This MMORPG has doubled the average number of players on PC thanks to the announcement of a small change

Since its launch, New World: Aeternum has had a trajectory full of ups and downs, especially under Amazon’s management. However, the MMORPG has experienced a notable resurgence in its player base, increasing from an average of 7,000-8,000 players in July to over 15,000 currently on PC, not counting the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S platforms. A game with a great start, but that has fallen over time. This growth is largely due to the announcement of Season 10, titled Nighthaven, which will be released on October 13. This MMORPG has doubled the average number of players on PC thanks to the announcement of a small change

Since its launch, New World: Aeternum has had a trajectory full of ups and downs, especially under Amazon’s management. However, the MMORPG has experienced a remarkable resurgence in its player base, increasing from an average of 7,000-8,000 players in July to over 15,000 currently on PC, not counting the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S platforms.

A game with a great start, but that has fallen over time

This growth is largely due to the announcement of Season 10, titled Nighthaven, which will be released on October 13. This new season promises to add a permanent area with a dark fantasy theme, as well as a rich story, new raids, and a game mode called Catacombs. A new maximum level (70) and a team score system (800) will also be introduced, raising expectations among the gaming community.

The recent influx of players, combined with the server merger, has led to long queues and performance issues in the game’s cities, reflecting both the excitement for the new content and concerns about the gaming experience. Players have reported waiting in queues of up to 500-600 people to enter the servers, something unthinkable in recent times.

Despite the management issues on Amazon’s part and the community’s perception of the game’s state, there is a positive sentiment among many players. For some, New World: Aeternum has become a refuge where they can disconnect and live adventures while exploring new mechanics and geographies promised by Season 10.

With the arrival of Nighthaven, it is claimed that there will be great interest in the new content. Rumors suggest that this could be more of an expansion rollout than just a seasonal update, raising concerns about whether the current game infrastructure will be able to handle the resurgence of its player base. As the release date approaches, many hope that New World can maintain its revitalization without compromising the quality of the gaming experience.

This decision was communicated by Reef Entertainment, the developer of the title, who emphasized their commitment to releasing all editions simultaneously, both physical and digital. “We sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding, and we regret this new delay,” the company stated.

Donald Trump, worse than the T-1000

This delay is part of a broader context, where changes in global trade tariffs have caused delays and price increases in various products, including many video games. Recently, there have been price increases for consoles like the Xbox and PlayStation 5, which has raised concerns among consumers about the economic impact these decisions may have on the entertainment industry.

Terminator 2D: No Fate focuses on the struggle of Sarah Connor and John Connor against Skynet, leading them to star in a futuristic war where the survival of humanity is at stake. Players will have the opportunity to control both characters in different levels and face the machines that threaten to eradicate humanity.

The game will be available on multiple platforms, including Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC. In addition, two physical editions will be offered: a standard edition, which will be priced at €60, and a collector’s edition at €120€. The latter includes several special items, such as a collectible arcade coin, a full-color manual, and a collector’s case.

The gaming community eagerly awaits the new release, although uncertainty remains regarding the pricing situation and its effect on future products in the sector.

This move is significant for fans in Spain and Latin America, who have been hoping for expansions in access to the story and dialogues of the franchise. The release is scheduled for December 8, 2023, and native versions for PS5 and Xbox Series have been confirmed, which will include support for multiple languages, including Spanish.

Like A Dragon will now be Like a Dragon

In addition, on the same day of their release, the titles will receive new updates that will include multiplayer modes and support for various languages on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. This is an important step, as the fan community has been asking SEGA to improve the localization of its games for the past two decades.

As part of the RGG Summit, SEGA also revealed that Yakuza Kiwami and Yakuza Kiwami 2 will receive versions for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, as well as a physical edition that will combine both titles. On the other hand, on February 12, 2026, Yakuza Kiwami 3 will be released, which will feature a Spanish translation and several visual improvements, in addition to a spin-off titled Yakuza 3 Gaiden: Dark Ties.

Although there are no official announcements yet regarding the possible translation and remastering of Yakuza 4, 5, and 6 for new consoles, it is speculated that these projects could be in development plans. Given the recent attention the franchise has received, it would not be surprising if SEGA considers giving these classic titles a new life for the delight of the saga’s fans.

Crossplay in video games has been a topic of debate in the community, especially in the shooter genre. With the arrival of Battlefield 6, EA has implemented a system that will allow players from different platforms to play together, facilitating connection between friends and expanding the player base. However, there are concerns about balance and the potential for cheating, especially between PC and console users.

EA taking steps in the right direction

EA has clarified that, although the crossplay option will be available, there will not be an exclusive “consoles vs. consoles” mode when this feature is activated. The system will prioritize matching console players, but it will also include PC users, which opens the possibility of playing alongside those using mouse and keyboard. Console players will have the option to disable crossplay, but with the drawback of losing the ability to play with friends on other platforms.

Additionally, EA has committed to addressing the cheating issue with the implementation of a new anti-cheat system called Javelin, as well as through technical efforts to mitigate the impact of malicious software on PC. At a recent event, the company highlighted its aggressive approach to maintaining game integrity and ensuring that matchups are fair.

With the launch of Battlefield 6 scheduled for October 10 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, players are eager to experience how crossplay will work in a competitive environment. While many celebrate the possibility of joining friends regardless of the platform, concerns about balance and cheating still persist in the community, suggesting that the overall acceptance of this feature may depend on the effectiveness of the measures that EA implements.

