Apparently, Sony has said that the server was constantly experiencing issues, and the decision has been made to shut it down without looking back.
There was a time, when the Internet was starting to reach consoles, where everything seemed possible. New worlds, thousands of people playing at the same time, servers with endless power, maps and maps to spend hours in an eternal gameplay. And then, the cruel reality came: the consoles that were left behind have gradually been left without online functions and you can’t even play a sad Mario Kart on the 3DS anymore. That’s how it is.
The latest to suffer this cut, and also abruptly and without prior notice, has been ‘Little Big Planet 3’. The servers for this game for PS4 have closed “indefinitely” (that is, forever), leaving millions of creations uploaded to the cloud completely lost. Apparently, Sony has said that the server was constantly causing problems and the decision has been to turn it off without looking back.
The game has lasted a more than honorable ten years, but if any new player was looking forward to getting into user-generated levels, I’m afraid they will encounter a constant error on their screen. Luckily, you can still play all the levels you have downloaded, as well as create them offline for yourself. But without being able to share them with anyone, of course. Half the fun, down the drain.
The truth is that after this third part ‘Little Big Planet’ fell into oblivion, with an unexpected return in 2020, where a spin-off of Sackboy, its protagonist, appeared… and a mobile endless running game also starring him. And there doesn’t seem to be any indication that PS5 will surprise us with a ‘Little Big Planet 4’. There is still room for cuteness at Sony. We cross our fingers very tightly: maybe this ending is just a new beginning.
These are what we consider to be the best mystery games for PC, mobile and consoles of 2023. Download one of them now and solve the crime!
Are you looking to download mystery games? You’ve come to the right place. “Whodunnit” games are one of the most celebrated and popular genres among gamers who prefer a good story, puzzles, and investigative scenes over shooters, beat ’em ups, or action games.
Whether you’re on PC, console, or mobile, there’s an endless array of mystery games at your fingertips that will test your mind, creativity, and powers of deduction. Are you ready to download some of them? Put on your Sherlock Holmes hat because here are the best mystery games of the moment. We hope you enjoy them!
1. The Phoenix Wright Saga
If you enjoy mystery games, you’ll love Phoenix Wright. Also known as Ace Attorney, it is one of the most well-known and celebrated investigative video game series on the market. Created by Shu Takumi, the Phoenix Wright games put us in the shoes of this spiky-haired lawyer and his successor, Apollo Justice, on a crusade to solve the most bizarre cases.
Packed with humor and unforgettable characters, the Phoenix Wright series stands out for its excellent gameplay. Each case features a superb investigation and interrogation system that culminates in a final act where we must combine everything we’ve learned to defend our client and accuse the true culprit in the courtroom.
Regardless of whether you’re on PC, console, or mobile, you have a wide range of Phoenix Wright games at your disposal. If you’re new to this series, we highly recommend downloading Ace Attorney Trilogy, where you can enjoy the first three cases of the saga. If you get tired of Phoenix, you can also try your luck with Apollo Justice, his young successor. Personally, I highly recommend The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles, a fantastic game where you take on the role of Naruhodo Ryunosuke, an ancestor of Wright who must unravel the most intricate mysteries in feudal Japan alongside Sherlock Holmes (or Herlock Sholmes).
With its remaster just around the corner, Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective climbs to the second spot on our list. This brilliant mystery and investigation game from Capcom comes once again from the mind of Shu Takumi (Phoenix Wright). In this game, we’ll leave the courtroom behind to become an amnesiac ghost seeking answers about our own death. Sounds intriguing, right? Brace yourself, because twists and turns are coming!
Available for Android mobile devices and soon also for PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC, Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective puts us in the shoes of a ghost detective right after his death. He has lost his memory, so he doesn’t remember who he is or what led to his untimely demise. That’s when our ghostly investigation begins, where we must solve puzzles and navigate through all sorts of ingenious situations by possessing objects. But that’s not all, you can also control time, rewinding and jumping back to the past whenever you want.
The main Danganronpa saga always follows a similar storyline. A group of elite students has been trapped against their will by Monokuma, a teddy bear with a sinister death game. To escape, one of them must murder a fellow student, and then a trial must be held to uncover the culprit.
If the killer is discovered, they will be subjected to a cruel and often gory execution. If, on the other hand, nobody finds out, the killer will escape while the rest of their classmates perish. While the first installment may be predictable and somewhat disappointing, the second and third entries are excellent.
For all Danganronpa fans, it’s worth noting that we will soon be able to enjoy Master Detective Archives: RAIN CODE. This new mystery and investigation game will feature the sinister and fantastic touch that characterizes the creators of this series.
