From today until November 21 at 21:00, Steam users have the opportunity to claim the game Wednesdays for free. This initiative coincides with the celebration of Universal Children’s Day, aiming to provide access to a narrative that addresses themes of trauma and recovery from a hopeful perspective.
A game with a very harsh but necessary theme
Wednesdays is a narrative title that combines elements of graphic novel and interactivity. Throughout 17 narrative vignettes, players will be able to explore the experience of trauma and the healing process, all through a memory unlocking mechanic via mini-games. The game developers have implemented content warnings and options to skip scenes that may be uncomfortable, ensuring that any player can navigate the experience according to their comfort.
This offer represents a unique opportunity for users to engage with a proposal that addresses sensitive topics with due respect. In addition to Wednesdays, the promotion is complemented by other offers in the world of video games. Ubisoft is offering Immortals Fenyx Rising for free until December 2 through its Ubisoft Connect platform, while Epic Games Store continues its tradition of giving away titles until November 20. On this occasion, users can access several games, including Songs of Silence, ScourgeBringer, and Zero Hour. Finally, Fallout 76 is available at no cost on Prime Gaming until December 17.
This trend of offering free games is not new, but it remains a great incentive for the gaming community, allowing them to discover new proposals and experience meaningful narratives without spending money.

Fallout 76 has seen the most value from this new popularity
Meanwhile, the Fallout universe continues to expand through Fallout 76. The development team has been working hard on new updates that coincide with the upcoming season of the game, demonstrating a continued commitment from the studio to maintain community interest and engagement. The focus is not only on seasonal updates but also on the implementation of specific features that will enrich the player experience.
The game, which has had a complicated journey since its launch, has evolved considerably thanks to the updates and adjustments made by Bethesda. With new missions and additional content, Fallout 76 remains relevant and appealing to players. The constant interaction between the studio and the player base has been key to the growth of the title, which remains active in such a competitive environment as that of video games.
In a context where the media is increasingly attentive to video game productions that are adapted to the screen, the uncertainty about the future of the Fallout series is understandable. Fans may have to wait a little longer to find out when they can dive back into the post-apocalyptic world of the franchise through Prime Video. In the meantime, the team’s commitment to Fallout 76 seems to be an encouraging indication that the saga is still alive.

The development of the Fallout saga has been marked by controversial decisions and intense reactions from players. One of the most notable cases dates back to Fallout 3, whose original ending generated discontent among fans, leading Bethesda to correct it through the DLC that extended the story. Jeff Gardiner, project leader of Fallout 76, reflected on this experience, recalling that the controversy over the ending of the third title was similar to the issues he faced with the launch of Fallout 76.
A game that knew how to come back after failure
Fallout 76 was released to the market in a problematic state, lacking non-playable characters and with a PvP design that left many players dissatisfied. Base building issues also became a challenge, affecting the gameplay experience and the perception of the title. Despite how difficult the launch was, Gardiner emphasizes that these setbacks were valuable lessons that allowed the team to rethink their creative and collaborative approach.
The Wastelanders DLC marked a significant turn by reintegrating NPCs and narrative elements, which improved the perception of Fallout 76 and revitalized the morale of the developers. Gardiner has expressed the importance of not compromising the creative vision under external pressures, noting that “we learned a lot as a team” after the initial problems. By acknowledging their mistakes, Bethesda was able to not only restore faith in Fallout 76 but also in the franchise as a whole.
Gardiner, who has left Bethesda to work on a new RPG, Wyrdsong, shares the pride he feels for the journey of Fallout 76, stating that, despite its complexity, it is one of his favorite games he has worked on. The team’s ability to adapt and improve after the tough initial reception is a testament to Bethesda’s commitment to its player community.

Fallout 76 has taken a significant step with its new Ghoul Within update, which introduces a series of features and rewards related to ghouls in the game. This update allows players to become a ghoul for the first time in the series, granting them immunity to diseases and mutations, as well as taking advantage of the new benefits that come from their state, known as gherk.
An update for those who can’t help but go feral
One of the most notable features of the update is the introduction of the new Feral meter, which replaces the old hunger and thirst statistics. Players can now benefit from upgrades if they keep this meter full, while there is also a fun incentive to let it drop to zero, adding a new dynamic to the game. Additionally, adjustments have been made to improve the damage of pistols and add effects to various perk cards, such as Barbarian, which offers damage resistance based on strength.
