The 3 Best Weapons in Fortnite

If you ever hope to achieve that elusive Victory Royale in Fortnite, simply running and hiding isn’t going to cut it. Sooner or later, when that storm wall closes in, you’re going to end up fighting someone. When that happens, you want to make sure you have the right tools for the job, and that means grabbing some guns. However, inventory space is limited, and the arsenal of weapons in Fortnite can make choosing what weapons to keep and what to leave behind seem daunting. Fret not; we’ve put together a list of the top three best weapons to have on hand so you can be confident when the bullets start flying.

1. Assault Rifle

Yes, that’s right. Not the SCAR, the normal, average Assault Rifle. So, why the humble assault rifle and not the venerable SCAR? The SCAR is good, yes, but also hard to find. Unless you’re doing some serious chest hunting or happen to stumble upon one on the body of a dead enemy, you’re far more likely to come across the Assault Rifle. Mastering this classic will put you at a clear advantage over those who bank on the SCAR’s superior stats to win. The Assault Rifle combines fully automatic fire with solid damage and accuracy. In a tight spot, you can hold down the trigger and loose a spray of bullets at your enemies, or take advantage of the gun’s accuracy to pick off enemies at range. The Assault Rifle is a solid all-around choice to keep on hand for a variety of combat scenarios, and should be a cornerstone of every player’s arsenal.

2. Tactical Shotgun

When things get up close and personal, nothing beats a shotgun, and when it comes to shotguns, the Tactical Shotgun reigns supreme. The debate surrounding Fortnite’s shotguns is contentious. The Pump Shotgun certainly has its own strengths, such as high damage and a longer range. However, when you have a split second to react after you turn the corner and run smack into an enemy, the Tactical Shotgun has a clear advantage. Range may be a good thing in some situations, but most scenarios which call for breaking out a shotgun will be in close quarters. The Tactical Shotgun’s high rate of fire allows for quick follow-up shots that will give you an edge in cramped spaces. A rapid fire barrage from the Tactical Shotgun at close range will cut through shields and drop an opponent in seconds.

3. Grenade Launcher

Though it does come with something of a learning curve, the Grenade Launcher offers clear advantages for those who can master this explosive addition to their arsenal. Rather than detonating on contact, grenades fired from this weapon will bounce off surfaces before detonating. Though this may seem like a drawback, a skilled player can use this feature to their advantage. Bouncing a grenade into an opponent’s fort can be the perfect way to deal with those pesky, dug-in players. Unlike its rival, the Rocket Launcher, the Grenade Launcher also offers a six-round magazine. Rather than having to worry about one carefully placed shot, you can inundate your enemy with grenades and watch the fireworks. Players that take the time to master this weapon’s quirks will find themselves with an indispensable addition to their arsenal.

Between gathering supplies, keeping an eye out for enemies, and staying ahead of the storm, the battlefield of Fortnite can be a chaotic place. Mastering the weapons on this list means you’ll have one less thing to worry about, and will make achieving your next Victory Royale that much easier.

Who is Hammond, the Next Overwatch Hero?

After a series of cryptic hints and teasers, Overwatch has finally revealed the identity of the game’s newest playable hero. Hammond, also known as Wrecking Ball, is the 28th hero added to the game, and he’s a hamster. Yes, that’s right, a hamster.

In a short reveal clip and origin story video released on June 28th, Hammond literally rolls into the game in a giant, gun-toting mech reminiscent of a hamster ball. So, what else do we know about this mysterious but well-armed rodent?

We know that Hammond was a test subject at the Horizon Lunar Colony, the same scientific program that endowed Winston with his advanced intelligence. However, the experiment came to an end when the intelligent gorillas rebelled, killing the scientists in charge. Winston and another test subject, presumably Hammond, escaped to Earth. Hammond’s role in the uprising remains unclear. Up to this point, no indication was given that Horizon used anything but gorillas as subjects, leading many to conclude that Hammond would be a gorilla, like Winston.

Hammond’s origin story trailer reveals that he built the mech suit, which he used to escape the Lunar Colony uprising. He crash-landed in Junkertown in the Australian Outback, where it seems that he used his mech suit to fight in arena battles of some kind. This led him to fame and fortune, and is also how he acquired the “Wrecking Ball” nickname.

In this developer update video, Game Director Jeff Kaplan reveals more details about Hammond’s class and play style.

Hammond is a Tank, with his most notable ability being the ball mode showcased in the trailer. A grappling hook will allow him to swing around the map rapidly and slam down onto enemies from above. Like other tanks, Wrecking Ball has a unique shield ability that increases according to the number of enemies surrounding him, encouraging players to charge into clustered enemies and play more offensively. Finally, his ultimate is a barrage of mines that can be launched in a surrounding area, with predictably explosive results.

All these details indicate a new Tank aimed at more aggressive players, and Wrecking Ball’s inclusion in the Overwatch roster should lead to some interesting changes to how the game is played.

Elder Scrolls 6: What we know so far

Since Todd Howard’s big announcement at this year’s E3, Bethesda fans have been buzzing about the official announcement of an Elder Scrolls 6. The nature of Bethesda Softworks (and really any triple-A game company) is to be very hush-hush. As such, the information available to the general public about Elder Scrolls 6 is scant, consisting largely of guesswork and speculation. So we’ll give you the facts first, then dive into the most popular theories.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x_yG2hBZMl0

So exactly how much do we know for certain? At this juncture, not a whole lot. In 2016, Bethesda outright claimed that they were not even working on the game. That much has been the company’s stance on the subject the past few years. “I could sit here and explain the game to you,” said Howard in a 2016 interview, “and you would say, ‘That sounds like you don’t even have the technology — how long is that going to take?’ And so it’s something that’s going to take a lot of time, what we have in mind for that game.”

https://www.nytimes.com/2011/11/26/arts/video-games/the-elder-scrolls-v-skyrim-video-game-review.html

So When is it Going to be Released?