You may not be familiar with the name Tex Murphy if you’re a novice gamer, but he was one of the most beloved detectives in PC games during the 90s. Mean Streets, Martian Memorandum, Under a Killing Moon, Overseer… there are plenty of Tex Murphy games to choose from. But why do I add them to this list? Thanks to a Kickstarter project, Tesla Effect arrived on our computers, a new title in the series that benefits from all the advantages of new technologies while retaining the charm of classic games.
In this game series, we step into the shoes of Tex Murphy, a detective in the year 2040 who, besides not being very good at his job, is obsessed with the golden age of private investigators like The Maltese Falcon.
What usually starts as a seemingly trivial case, like finding a lost cat, ends up turning into a scenario more akin to a James Bond saga. Only the sarcasm of the clumsy detective and, of course, your investigative skills will save the planet. Highly recommended for lovers of comedies and the film noir genre.
One cannot talk about mystery games without including a title featuring the most famous detective of Baker Street. From the hands of the Ukrainian developer Frogwares comes Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened, an excellentremake of the classic 2006 game. This project, born out of an exceptional Kickstarter campaign – in which I myself participated – brings back one of the most iconic titles in the Holmes game franchise. And this time, the detective isn’t facing a simple case, but the very myths of Cthulhu.
Set during the war against Russia, Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened is a faithful portrayal of the original game but with cutting-edge graphics, a new soundtrack, and new cases in the form of DLC. One of the most notable enhancements is the revival of the appearance, voice, and personality of Holmes that we saw in the superb Chapter One, paving the way for a possible resurrection of the detective’s remaining adventures. It’s a must-play for those seeking a great game, and especially for lovers of the stories by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and H.P. Lovecraft.
While we eagerly await news about The Wolf Among Us 2, its first installment is undoubtedly a game that deserves to be on the list of the best mystery games. It is based on the DC Comics series Fables and its charm lies precisely in the fact that well-known characters from fairy tales are living among humans incognito… but not quite as we remember them.
In The Wolf Among Us, we take on the role of Bigby Wolf (based obviously on the Big Bad Wolf) and find ourselves involved in a series of murders where the victims are all these characters from fables and children’s tales. The Wolf Among Us is a thrilling title that will keep you glued to your screen until you solve the mystery across its five episodes. However, be mindful of your decisions because, as is typical in TellTale Games’ titles, each choice and path you take will have repercussions on the story’s development.
Fans of visual novels have a must-play experience with PARANORMASIGHT: The Seven Mysteries of Honjo. This true gem developed by Square Enix immerses us in a story of mystery and terror set in late 20th century Japan. In this game, we take on the role of different characters involved in strange deaths where there is a common factor: deadly relics, vengeful spirits, and a mysterious resurrection ritual.
Although at its core it is a visual novel, PARANORMASIGHT is a game where we can interrogate, use objects, employ logic, investigate thanks to its brilliant 360-degree environments, and even curse and kill our enemies. However, where the game truly excels is in its story. It is intricately woven with so many twists that you won’t be able to stop playing until you unravel its mystery. In short, it’s an incredible game that no one should miss out on.
Created by Ron Gilbert, Thimbleweed Park is a love letter to the old point-and-click games of the era of Maniac Mansion, The Secret of Monkey Island, and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. In addition to being a true gift for nostalgic players, it is a truly entertaining mystery game where we must investigate a strange murder on the outskirts of the bizarre town of Thimbleweed Park.
Fun like few others and with humor that surpasses the absurd, Thimbleweed Park is a marvel. The game perfectly manages to make you laugh at all times while keeping you glued to your seat until you uncover the killer in the quirky town specialized in pillow sales. A special mention goes to its sheriff-a-reeno, a character that once you meet him, you will never forget him. It is a must-play for fans of graphic adventures and, unlike the controversial Return to Monkey Island, it provides a gratifying experience from beginning to end.
Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers marked a before and after in Sierra Online’s graphic adventures. The fantasy stories of the King’s Quest series were left behind to immerse ourselves fully in a title not recommended for minors, conceived by thriller writer Jane Jensen. In this game, we travel to New Orleans, where we step into the shoes of an egocentric and opportunistic writer on his quest to solve a series of murders related to voodoo.
Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers is a surprising, mature, and complex game with a storyline worthy of the best film. It’s not surprising that to this day it is considered one of the best graphic adventures for PC and mobile devices. The game even received a remake with updated HD graphics and 3D characters, further enhancing its appeal.