The update also provides a level 50 boost for those who wish to directly access the end content, which is related to a new ghoul mission. It is worth mentioning that these changes come alongside bug fixes and necessary adjustments to keep the game balanced and entertaining.
Since its launch, Fallout 76 received mixed reviews, and it is encouraging to see that the title continues to evolve with constant updates. Currently, players can purchase the game on Steam for just 9.99 euros, with an attractive 75% discount. This is an ideal time for both new players and veterans of the series to explore the post-apocalyptic world of Appalachia while waiting for the second season of its television adaptation.
Fallout 76 takes Bethesda Game Studios’ seminal Fallout series in this premium fight-for-survival, post-apocalypse multiplayer experience. This action game is a perfect lead into the wider world of Fallout for the fans of the series, or even for newcomers to the franchise.
Since its release, Starfield, Bethesda’s latest space RPG, has sparked intense discussions among players. Since its launch, Starfield, Bethesda’s latest space RPG, has sparked intense discussions among players. While some consider it an ambitious masterpiece that transforms storytelling in video games, others do not hold back in their criticism, especially regarding its exploration elements. In fact, its rating on Steam has been labeled as ‘mixed’, making it the lowest-rated title from Bethesda on this platform, even below games like Fallout 76.
The renowned developer David Jaffe, known for being the creator of God of War and Twisted Metal, has openly expressed his support for the game. Jaffe has gone so far as to describe Starfield as having “one of the best single-player narratives in the history of video games”, stating: “There’s nothing to hate. I love this game; perhaps the best, in my opinion,” according to recent statements. Despite his enthusiasm, many players have reacted against his opinions, pointing out that they do not share the same positive experience.
A man in love with a game
The controversy intensified when Jaffe, in May 2022, criticized Microsoft’s decision to delay the game’s release. However, a year later, he seems to have changed his mind, praising Starfield as “the best singleplayer I’ve ever played,” inviting players not to let console rivalries overshadow a title that, according to him, offers an outstanding gaming experience. “I only completed the main story and touched a bit of the side quests,” he added, suggesting to those who are undecided to try the game through Game Pass.
As opinions on Starfield intensify, it is clear that Bethesda has managed to generate significant fervor in the gaming community, making it one of the most discussed releases in recent years.
The anticipation surrounding The Elder Scrolls VI is growing, but the recent reception of Bethesda’s games, especially Fallout 76 and Starfield, creates uncertainty about how the new title will be received. Although Starfield achieved favorable ratings from critics, with an 83 on Xbox and an 85 on PC, its perception on social media has been mostly negative. This raises questions about Bethesda’s design model, which many consider outdated. The anticipation around The Elder Scrolls VI is growing, but the recent reception of Bethesda’s games, especially Fallout 76 and Starfield, creates uncertainty about how the new title will be received. Although Starfield achieved favorable ratings from critics, with an 83 on Xbox and an 85 on PC, its perception on social media has been mostly negative. This raises questions about Bethesda’s design model, which many consider outdated.
Since the release of Skyrim, one of the most acclaimed video games of all time, the company has been stumbling. Fallout 4 was also a success, but Fallout 76 faced a wave of criticism for its problematic launch, although it has improved since then. What really worries fans is that, despite the good numbers, the community has labeled Starfield as a failure. This dissonance between the critics and public reception indicates that Bethesda has a challenge ahead for The Elder Scrolls VI.
There are speculations that the next title could be a reimagining of Starfield, shifting its science fiction focus to a fantasy universe. However, analysts believe that if the company does not make significant changes in its game design, it could repeat the varied experience that Starfield had. The widespread criticism about the lack of modernization and design in the current field could affect the reception of a highly anticipated game like The Elder Scrolls VI.
As players anticipate more innovations, it is also important to consider the climate on social media, which has contributed to a negative atmosphere around video game releases. The public pressure for a game to be successful can influence perspectives, which could complicate the situation for Bethesda when presenting its next installment in the vast world of RPGs.
Por supuesto, corrió a Twitter a preguntar a Bethesda dónde cobrar el cheque o, al menos, a pedir que le dejaran “poder dibujar una version nueva y mejor”.
