The indie Sims sells 250,000 copies in its first eight hours

Because if there is one thing that Paralives is, for now, it is a success. It has sold 250,000 copies in its first eight hours, figures typical of major industry launches.

Paralives is a life simulation game in the style of The Sims developed by Alex Massé, an indie game designer known for developing games like Tuber Simulator for PewDiePie. His intention with Paralives is to create an evolution of the concept of The Sims where the Parafolk, the name of the characters we create, can inhabit an open world where they can create a complete life. This includes building a house, having a job, and getting involved in the life of their neighborhood, as well as the numerous events that can happen.

Although it was announced for early access release on December 8, 2025, it was delayed until May 25, 2026, because the game still needed more development time. Now, after its release, it seems that it was a wise decision. Not only has it sold 250,000 copies in its first eight hours, but it also has 3,540 reviews on Steam, most of them Very Positive, and the few negative ones are all about small bugs or lack of content. Something to be expected in early access.

With two years ahead in early access, there is still quite a bit of time before we see the full version of Paralives. But it seems that the game is already managing to stand out among its peers. Now we just have to see if Massé and his team can maintain the public’s interest during this time.

Inzoi, the highly anticipated life simulation title developed by Inzoi Studio and published by Krafton, has sold over a million copies in its first week, although it has not met the high expectations of genre fans.

Hyungjun ‘Kjun’ Kim, the studio director, acknowledged that the ambitions for the game were “too” high and that creating life simulation games has proven to be a greater challenge than he anticipated.

A post-factum start of sincerity

The game was released in early access, allowing players to act as beta testers. However, Kim admitted that this decision was due to the need to gather user feedback, although he is also aware that not all players will be satisfied with the initial experience.

“The game had many issues,” said Kim, a common phenomenon in early access launches. Since its release, the number of concurrent players on Steam has decreased significantly, raising concerns in the community.

Despite this situation, Inzoi Studio recently shared an anniversary message announcing plans for a new content map, improvements in mod support, and a user-generated content ecosystem. This reflects the studio’s intention to continue evolving the game and addressing the needs of its player base. Kim emphasized the importance of understanding what made The Sims so successful over the decades, suggesting that the path to excellence in the life simulation genre is more complicated than it seems.

While the team works on future improvements, the players continue to hope that Inzoi can fully meet their expectations and establish itself as a benchmark in the life simulation genre, a field where competition is fierce and comparisons are inevitable.

However, Kim has expressed her concern about her son’s lack of talent in this area, although the young man has started working on mods for InZOI.

It seems that talent is emerging

Recently, an update for InZOI was released, known as the “GTA 6 update,” which introduced a series of new features and elements to the game. This update has been well received by players, who have described it as a significant addition that expands the possibilities within the game’s virtual world. With elements ranging from cozy flower shops to car theft, the new update has excited fans, reinforcing InZOI’s competitiveness against other titles like The Sims 4.

Kim, during a Q&A session at Krafton’s office in Seoul, shared how his son, despite his apparent lack of talent, has been motivated to get involved in mod development. “He used to ask why there weren’t more life simulators to play together,” Kim commented, which led him to create InZOI to offer that family experience. Although their father-son relationship has been a source of laughter, it is clear that Kim feels a deep commitment to his son’s education and creativity.

Paralives delays its launch, but confirms that it will not make one of the critical mistakes of Inzoi

Paralives has confirmed a delay in its launch, initially scheduled for May 25, 2026. The news of this postponement has raised concerns among fans; however, to mitigate the impact of this wait, the Paralives team has presented 45 minutes of unedited gameplay that has sparked positive expectations about the depth of its simulation and the lives of the ‘paras’. Paralives has confirmed a delay in its release, initially scheduled for May 25, 2026. The news of this postponement has raised concerns among fans; however, to mitigate the impact of this wait, the Paralives team has presented 45 minutes of unedited gameplay that has sparked positive expectations about the depth of its simulation and the lives of the ‘paras’.

Wants to avoid what Inzoi did wrong

During the demonstration, it was shown how a single ‘para’ interacts in their small apartment and in the adjacent shopping plaza. Although this choice of setting may seem limiting, the developers have emphasized the focus on the depth of the simulation rather than the breadth of the environment. This aspect is crucial, especially after the criticisms of Inzoi, whose lifestyle was considered superficial and lacking in dynamism. The Paralives community has expressed hope that their title will avoid the same mistakes.