We conclude the list with AI: The Somnium Files, an excellent mystery game created by Kotaro Uchikoshi, the mind behind the superb Zero Escape series (if you haven’t played it yet, you’re missing out). In this game, we take on the role of detective Kaname Date, a special agent tasked with investigating the serial killings of the so-called Cyclops. The killer’s modus operandi is to disembowel their victims and steal one of their eyes. To aid us in our investigation, we have the assistance of Aiba, an artificial intelligence located in Date’s eye, and the ability to enter the dreams and memories of the characters.
As is customary in Uchikoshi’s games, The Somnium Files features a gripping story that combines moments of comedy with more serious and even gruesome ones. The end result is a surprising plot full of twists and an exceptional conclusion. If you enjoyed AI: The Somnium Files, don’t miss its sequel, AI: The Somnium File – NirvanA Initiative, which, while not quite reaching the same heights as the first installment, is still highly entertaining.
Check out all the must have essential games you need for PS4.
The PS4 and PS4 Pro are amazing games consoles. Graphics are so good now and games so massive that you can easily lose yourself in hundreds of hours of play per game. That’s just it though, at the end of the day all those graphics chips and processors, and all that system memory is nothing without the games. If all you have is the PS4, you don’t actually have anything at all.
Today, we’re going to walk you through all the must have PS4 games you need to get your hands on. We’ve action, strategy, sports, and many other types of adrenaline fueled and cranium stimulating interactive entertainment. These are the games you need, if you’re to let your new PlayStation 4 reach its true potential.
The first game in our list is a superhero game because, well, that’s just the world we live in now. Marvel’s Spiderman is the best Spiderman game to come out since Spider-Man 2 on that most classic of Nintendo consoles, the GameCube. This game really gives you a great idea of what it would be like to swing through New York as Peter Parker’s alter ego and, let’s face it, that should be what all Spiderman games are about. On top of that, the fighting mechanics are lots of fun, a bit similar to those of the Batman Arkham series, and the slow burner of a story really does end with a bang. Do yourself a favor and get this game.
Red Dead Redemption 2
Rockstar don’t make many games these days. The games they do make, however, take the world by storm, which is exactly what Red Dead Redemption 2 did in 2018 and is still doing now. The open world RPG Wild West action looks beautiful and sees you riding with a gang of outlaws as the world of the old West falls apart around you. RDR2 is a truly beautiful game and at times feels more like a movie than a game. There is now a vibrant multiplayer world to explore too. In other words, it’s an absolute treat.
We really don’t have to say too much about Grand Theft Auto V. If you have a PS4, you probably already know all about, what could possibly be, the biggest video game of all time. The fifth game in the GTA series sees you playing as three different characters as you drive, steel, and fight your way to the top of the Los Santos underworld. This game has it all so if you want it all, get this game.
God of War
Sony’s God of War series has spanned three different generations of PlayStation console and the latest installment almost feels like a new approach to the established way God of War has always done things. Even though Kratos is still the angry brute you’d expect him to be, there is a much more cerebral feel to the game with challenging puzzles always testing you and smart dialogue betraying a brain behind the brawn. God of War is a PS4 exclusive and looks stunning too, which is just two more reasons why you need it.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019)
Call of Duty could be described as the definitive first-person shooter franchise. It has been around for years and when the original Modern Warfare first burst onto the scene it was indisputably the best FPS action game around. A rough patch from the series, however, and a resurgence of the impressive Battlefield franchise saw this position threatened, but last year’s Modern Warfare reboot really did mark a return to form.
There used to be a time when FIFA wasn’t the dominant soccer game on the planet and Konami’s Pro Evolution Soccer series reigned supreme. That time is no more, and FIFA 20 is the latest in a long line of soccer games that have been the best in the world. FIFA 20 looks amazing, is lots of fun to play, and has some fantastic game modes to draw you in beyond the basic match day simulator.
Horizon Zero Dawn
Another game that looks incredible is Guerilla Game’s Horizon Zero Dawn, which is bit like a mix between Jurassic Park and Transformers. I have to say though, that my rather crude description of this game doesn’t do it justice. This adventure game is massive, and its game world is rich with challenges to master and side quests to experience. Horizon Zero Dawn is essential because simply put, it is one of the best games ever made.
Shadow of the Colossus is a remastered PS2 game that now packs a HDR supported 4K punch. In short, it looks truly beautiful and brings with it a unique gameplay experience that can’t be replicated in any other game or on any other console. That’s what makes Shadow of the Colossus a must-have game. It will take you to places other games can’t and will stay with you long after you’ve stopped playing.
Titanfall 2
Titanfall 2 is the sequel to a game that was never actually released on the PlayStation. The good news for all PS4 owners, however, is that the sequel is better than the original in almost every conceivable way. The FPS action Titanfall 2 offers is some of the best that’s ever been created and the mech-like Titans that you pilot, as well as fighting on foot, bring something fresh to the experience too. On top of that, the Titanfall 2 single player campaign is one of the best we’ve ever played.