Once upon a time, before Hollywood started making versions of everything we love in pop culture, fans had to make their own versions if they wanted a pop-culture film. That’s how famous fan-films like ‘Sonic Prologue’ and ‘Godzilla: Heritage’ were born, two that conquered the hearts of countless fans. However, with the arrival of series like ‘Fallout’ or ‘The Last of Us’, the fan films were somewhat left aside. Well, more or less.
In the thick of 2024, there’s no doubt that ‘Fallout’ is en vogue. So much so that there are those who are claiming, in addition to the series, a fan-made short film in 2015 titled ‘Fallout: Nuka Break’, directed by and starring Zack Finfrock thirteen years ago and accumulating 3.6 million views on YouTube. Over the years, Finfrock, an undying fan of the saga, has made numerous drawings of Vault Boy and several parodies, but Bethesda has never taken notice of him.
Until now. And it’s for the most random reason: While Finfrock was playing Fallout 76, he realized there was a drawing that remarkably resembled one he had made some time ago. In fact, it was the same drawing, but slightly modified. Of course, he rushed to Twitter to ask Bethesda where to cash the check or, at least, to ask if they would let him “draw a new and better version”.
Look, I love #Fallout76, and it seems someone on the art team loves my #Fallout memes.
So @JonRush1977, who do I talk to about this? I get that I don't own the Vault Boy and whatnot, but you could have reached out so I could draw a newer, better version for your Atom Shop image. pic.twitter.com/TKiMnqxoDg

The team behind ‘Fallout 76’ immediately apologized, claiming that it was a mistake involving a third party, and in order to avoid further issues, they decided to pay him to create new art in the game. Thirteen years later, the Fallout fan has achieved his goal. By chance? Of course. But it still counts. Oh yeah, the author also managed to secure funding for his second short film about the saga, ‘Fallout: Breaking’– $27,500 that he’ll use to offer an alternative to fans of the Amazon Prime Video series. The Wasteland sure has been kind to him!
Until someone has decided to relentlessly bombard a particular camp: P3. That is, Phil Spencer’s. Again and again. And alongside him, the whole community has followed suit, as a way of telling him what they think about his executive decisions: you shut down our games, we bombard your (virtual) house.
This week, Phil Spencer once again revealed himself as one of the biggest villains in the video game industry. The closure of Bethesda studios, including Tango, the creators of ‘Hi-Fi Rush’, has left many players feeling powerless, who have only been able to express their disagreement through ‘Helldivers 2’-style criticism bombardments… or by directly attacking the Microsoft executive.
Obviously, he hasn’t been hit with eggs in the face or challenged to a boxing match: it has been much more subtle. And it is that currently the ‘Fallout’ saga is experiencing an impressive resurgence, as we all know, thanks to the Amazon Prime Video series. ‘Fallout 76’, in particular, as an online multiplayer game, is receiving a new wave of fans, who generally act in good faith.
Until one has decided to mercilessly bomb a particular camp: P3. That is, the one of Phil Spencer. Over and over again. And along with him, the whole community has followed his example, as a way of telling him what they think about his executive decisions: you close our games, we bomb your (virtual) house. Besides, it’s not exactly easy to access nuclear missiles in the game: you have to do a good handful of side missions to get there.
If you want to do something like this, it is certainly because you have thought about it thoroughly and calmly. When interviewed, the author of the initial attacks, real1090jake, stated that it is nothing personal, just “a personal goal after finishing the game”. In fact, he had been thinking about it for weeks and now, finally, he saw the perfect moment. Honestly? This is the least Spencer deserves after laying off so many professionals. It seems like too little to me.
Fallout 76 is the game you should play if you’ve enjoyed the Fallout series and want to delve into a game that lets you inhabit its post-apocalyptic wasteland.
You have probably seen the Fallout series. If you have, chances are you loved it. It has not only captivated fans of the franchise, but it has also managed to reach the general audience. Even people who don’t usually play video games. Its unique lore, sense of humor, and action-packed moments have made it a success. And for good reasons.
If you want to know more about Fallout and immerse yourself in its narrative, you have several options to start depending on your preferences. But maybe you are one of those people who are not so interested in the story, but rather in the fact of inhabiting the wasteland. Being one of the inhabitants and building your own story. And that Fallout exists.