However, during the presentation, some errors were evident, such as ‘paras’ passing through walls and feature updates with missing numerical values, indicating that there is still work to be done before its official launch. Despite these inconveniences, the gameplay showcased a wide range of options that would allow players to guide the lives of their characters and develop their personal narrative, representing an evolution from the Inzoi experience.

Simulation players have varied expectations; some prefer open experiences, while others seek a genuine challenge. In terms of visual style, many seem to prefer the stylized aesthetic of Paralives in contrast to the hyperrealism of Inzoi. This visual aspect, along with the promise of a richer simulation, could be what drives Paralives to revitalize the life simulation genre.

Developed by Krafton, the game aims to provide experiences that exceed the expectations set by the EA saga, integrating hyper-realism features that have generated great interest among players, both new and veteran.

Inzoi does not meet the audience’s expectations

However, the initial reception has not been entirely positive, especially regarding the construction mode. Several players have criticized the complexity of this system, which is considered excessively difficult compared to the more accessible style of The Sims 4. One player, while trying to replicate a simple two-story house, reported that it took them nearly ninety minutes in Inzoi, compared to only forty minutes in The Sims 4. This has raised concerns about the usability and enjoyment of the building process.

The reported issues include the lack of a “sticking” system for walls, which leads to difficulties in connecting corners of different heights. Additionally, it has been noted that creating foundations requires the construction of a room that then must be removed, causing frustration among players. Complaints extend to overlapping conflicts between furniture, highlighting that, despite the game’s potential, it still faces significant challenges in its initial design.

Despite these criticisms, there are expectations that the developer will take the community’s feedback into consideration for improvements. While comparisons to The Sims 4 are inevitable, many players believe that Inzoi has the potential to evolve positively in the future. Over time, the game is expected to embark on a solid path, addressing the needs and preferences of its user base.

Recently, screenshots and a nearly six-minute video have leaked of what is alleged to be a developing Sims mobile game. This content shows basic gameplay along with an interface considered generic by many fans. The video was uploaded by a user who claims that the material corresponds to this year and was played on an Android device, aligning with a listing in the German Google Play Store that mentions a “City Life Game with Friends”.

EA is not managing The Sims well

The scarce information communicated by Electronic Arts regarding Project Rene and other Sims projects has generated frustration among the franchise’s followers. Although EA has confirmed that Project Rene will not be The Sims 5 and will be a cross-platform game, the lack of concrete details leaves players in uncertainty. Most of what is known about this title comes from old behind-the-scenes videos and investor presentations that have not been adequately communicated to the gaming community.

The features revealed in the leaks have received criticism, with many players complaining about the visual design and preliminary gameplay. Elements such as the use of a virtual joystick for navigation, the accumulation of simoleons, and interaction with other sims have not impressed fans. This lack of appeal is exacerbated by the general confusion over whether these leaks actually belong to Project Rene or if they are from a completely different project.

Meanwhile, a new competitor in the life simulation genre, Inzoi, has launched its early access and is managing communication more effectively than EA. The situation raises questions about the future direction of The Sims series, as fans continue to await official and clear information about the development of their favorite games.

The beginning of 2025 has not been favorable for NVIDIA, especially in the consumer sector. The RTX 50 series, which promised outstanding performance, is facing multiple technical issues. From significant limitations in the ROPS that affect its performance, to reported failures such as black screens and burnt connectors, the situation has led many to consider the launch of this series as one of the most discouraging for the company.

Nvidia keeps having issues

Despite the high prices compared to previous generations, the demand for RTX 50 graphics cards has encountered an additional obstacle: the lack of stock. This is compounded by the complications that have arisen in the RTX 30 and RTX 40 series, which are also affected by the software. The 572.xx drivers have caused crashes and performance issues, spreading among an increasing number of users who are demanding solutions.

Trendy reports from video game developers suggest that the latest versions of NVIDIA drivers are unreliable. In game notes for titles like inZoi and The First Berserker: Khazan, it is recommended to revert to previous versions, specifically to 572.83 for RTX 50 users and 566.36 for those with RTX 30 and RTX 40. This has led experts to advise the use of the DDU application to completely uninstall the problematic drivers before reverting to more stable versions.