What Remains of Edith Finch
The final game to make our list of essential PlayStation 4 games is about emotion. What Remains of Edith Finch is a powerful game that sees you exploring the main character’s family home and unlocking her family’s history. Every new discovery will have you feeling something different and by the end you’ll be completely refreshed and feel truly exhilarated. This is a magical game that you really shouldn’t miss.
Wrapping up
OK, so this list has missed out a few classics like Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil 7, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, Bloodborne, Dark Souls, Nier: Automata, and The Last of Us; but we feel that a list of essential games needs to have its limits. The games we’ve laid out above will leave you feeling fulfilled by your PlayStation yet hungry for more.
No Man’s Sky Beyond adds 32-player support and populates the galaxy with life!
Hello Games just released a trailer for No Man’s Sky Beyond, which brings incredible VR tech to the massive open-world game. Although we were already burned once, we can’t help but feel hyped from this trailer:
No Man’s Sky Beyond is set to launch on Aug. 14. It will be available for Xbox, PlayStation, PlayStation VR, Steam VR, and PC. This is the biggest update to No Man’s Sky since the game’s initial release.
Back in 2016, gamers everywhere were hyped for No Man’s Sky. It promised to be one of the biggest open-world games ever created if not THE biggest.
Unfortunately, our tears of joy rapidly turned into tears of sorrow once we actually started playing the game.
No Man’s Sky was a giant open-world experience, but all of the planets we were able to visit just felt like more and more of the same. Basically, each planet was not entirely unique; they were basically the same few looped over and over again.
Despite its checkered past, No Man’s Sky Beyond sold us with just two letters: VR. No Man’s Sky Beyond is the type of game that seems like it was always meant to be in VR. Traveling the galaxy in our spaceship as we hop from planet to planet could be an endlessly fun experience in VR.
Along with playing in beautiful VR, you will be able to explore the cosmos with up to 32 players at once!
All of the empty, barren planets that butchered our hype now look lush and full of life.
As much as we want to say, “YES, GO BUY THE GAME RIGHT NOW! IT LOOKS AMAZING!” we would recommend waiting to hear reviews first. Yeah, it looks like fun and it looks like it would be next to impossible to screw up. However, we thought the same thing back in 2016.
We are going to hope for the best, but Hello Games already broke our hearts once. We aren’t about to just let them do that again.
Check out these 10 amazing games available on PlayStation Now!
Imagine Netflix, but for video games. Seems too good to be true, right? Actually, this fantasy is a reality. PlayStation Now offers instant access to more than 700 PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation 4 titles, all available to stream instantly to your PS4 or computer.
With such a massive library of games, it can be tough to decide where to jump in. Fear not, because we’ve compiled a list of the 10 best games on PlayStation Now:
If you’re a Mortal Kombat fan – and even if you’re not – you’re guaranteed to have a white-knuckle, knockdown, drag-em-out punch-fest featuring classic MK characters like Sub-Zero, Jax, Kitana, Ermac, Sonya Blade, Johnny Cage, Liu Kang, Reptile, Scorpion, and a bunch more.
With a surprisingly compelling (though quite cheesy) plot and a crazy long challenge ladder mode, you’ll have plenty to do in the game’s single-player. But that’s why you buy MKX – this is one of the best 2-player games out there, whether you’re online or in the basement couch, doing a tag ladder or bashing each other in the face with brutal X-Ray attacks and fatalities.
If you haven’t had enough fighting games with MK9, then step into the ring with one of the best wrestling video games of all time. Developed in a collaboration between Yuke’s and Visual Concepts, WWE 2K16 has more than 120 unique playable characters, five game modes, and much-improved gameplay from its predecessors. Advanced holds, tornado tag-team, smoother animations, and all-around superior visuals and audio, this is definitely one every fighting game fan needs in their library!
Take Bioshock to the skies as you and Elizabeth uncover the secrets of Columbia.
Bioshock’s third entry puts you in the boots of Booker DeWitt, a detective hired to retrieve a girl, Elizabeth, from the flying city of Columbia. This game perfects the gameplay of the first two entries in the series, but Infinite’s story is what really sets it apart. The shocking twist ending inspired endless discussion, speculation, and philosophical musings across the internet and beyond are phenomenal. If you haven’t had it spoiled yet, we highly recommend experiencing it for yourself. If you’re looking for the classic Bioshock experience, however, fear not: the firsttwo entries in the Bioshock series are also available on PlayStation Now.