For anyone who wants to fully immerse themselves in the exploration and colonization of the wasteland, they should play Fallout 76. But why? You may have heard that it’s a game that didn’t do well. That it has many expansions. That it’s not exactly like the other Fallout games. And all of that is true. But that doesn’t take away from the fact that it’s an excellent game that you should experience, especially if you like the idea of playing with other people in a post-apocalyptic universe. That’s why we’re going to break down the reasons why you should play it.
The beginnings of Fallout 76 were a bit rough. Released on November 14, 2018, the game promised to not only be the first multiplayer game in the franchise, but also the closest experience to being a settler in the franchise’s post-apocalyptic world. This was contributed by the fact that, in terms of story, it takes place in 2102. Only twenty-five years after the nuclear war between the United States and China. Something that was true, to a certain extent.
The problem was that the game was, from the start, excessively rough. With a terrible loot system, very serious stability issues, and a complete absence of NPCs, because they intended for players to interact with each other to create the game’s story, the game was a disappointment.
Fortunately, over time it improved. Introducing NPCs, strengthening the overall narrative, server stability, and a better loot and mechanics system, the game managed to overcome a terrible first impression. Having reached 73,368 simultaneous players last week, with around 40,000 simultaneous players at any given time of the day, the game is now more alive than ever.
In addition, the game has been introducing new expansions and content, Wastelanders advances the narrative by one year, introducing us to a new region: Appalachia. In Steel Dawn, the Brotherhood of Steel was introduced for the first time, introducing greater power tensions between groups. Something that would be reinforced in Steel Reign, having to make a dramatic decision regarding the future of the Brotherhood. At the same time, Atlantic City is a new expansion that introduces a new region, the other Las Vegas, with a similar touch to what we could expect from New Vegas.
The greatest virtue of all this is that it’s free. You don’t need to buy anything else other than the base game. Both Apalachia and Atlantic City come with introduction packs with loot and currency, but you don’t need them to get into each expansion. Except to support their developers.
Another positive aspect of the game is its community. With lovely players who have no problem helping newcomers, it is a strong and friendly community that is a pleasure to interact with. In addition, their commitment to the game and role-playing the world of Fallout make Fallout 76 even better than it already is. It is a good reason to get into the game.
If you want to have your own home, interact with other settlers and make a life in the wasteland, maybe even join a faction and fight against others, Fallout 76 is your game. One that we can’t imagine how it could be improved in the near future.

Fallout 76 has a genius way to deal with in-game jerks.
Griefing. Griefing never changes.
Since the dawn of man, there have always been people who get their kicks out of ruining games for others. Today, things are no different. Griefers run amok in basically every popular online game. They’ll burn down your painstakingly built house in Minecraft, feed the enemy team in League of Legends, and shoot the ball into their own goal in Rocket League. They’re annoying and can ruin the game for people who want to play the way the developers designed.
In Fallout 76, Bethesda’s first foray into multiplayer for the Fallout franchise, steps have already been taken to discourage griefing. In a post-post-apocalyptic world filled with super mutants and raiders, the last thing you want to worry about is some angry 12-year-old troll.
At QuakeCon 2018, Fallout 76 game director Todd Howard discussed how the game was balancing PVP combat with griefing. He described how he wanted there to be some element of danger coming from other players because it fits the theme and world of Fallout. However, the game isn’t designed for players to just massacre each other on sight, a la DayZ.
If a player attacks you out of nowhere, the damage is severely reduced. Howard compares this initial reduced attack to lightly slapping a stranger in a bar to see if they want to fight (an action we HIGHLY recommend you don’t do in real life). If the player who was attacked accepts the fight, then both players will start dealing full damage to each other.
Even though unprovoked attacks do reduced damage, they are still able to kill players. A player who kills another in this way doesn’t gain any experience points or caps from their corpse. The attacking player is then labeled as a “Wanted Murderer.” This player is then marked on the map with a large bounty on their head, alerting every player in the vicinity.
No weapons or armor are lost upon death, though you do lose any collected crafting materials. If you truly do not want to join in the PVP experience you can turn it off entirely. Additionally, if a player keeps following you and harassing you, there are built-in options to block or ignore them.
Griefers, raiders, and everyone in between can join the battle when the Fallout 76 beta releases on October 23 on Xbox One. PC and PS4 players can join in a week later on October 29.