In summary, while NVIDIA struggles to tackle the challenge of persistent technical issues with its new graphics cards, the market continues to deal with a usual shortage of products. The situation raises questions about how the launch of the RTX 50 will be remembered in the coming years, in a context where consumer confidence may be at risk.

The recent early access release of Inzoi has generated notable interest in the modding community, with special attention towards sexual content mods. Among them, a nudity mod stands out, currently in beta on Patreon, indicating a significant demand for this type of content among players. This phenomenon is not unexpected, considering the popularity of similar mods in other games, such as Wicked Whims for The Sims.

The most popular one had to be a little green, of course

One of the most popular mods so far is Remove Shower Blur, which allows players to see characters wrapped in towels during showers. This mod has reached 20,000 downloads in just a few days, demonstrating how quickly modders have adapted their creations to the new title. However, it is worth noting that disabling the blur effect does not provide naked textures per se, but only removes the enveloping opacity.

Despite the rapid development of these mods, Inzoi faces several technical issues, including bugs that affect gameplay, such as the one that causes family members to disappear after several marriages, or the one that limits the sexual orientation of the characters. These bugs could disrupt the functioning of the mods as new updates are released.

In the mod ecosystem, improvements are also observed that eliminate unwanted visual effects, questionable optimizations, and options to skip the startup sequences. The community is active, creating additional content that will surely evolve with the game in its early access phase. In summary, while Inzoi continues to be developed, modders are already ready to meet the players’ requests, creating a richer and more varied gaming experience.

This phenomenon has been evident with Hollow Knight: Silksong, which remained at the top of this ranking for years, but has recently been replaced by inZOI, a life simulator that will be available in early access starting March 28. This change in leadership indicates a growing interest in Krafton’s new title, known as a potential rival to The Sims, generating expectations for a monumental debut.

inZOI, a highly anticipated game by the community

Despite its recent decline, Team Cherry’s metroidvania, Silksong, has managed to capture the interest of millions of players over the years. However, this is not the first time this title has been overshadowed by other popular games. Recently, Monster Hunter Wilds also briefly captured the public’s attention, highlighting the dynamic nature of player desires.

In an interesting turn, the community of Silksong followers has gained new momentum after receiving recent mentions on prominent platforms. Xbox has included the title in its list of “upcoming releases” for its ID@Xbox program, dedicated to promoting indie experiences. Additionally, the official Silksong page on Steam has been updated with new images and a reference to NVIDIA GeForce Now, suggesting that the game’s development is ongoing and may be further along than some speculate.

With the high demand and anticipation similar to that generated by iconic titles like The Sims, Silksong could still surprise us with its highly anticipated release. Fans continue to await official news from Team Cherry, who will need to clarify the future of this longed-for game in the coming months.

The world of video games is getting ready to welcome InZoi, the Korean Sims that is creating so much anticipation. In this title, in addition to a multitude of options to customize your experience and life, players are offered no less than 16 unique types of death, each influenced by the user’s direct interaction with the environment and various everyday situations. The game director, Hyungjun Kjun Kim, revealed at a recent event that death is a central element of gameplay. In InZoi, life is full of risks. You can die from slipping in the bathroom or from eating spoiled food, Kim mentioned, according to PC Gamer.

Death as a part of life

In addition to these accidental deaths, InZoi introduces an unprecedented concept: the possibility of dying from a lack of social recognition. This gameplay mechanism reflects a critique of the quest for recognition in modern society. Kjun explained that a negative rumor that harms a character’s reputation could trigger a drastic decrease in their need for recognition, which could eventually prove fatal.

Among the multiple ways in which the characters, called Zois, can die are electrocutions while trying to repair electrical devices and being run over by vehicles. Although the game will allow players to enable drivable cars as part of an experimental test, most vehicles will move automatically to maintain a safe environment.

Likewise, the Zois that die with a bad reputation will be able to return as ghosts, which will affect the gameplay experience of the living characters. This reputation system promises to add an additional layer of strategy and depth to the title.

It is expected that InZoi will be available on Steam Early Access on March 28. After its release, players will receive free updates as part of a post-launch content roadmap, thus promising a commitment to the evolution of the game over time.