Even though it came out over two years ago, Sniper Elite 4 is one of the most tactical shooters on the market. The game will put you in 1943 Italy as an expert marksman behind enemy lines. You’ll be setting up traps, lining up shots, gunning for high-ranking officers, and – if things get dicey – running for your life. The game has smarter AI than the previous games, a grittier plot involving a new Nazi weapon, and night missions during which the player can eliminate light sources to mask their presence. A lot of things happen at once in SE4, and like the trailer says “timing is everything.”
Explore deep chasms, high mountains, vast deserts. Adapt to survive.
When you strap in for an action-adventure game by Naughty Dog, odds are you already know what you’re in for. One of the best-reviewed games of 2011, in Uncharted 3 you play as explorer Nathan Drake as he searches the Rub’al Khali desert for the lost city Iram of the Pillars. Leap, run, scale, swim, and navigate narrow ledges, sheer drops, and vast terrains as you search high and low. New fight mechanics include hand-to-hand combat against multiple opponents, contextual melee attacks, and a potpourri of new stealth options.
Every boss encounter is unique, every fight memorable.
An instant classic first introduced on the PlayStation 2, Shadow of the Colossus is a truly gorgeous game. As the player character, you travel to a mysterious land and fight a series of massive Colossus creatures in order to bring your true love back from the dead. The game is essentially an endless series of boss battles, with each Colossus bringing its own unique twist that makes every encounter as much of a puzzle as it is a fight. The graphics are gorgeous, and the breathtaking vistas are a huge part of what makes this game such an incredible experience.
Set in a brutal nightmarish world, your gaming skills will be tested to their limits.
Bloodborne is a world created by your fears. Your goal is to meet those fears head-on and conquer them in a world rife with danger and risk, where death and insanity lurk around every corner. The title is reminiscent of Dark Souls, with its death and save mechanics seamlessly intertwined with gameplay, making for a harrowing experience for even the most well-versed gamers. Combat is quick and demands a strong offensive, while you need to equally keep up your defenses against hordes of nightmarish enemies and merciless bosses.
When being shot in the head and left for dead in a ditch somewhere in the wasteland only makes you angry, you know you’re in for a fun ride. Fallout: 4 does everything that a Fallout game can do right: Massive world, strong RPG elements, factions to join or fight, a good crafting system, and a post-nuclear apocalyptic world swarming with mutated creatures. The game also improves upon several core features of previous Fallout titles, including combat, kill animations, easier character customization, and a modified perk system. Oh, and Dogmeat is still such a good boy.
Immerse yourself in a gripping narrative of two people struggling through a post-apocalyptic world.
A true masterpiece from Naughty Dog. The Last of Us is set in the near future after a fungal plague wipes out nearly all of humanity. Grizzled smuggler Joel agrees to escort a young girl, Ellie, on a dangerous cross-country journey in the hopes of finding a cure for the infection.
The story and performances of this game are what make it stand out. The emotional plot pairs well with stealth heavy survival gameplay, making each encounter into a uniquely satisfying challenge. The game’s Left Behind DLC is also available on PlayStation Now, and though short, is just as emotional and powerful as the main game. With the Last of Us 2 on the horizon, now is the perfect time to get caught up.
Red Dead is the most popular game on PlayStation Now for good reason, and with Red Dead Redemption 2 now available, there’s no better time to play the original. The Rockstar title puts players in the shoes of outlaw John Marston in the waning days of the Old West.
Players can explore a sprawling map featuring seemingly endless side quests and locations, customize their character, try their luck at gambling, enter horse races, and more. Think of it as a sort of Wild West version of Grand Theft Auto… except instead of cars, you’ll be hijacking horses.
There is a bit of a concern over whether or not you truly “own” your PlayStation Now games. However, there is a simple answer.
If you buy a game on PlayStation Now, the game is yours for as long as you keep your subscription. However, if you stop paying for your subscription, you cannot play any of your games or any of its DLC. If you renew your subscription, you will be able to play all of your games and DLC once again.
Wrapping up
New users can get a free 7-day trial before signing up. From that point, you can decide between a one-month subscription ($19.99), a three-month ($44.99) or a full year for $99.99. Get one today and we’ll see you online!
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare says goodbye to annual passes, and hello to free content!
After eight years of waiting, gamers are finally getting the next Modern Warfare game in the Call of Duty lineup. Activision released the trailer for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, and the hype is real:
To make things even better, we don’t have to wait very long before this comes out. The trailer ends by giving us a release date of Oct. 25 of this year!
New features
According to Kotaku, the game will feature the following updates:
Modern Warfare will remove annual passes. Instead, it will deliver free maps, content, and post-launch events to all players. Although these features will be free, we don’t know whether or not Activision will include any paid content.
