right amount, timing how long you steep, even using the same cup … but somehow it’s not right. The magic just isn’t there. Can anyone relate?

Maybe we’re just projecting …

Scrambled eggs are one of the simplest breakfast foods you can make, and yet – like that cup of tea or a really good steak – getting it just right each time somehow evades us. One of the biggest contributing factors is that since so many people prep their eggs differently it becomes easy to over-complicate the dish, adding too many ingredients, cooking them for overly long, or getting the wrong consistency.

How to make perfect scrambled eggs

What you’ll need:

2 eggs
butter (preferably stick)
olive oil
thyme
chives
salt
black pepper

First off, it’s two eggs per portion. The fresher the better, and you can tell by checking out the membrane when you crack it. Alton Brown explains here just what that looks like:

Crack your eggs into a bowl (careful not to get any shell in there!) and it’s time to get your seasonings. All you’ll need is salt, black pepper, and – the often under-utilized – chives. Add just a pinch of the salt, grind in a couple cranks of black pepper, and then add the chives. The chives are going to add a light, delicate onion flavor, and it’s very easy to accidentally add too much, especially when you’re using fresh. Trust us, though, adding just about a teaspoon or less of chives will make a dramatic difference.

Using either a fork or a whisk, vigorously stir the eggs in the bowl until it’s all one uniform golden color.

Next it’s time to get the skillet ready. Be sure to opt for a smaller pan, as it will help with the mixing and folding we’re going to be doing. Surface area is a factor here, and the less of it you have to deal with the better; you’ll get better-developed egg curds and you’ll have more control of the pan and cooking time.

Put in a half tablespoon of butter, then pour a touch of extra virgin olive oil over it. Dust the pan sparsely with thyme (fresh is better!) and get your spatula on stand-by. Once you turn up the heat, you’ll be done with cooking process in about 2-5 minutes. If you want toast with your eggs (yum), then pop it in the toaster now.

Go ahead and turn the heat up to high. You can optionally throw in some minced garlic here, but it isn’t necessary. Once the butter and oil combination starts to lightly simmer, pour the mixture right into the bowl with your eggs! Give it a quick stir, then immediately pour that mixture back on the pan. Turn down your heat.

TIP: When you’re raising or lowering the heat, judge it by the size of the flame, not what the dial says.

Now comes the quick and delicate cooking process. If you want your eggs to have a heartier, more solid consistency just push the egg mixture around the pan, being sure to fold and move them about quickly – eggs cook extremely fast and you don’t want these to get overdone.

If you’re looking for smoother, richer, runnier scrambled eggs (like you’d put on toast), it’ll take slightly longer. Keep your flame very low from start to finish. The moment your egg mixture hits the pan, take the whole thing off the heat. Stir them constantly to keep the curds uniform in shape. Keep the pan off the stove top for a good 20 or 30 seconds, then return them to the heat, still stirring. Repeat this until your eggs achieve the desired consistency, then pour them directly over your toast.

Sprinkle a few more chives (or fresh parsley!) on top there you have it: Perfectly scrambled eggs. You might be surprised we didn’t use milk or cream at any point. It’s because you don’t need either one to get good, creamy eggs. It’s a common misconception. On the contrary, adding a dairy product like milk will actually leech the moisture from your eggs, resulting in making them come out more rubbery and dry. The best scrambled eggs won’t need milk or cream at all.

Spider-Man 2099

Spider-Man 2099 is the main star of his eponymous book in the Marvel 2099 comic line. Set in a dystopian cyberpunk future where most Marvel heroes are long gone, Spider-Man 2099 is the alter ego of Miguel O’Hara, a scientist who works for the evil megacorporation Alchemex. Miguel is a self-absorbed, cocky womanizer – the total opposite of Peter Parker.

After his employer tricks him into becoming addicted to the drug Rapture, Miguel attempts to experiment on himself to rid himself of the drug. However, a coworker sabotages the experiment, granting Miguel 50% spider DNA and giving him spider powers. Alchemex hunts down Miguel, who dons a bodysuit and Day of the Dead mask to evade them. While early in his costumed career, Miguel focuses on escaping Alchemex and finding a cure for himself. But he slowly becomes more aware of the exploitation and oppression the people around him suffer. Inspired to turn his life around for the better, he publically proclaims himself to be the new Spider-Man, enemy of all megacorporations and champion of the people. Miguel proves himself to be one of the future’s greatest heroes, even eventually becoming worthy enough to wield Thor’s hammer, Mjolnir.

Miguel’s powers are similar to the original Spider-Man’s, though there are some sharp differences. In current Marvel Comics continuity, Miguel is trapped in the present day. He frequently teams up with Peter Parker.