The iconic horror movie character, Michael Myers, will make his long-awaited return in a new video game titled Halloween, which will be released in 2026. This announcement, revealed by the studio IllFonic during Gamescom 2025, was accompanied by a two-minute trailer showcasing the enigmatic killer and the town of Haddonfield, where this terrifying experience will take place.

Fight against friends, or alone, because bots are here for a reason

IllFonic, known for its developments in the asymmetric multiplayer genre, has opted for a ‘one against many’ format, where players can take on the role of Michael Myers or the civilians trying to escape his relentless stalking. In addition to the multiplayer mode, there will be a Story mode for those who prefer to face the threat alone, fighting against bots in a tension-filled and stealthy environment.

This will be IllFonic’s fifth title in six years, demonstrating their commitment to creating unique gaming experiences. Halloween will be released on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store, and promises to capture the atmosphere of the original 1978 film, under the supervision of Compass International Pictures and Further Front.

The return of Michael Myers in this digital format has the potential to revitalize the horror genre in video games, which is currently experiencing a resurgence with releases like the return of Friday the 13th. Additionally, its announcement opens the possibility for future Halloween titles, such as the project in Unreal Engine 5 that was revealed by Boss Team Games, which features the participation of the legendary director John Carpenter.

The success of Halloween will depend on its gameplay and post-launch content, which could solidify this title as one of the greats of 2026. With terror constantly evolving, the figure of Michael Myers once again lurks in the dark hallways of video games, while other horror icons prepare for a new confrontation.

Former developers of Subnautica 2 sue Krafton after their recent dismissal

The controversy behind the development of Subnautica 2 has recently escalated, becoming one of the most intriguing stories of the month in the gaming world. This is due to the criticisms launched by Krafton against the former leaders of Unknown Worlds, which has led co-founders Charlie Cleveland and Max McGuire, as well as former CEO Ted Gill, to file a lawsuit against the company. Cleveland announced this legal action via Reddit, emphasizing that he has no intention of abandoning the development of Subnautica 2, a project he considers his life’s work.

A lawsuit with a million-dollar context

The lawsuit arises in a complicated context, as Krafton had planned a bonus of 250 million dollars for Unknown Worlds, contingent on certain financial results expected to be achieved in 2025. This bonus could be seriously affected by the delay in the release of Subnautica 2, scheduled for 2026 on Xbox Series X|S and PC. Cleveland has responded to Krafton’s accusations, which claimed that he and his team had abandoned their responsibilities during the game’s development.

In his response, Cleveland stated: “The idea that Max, Ted, and I wanted to keep the bonus for ourselves is completely inaccurate. I am in this industry because I love it, not for the riches.” He also reiterated his commitment to sharing the profits with the team, as they have done in the past, demonstrating that the intention to fulfill the corresponding bonus remains.

Meanwhile, Krafton has been the target of criticism, as its announcement of the game’s delay was met with numerous negative comments and calls to boycott the launch. The situation raises questions about the future of Subnautica 2 and the internal dynamics of Unknown Worlds, leading many to speculate about the long-term repercussions in the industry.

Her experience and knowledge of the Bungie universe are presented as essential assets for the development of this new IP.

They seek to change the work dynamic with a new creative director

The arrival of Nardin comes at a crucial moment, as Marathon has faced several setbacks on its path to the scheduled launch on September 23, 2025, on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Recently, a promotional trailer for the game sparked controversy by including unauthorized art, leading Bungie to issue a public response and conduct an internal review of its creative processes. The company attributed the error to a designer who is no longer part of the team, indicating a willingness to improve its practices to avoid similar issues in the future.

Despite the controversy generated and the absence of Marathon in the recent State of Play, which fueled rumors about a possible delay, Bungie has reaffirmed its strong commitment to the release schedule. Nardin, taking the helm of Marathon, seeks not only to strengthen this commitment but also to bring a more cohesive vision to the game, which aims to become one of the standout releases of the year.

With the ambition to overcome the challenges it has faced, the Bungie team is confident that Nardin’s leadership will allow this project to culminate on a promising and well-defined path, establishing a new standard for its creative universe.

The highly anticipated video game Grounded 2 was released in early access on July 29 for Xbox Series X|S and PC, also available through Game Pass. This release marks an important step for the franchise, as its director, Chris Parker, has noted that the sequel was driven by the technological limitations of the previous version on Xbox One, which made it difficult to implement new features requested by the community.

Things We Can Expect from Grounded 2: Buggies

One of the main novelties that Grounded 2 brings are the buggies, vehicles that players can use in the game. It has been confirmed that initially there will be two buggies available: the red ant and the orb weaver spider. Each one has specific abilities, providing an improved tactical approach for both gathering and combat. To obtain a buggy, players must steal an egg from the creature and hatch it at their base, turning the hostile insect into a friendly ally.

During an event at the Summer Game Fest 2025, Parker explained that, although the team continued to develop updates for Grounded, the desire to address community requests and the limitations of Xbox One technology led to the decision to create a sequel. Buggies were identified as the most requested feature by fans, demonstrating the studio’s commitment to feedback from its player base.

Additionally, Grounded 2 will retain the arachnophobia mode, allowing players to enjoy the experience without the fear of spiders. This accessibility feature has been well received in the community and underscores the studio’s attention to the diverse needs of players. In summary, Grounded 2 aims to expand the universe of its predecessor while focusing on improving the user experience from day one of early access.