The game will feature cross-play support between PC and consoles. We don’t know if Xbox One users can play against PS4 players, but they will be able to play against PC users.
The PC version is exclusive to Battle.net
Modern Warfare will be on a completely new engine.
In the campaign mode, players will traverse through European cities as well as the Middle East.
You will be able to play co-op in “Elite Operations.”
There will be an “immersive narrative experience” crossing single-player, co-op, and competitive multiplayer.
If you’re looking for next-level storytelling, Call of Duty simply isn’t the franchise for you. As far as stories go, there really isn’t a single Call of Duty game with a noteworthy story, and this game doesn’t look like it will be an exception. That said, we do get a shot of the return of fan-favorite character Captain Price.
Although the story looks lacking, the graphics look absolutely top notch.
Characters move throughout the world without the landscape blurring around them. This suggests that the game has low motion blur. Over the past few years, motion blur has made its way into games. Basically, motion blur keeps characters looking crisp when the camera moves while the backgrounds get blurry. The Uncharted series is a prime example of a franchise with big motion blur issues.
Luckily, everything in this game looks crisp no matter how intense things get.
How will this be different from other Call of Duty games?
To be perfectly blunt, Call of Duty games don’t often stray from their winning formula. Call of Duty games consistently sell millions of copies despite the fact that each game feels like more of the same.
However, Activision appears to be atoning for sins of the past, and for that we’re excited. Not having to pay extra for more maps, content, and events is a huge step in the right direction.
Do we think this game is going to be a contender for Game of the Year? Probably not. Death Stranding looks like it will have that on lockdown. However, it does look like it will set a positive tone for Call of Duty games in the future.
After you’ve finished RDR2, here’s how to complete the bonus mission.
Over the course of Red Dead Redemption 2’s story, the members of Dutch’s gang experience more than their fair share of grief and loss. Living the life of an outlaw means death can come at any time, and a number of your comrades will fall before Arthur Morgan’s story is through. The “Paying Respects” achievement is only available after beating the game, and tasks you with visiting the graves of your fallen friends. This can be a bit difficult to do, since the graves aren’t marked on the map, but we’ve found them for you.
Before reading on, be warned: there are major spoilers ahead.
RDR2: “Paying Respects” Achievement Guide
Grave 1: Jenny Kirk
Jenny Kirk’s Grave
Jenny’s grave (northernmost marker)
You can read about young Jenny Kirk in Arthur’s journal. Unfortunately, we never get to meet her, as she dies before the story even begins, during the gang’s ill-fated robbery in Blackwater. You can find her grave along a snowy riverbank north of Colter, the abandoned mining town in the mountains where the game begins.
Grave 2: Davey Callander
Davey Callander’s grave
Davey’s grave (southernmost marker)
Davey’s also another character we don’t get to see much of. One of a pair of brothers, both are shot during the Blackwater heist before the start of the game. Davey’s brother dies, but Davey himself manages to hang on before finally expiring shortly after the gang reaches Colter. You can find his grave at the very back of the cemetery next to Colter’s abandoned church.
Poor Sean doesn’t stick around for long. Near the end of the gang’s time in Rhodes, he’ll take an unexpected sniper bullet to the head while on a job with Arthur, Micah, and Bill. The vibrant Irishman’s final resting place can be found in the trees just north of the remnants of the gang’s camp at Clemens Point.
Grave 4: Kieran Duffy
Kieran Duffy’s grave
Kieran’s grave (southernmost marker)
Kieran doesn’t die well. He meets his end while the gang makes their camp at Shady Belle, his gruesome fate serving as a warning from members of his former gang, the O’Driscolls. Despite being a new and somewhat misfit addition to the gang, he still got a proper burial. You can find his grave in a peaceful meadow just south of Bolger’s Blade.
Graves 5 & 6: Lenny Summers and Hosea Matthews
Hosea and Lenny’s graves
Hosea and Lenny’s grave markers
These two deaths are particularly devastating. Both Lenny and Hosea meet their ends at the hands of lawmen during the gang’s disastrous bank robbery in Saint Denis. They’re buried side by side, in the shade of a large cypress tree north of the city.
Grave 7: Susan Grimshaw
Susan Grimshaw’s grave
Susan Grimshaw’s grave marker
Susan Grimshaw was a tenacious old bird, right up until the end. When Dutch’s gang starts to fall apart and tensions rise at the final camp in Beaver Hollow, Grimshaw pulls a shotgun, but Micah beats her to the draw and she takes a bullet to the gut. She’s buried at the top of a cliff southwest of Elysian Pool, overlooking Roanoke Valley.