Spider-Man Noir

Spider-Man Noir debuted in 2009’s Marvel Noir comic storyline. Marvel Noir takes place during the Great Depression and features darker and grittier versions of their classic heroes. Spider-Man Noir is no exception.

In this universe, Peter Parker is mentored by famed reporter Ben Ulrich. Ben, under the alias of the Spider, uses his contacts in the criminal underworld to get information on the Goblin, the terrifying alter ego of Norman Osborn that controls all the crime in New York City. After sneaking into a warehouse full of the Goblin’s henchmen, he sees them unload a spider statue. One of the main differences between the main Spider-Man and Spider-Man Noir is that Noir is perfectly willing to kill his enemies. He frequently uses a revolver and a Tommy gun in his war against crime. Unlike the main Spidey, Noir doesn’t use web-shooters. Instead, his powers gave him organic webbing. Noir uses intimidation and his large number of underworld contacts in order to get closer to the Goblin.

Spider-Man Noir will appear in the upcoming animated movie Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. He will be played by Nicolas Cage.

Scarlet Spider

Scarlet Spider is the alias used by Peter Parker clone Ben Reilly, star of the universally panned Clone Saga storyline from the 90s. The story is convoluted and filled with comic book nonsense, but we will do our best to briefly summarize it here:

After fighting the villain Jackal, who uses clones to fight Spider-Man, Peter wakes up in a room with an identical clone also in a Spider-Man suit, both thinking the other is an imposter. The two Spider-Men fight, but eventually team up to rescue Gwen Stacy from the Jackal. The clone seemingly dies in an explosion while trying to rescue Gwen. A disturbed Peter drops the clone’s body in a smokestack to get rid of it, but the clone survives and escapes. After following Peter and taking a look into his life, the clone (still thinking that he is the original Peter), adopts the name Ben Reilly, named after Uncle Ben and Aunt May. Ben becomes the Scarlet Spider, creating his own hoodie-like costume and fighting crime. He also constantly evades Kaine, another clone of Peter with murderous tendencies.

The character was “revealed” to be the original Peter Parker. After massive fan outcry, Ben was killed off in a fight with the newly resurrected Green Goblin. His death inspires Peter (who ACTUALLY was the original all along) to retake his mantle of Spider-Man. Ben was recently resurrected in the “Dead No More: Clone Conspiracy” storyline. In this, he goes insane and becomes the new Jackal until he is defeated by Spider-Man. After his loss, Ben flees to Las Vegas in order to rediscover what it means to be a hero.

Got all that? No? Oh well, at least his costume is awesome.

Spider-Punk

During the crossover event Spider-Verse, in which Spider-Men from different realities team up to fight the villain Morlun, a reality is shown that features a never-before-seen Spider-Man. This hero is Spider-Punk, a vigilante who fights against the oppressive President Osborn using his spider powers and the power of rock and roll.

In his series, Spider-Punk becomes the symbol and leader of a punk youth movement that fights against the government and its drones. In true punk style, the comic is stylish, loud, and unsubtle. This incarnation of the hero is Hobie Brown. In the mainstream Marvel Universe, he’s a young African-American inventor who is one of Spider-Man’s oldest allies. Spider-Punk hates being referred to as such, instead preferring to be called Spider-Man. Later on, he fights against time-traveling supervillain Kaine the Conqueror, who has become a CEO that sells Spider-Punk’s image. Spider-Punk fights him to take his image back as a symbol for revolution and freedom instead of a cheap, catchphrase-spouting mascot.

In 2017, Facebook began launching weather greetings. When you opened the app for the first time in the morning, your news feed showed a brief message displaying the weather for the day. But now you can get a bit more out of it. Here’s how.

The new feature is a type of extension to the previous weather greetings. Now, if a weather greeting pops up, you can click on it and it will take you to an extended version with more information. Or if it is the middle of the day and you want to check the weather, you can navigate to the link.

This link is located along the left-hand side of your screen, under the Explore column. Listed as “weather,” this simple little link takes you right to a page that displays the weather as it is now as well as a full five-day forecast. It is quite easy to access.

Another step you can take is to request notifications for weather reports. That way, Facebook will provide you with updates when something comes up, such as a severe storm warning. You can turn this feature on or off in the weather section.

What you need to know

When using Facebook for weather updates, you should keep a few things in mind. First, it will display weather for the area your Facebook is set to. If your location is set on your mobile device, this can update. But if you have a location locked in your profile, you may need to update that to get more information. You can also request information about another location within the extension.