Grave 8: Eagle Flies
Eagle Flies’ grave
Eagle Flies’ grave marker (westernmost marker)
Eagle Flies was a headstrong warrior, and that headstrong fighting spirit eventually led to his demise. He takes a bullet during his reckless assault on the Cornwall Oil Fields, and Arthur manages to get him back to the Wapiti Indian Reservation so he can say his final goodbyes to his devastated father, Rains Fall. His grave marker is on a cliff overlooking Donner Falls, with his trusty bandana hanging from a branch.
Grave 9: Arthur Morgan
Arthur Morgan’s grave
Arthur Morgan’s grave (easternmost marker)
The final and perhaps most gut-wrenching death of all, Arthur finally meets his end at the finale of Red Dead 2’s main story. Though we do see the moment coming due to a diagnosis with terminal tuberculosis earlier in the game, it’s still a very painful goodbye. After one final fight with the law and the turncoat Micah Bell to make sure John Marston and his family can escape to start a new life, Arthur passes away as the sun rises over the Roanoke Ridge Valley. Afterward, Charles Smith returned to retrieve his body, and laid him to rest at the top of a cliff east of Eagle Flies’ grave and northeast of Bacchus Bridge.
Once you’ve visited the 9th and final grave and said your final goodbyes, the “Paying Respects” achievement will be unlocked.

Where did these 4 Spidey suits come from? Here’s the comic book backstory.
Insomniac’s Spider-Man for PS4 has been a massive success, and for good reason. The game was clearly made by and for Spider-Man fans, and Insomniac went above and beyond in representing the beloved character’s decades of history. One of the coolest ways Insomniac pays homage to the wall-crawler is through the unlockable alternate costumes. Below we’ll show you some of the coolest ones you can unlock and talk about the comics that they came from.
The comic book origins of the coolest costumes in Spider-Man PS4
Spider-Man 2099
Spider-Man 2099 is the main star of his eponymous book in the Marvel 2099 comic line. Set in a dystopian cyberpunk future where most Marvel heroes are long gone, Spider-Man 2099 is the alter ego of Miguel O’Hara, a scientist who works for the evil megacorporation Alchemex. Miguel is a self-absorbed, cocky womanizer – the total opposite of Peter Parker.
After his employer tricks him into becoming addicted to the drug Rapture, Miguel attempts to experiment on himself to rid himself of the drug. However, a coworker sabotages the experiment, granting Miguel 50% spider DNA and giving him spider powers. Alchemex hunts down Miguel, who dons a bodysuit and Day of the Dead mask to evade them. (Miguel is the first Latino Spider-Man.)
While early in his costumed career, Miguel focuses on escaping Alchemex and finding a cure for himself. But he slowly becomes more aware of the exploitation and oppression the people around him suffer. Inspired to turn his life around for the better, he publically proclaims himself to be the new Spider-Man, enemy of all megacorporations and champion of the people. Miguel proves himself to be one of the future’s greatest heroes, even eventually becoming worthy enough to wield Thor’s hammer, Mjolnir.
Miguel’s powers are similar to the original Spider-Man’s, though there are some sharp differences. For example, Miguel does not possess a spider-sense, but he does have highly enhanced senses of vision and hearing. He is able to see in the dark and “zoom” his vision in. While Peter Parker was able to cling to any surface with any part of his body, Miguel is only able to cling using talons on his hands and feet. These talons can also be used offensively, being strong enough to tear through flesh. In addition to talons, Miguel also has razor sharp poisonous fangs.
In current Marvel Comics continuity, Miguel is trapped in the present day. He frequently teams up with Peter Parker.
Spider-Man Noir
Spider-Man Noir debuted in 2009’s Marvel Noir comic storyline. Marvel Noir takes place during the Great Depression and features darker and grittier versions of their classic heroes. Spider-Man Noir is no exception.
In this universe, Peter Parker is mentored by famed reporter Ben Ulrich. Ben, under the alias of the Spider, uses his contacts in the criminal underworld to get information on the Goblin, the terrifying alter ego of Norman Osborn that controls all the crime in New York City. After sneaking into a warehouse full of the Goblin’s henchmen, he sees them unload a spider statue. The statue breaks open, freeing swarms of spiders, one of which bites Peter, causing him to dream of a spider-like god. When he wakes up, Peter realizes he has spider powers. Peter dons his uncle’s airman suit to become the brutal vigilante known as Spider-Man, stopping at nothing to bring down the Goblin.
One of the main differences between the main Spider-Man and Spider-Man Noir is that Noir is perfectly willing to kill his enemies. He frequently uses a revolver and a Tommy gun in his war against crime. Unlike the main Spidey, Noir doesn’t use web-shooters. Instead, his powers gave him organic webbing. Noir uses intimidation and his large number of underworld contacts in order to get closer to the Goblin.
Spider-Man Noir will appear in the upcoming animated movie Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. He will be played by Nicolas Cage.
Scarlet Spider
Scarlet Spider is the alias used by Peter Parker clone Ben Reilly, star of the universally panned Clone Saga storyline from the 90s. The story is convoluted and filled with comic book nonsense, but we will do our best to briefly summarize it here:
After fighting the villain Jackal, who uses clones to fight Spider-Man, Peter wakes up in a room with an identical clone also in a Spider-Man suit, both thinking the other is an imposter. The two Spider-Men fight, but eventually team up to rescue Gwen Stacy from the Jackal. The clone seemingly dies in an explosion while trying to rescue Gwen. A disturbed Peter drops the clone’s body in a smokestack to get rid of it, but the clone survives and escapes. After following Peter and taking a look into his life, the clone (still thinking that he is the original Peter), adopts the name Ben Reilly, named after Uncle Ben and Aunt May. Ben becomes the Scarlet Spider, creating his own hoodie-like costume and fighting crime. He also constantly evades Kaine, another clone of Peter with murderous tendencies.
What we can expect in Avengers 4 (if it’s anything like the comics)
The character was “revealed” to be the original Peter Parker. After massive fan outcry, Ben was killed off in a fight with the newly resurrected Green Goblin. His death inspires Peter (who ACTUALLY was the original all along) to retake his mantle of Spider-Man. Ben was recently resurrected in the “Dead No More: Clone Conspiracy” storyline. In this, he goes insane and becomes the new Jackal until he is defeated by Spider-Man. After his loss, Ben flees to Las Vegas in order to rediscover what it means to be a hero.
Got all that? No? Oh well, at least his costume is awesome.
Spider-Punk
During the crossover event Spider-Verse, in which Spider-Men from different realities team up to fight the villain Morlun, a reality is shown that features a never-before-seen Spider-Man. This hero is Spider-Punk, a vigilante who fights against the oppressive President Osborn using his spider powers and the power of rock and roll.
In his series, Spider-Punk becomes the symbol and leader of a punk youth movement that fights against the government and its drones. In true punk style, the comic is stylish, loud, and unsubtle. This incarnation of the hero is Hobie Brown. In the mainstream Marvel Universe, he’s a young African-American inventor who is one of Spider-Man’s oldest allies. Spider-Punk hates being referred to as such, instead preferring to be called Spider-Man. Later on, he fights against time-traveling supervillain Kaine the Conqueror, who has become a CEO that sells Spider-Punk’s image. Spider-Punk fights him to take his image back as a symbol for revolution and freedom instead of a cheap, catchphrase-spouting mascot.

Fallout 76 has a genius way to deal with in-game jerks.
Griefing. Griefing never changes.
Since the dawn of man, there have always been people who get their kicks out of ruining games for others. Today, things are no different. Griefers run amok in basically every popular online game. They’ll burn down your painstakingly built house in Minecraft, feed the enemy team in League of Legends, and shoot the ball into their own goal in Rocket League. They’re annoying and can ruin the game for people who want to play the way the developers designed.
In Fallout 76, Bethesda’s first foray into multiplayer for the Fallout franchise, steps have already been taken to discourage griefing. In a post-post-apocalyptic world filled with super mutants and raiders, the last thing you want to worry about is some angry 12-year-old troll.
At QuakeCon 2018, Fallout 76 game director Todd Howard discussed how the game was balancing PVP combat with griefing. He described how he wanted there to be some element of danger coming from other players because it fits the theme and world of Fallout. However, the game isn’t designed for players to just massacre each other on sight, a la DayZ.
If a player attacks you out of nowhere, the damage is severely reduced. Howard compares this initial reduced attack to lightly slapping a stranger in a bar to see if they want to fight (an action we HIGHLY recommend you don’t do in real life). If the player who was attacked accepts the fight, then both players will start dealing full damage to each other.
Even though unprovoked attacks do reduced damage, they are still able to kill players. A player who kills another in this way doesn’t gain any experience points or caps from their corpse. The attacking player is then labeled as a “Wanted Murderer.” This player is then marked on the map with a large bounty on their head, alerting every player in the vicinity.
No weapons or armor are lost upon death, though you do lose any collected crafting materials. If you truly do not want to join in the PVP experience you can turn it off entirely. Additionally, if a player keeps following you and harassing you, there are built-in options to block or ignore them.
Griefers, raiders, and everyone in between can join the battle when the Fallout 76 beta releases on October 23 on Xbox One. PC and PS4 players can join in a week later on October 29.