At E3, Todd Howard explained that both of their newest projects, Fallout 76 and Starfield, were currently playable, while the new Elder Scrolls game was still in pre-production. Considering that Fallout 76 is scheduled to be released November 2018 and that Starfield’s release date has not yet been announced, we’re likely not going to be getting Elder Scrolls 6 until late 2019 at the very earliest. We’re disappointed, too.

While Bethesda continues to remain tight-lipped regarding where the game will take place, excited fans have already begun voraciously dissecting all they can from the announcement trailer. While nothing has been confirmed, there are several clues we can glean here.

First and foremost, the broad sweeping landscape shots pretty much confirm the expectation that this title will be another sprawling open world sandbox of a game, the genre that Bethesda Softworks is known for, particularly when it comes to the Elder Scrolls. The topography of the trailer has also lent some insight as to where the next installment might take place: The more stalwart fans excitedly point out the coastline in the distance and the crater that may be Azura’s Crossing, both of which hint that we may be in the High Rock or Hammerfell regions.

As little as is known about the game’s location, less still is known about the story, core gameplay or the RPG elements, but given how little time has passed since E3, we can only anticipate that more information will be made public as the year goes on and Bethesda draws closer to their release for the new Fallout and Starfield.

What About Mod Support?

Considering Todd Howard’s deep appreciation for the growing community of actively modding fans, as well as the deliberate inclusion of modded content readily accessible for Skyrim: Special Edition on both the PC and Xbox 1, it seems safe to say that the game will certainly see plenty of modded content. Bethesda has even said the yet-to-be-released Fallout 76 will be moddable as well.

We, for one, are looking forward to a great many playthroughs of Elder Scrolls 6 with or without the addition of community mods (but mostly with them)!

We promise you’ll have fun.

Why you should be playing Neverwinter

Dungeons & Dragons defined the role-playing game as we know it today. The fantasy setting, character progression, and story-driven quests have delighted millions of players around the world, inspiring a host of movies, novels, and video games.

One of those games is Neverwinter: a story-driven, action MMORPG set in the Dungeons & Dragons universe. Unlike most MMORPGs, Neverwinter is entirely free to play, with no forced micro-transactions or subscription fees to complete the game’s many quests. With over 15 millions players already, it’s the perfect choice for novice and seasoned adventurers alike.

Neverwinter expands upon the rules laid out in the fourth edition of Dungeons & Dragons, picking up after the fall of the titular city as described in the first book in the Neverwinter Saga, Gauntlgrym. The evil Lich Queen Valindra wants to destroy Neverwinter forever, fomenting discord between the survivors that’s threatening to become all-out war. It’s up to you and your chosen companions to defeat Valindra and save Neverwinter from annihilation.

Neverwinter thrusts you into a massive world of over 35 questing zones, filled with bloodthirsty monsters, powerful bosses, and hordes of the undead. You’ll need the best team you can assemble from Neverwinter’s thirteen races and eight character classes. Should you be an Elven Wizard or a Dragonborn Rogue? Neverwinter lets you become the hero you’ve always wanted to be – just make sure you recruit a healer so your quest doesn’t end too soon.

Neverwinter’s gameplay engine is what you’d expect from a AAA MMORPG. The graphics are immersive, gameplay is fluid, and the action-RPG combat will get your palms sweaty. Every fight generates action points which you can use to perform special abilities, but you’ll need to be quick and accurate to take down your enemies – and don’t forget to bring lots of health potions.

Once you’ve thwarted Valindra’s plans for good, your journey certainly isn’t over. Neverwinter has an ever-growing number of free quests, campaigns, and dungeons. Campaigns are particularly fun, taking you to far-flung places where you’ll meet new characters and fight new enemies. Each campaign has a tree-like structure and to ascend you must complete each section in a specific order, whether that’s defeating a monster, recovering a special item, or clearing a dungeon.

Though unlikely, if questing every gets boring, you can create your own in Neverwinter’s Foundry. Community quests can be fun to do, though sometimes a tad frustrating – us gamers have a rather twisted sense of humour.

Neverwinter is available on PC, XBOX One, and PS4, making it one of the most accessible MMORPGs around. We’re awed by how much there is to do, and the developers seem committed to releasing new content in the future. While you can speed up your progress by buying gear, companions, or loot, you don’t have to, which is a pretty amazing boast for such a premium title.

If you’re a fan of Dungeons & Dragons, want a classic RPG with modern gameplay mechanics, or are simply bored with shooting games like Fortnite, give Neverwinter a try. You never know – you could be just the right kind of hero Neverwinter needs.

4 tricks to survive in Warface

Who would have thought that four years after its release, Warface would be living its moment of glory? The free video game from Crytek hasn’t stopped gaining faithful followers, thanks to its seamless production and especially because you can download it for free. If you’re starting the adventure of playing this game, pay attention to these four tricks to survive on Warface.

Work as a team

This is key: this video game is designed for teamwork. If you don’t have a group of friends to play with, try to go along with the rest of the players. The more you’re part of the pack, the better. The concept of all online games is to have good communication among users. If you go alone on the map, you run the risk of not surviving.

Look up

This trick is for Warface… and any first-person shooter. In general, players usually shoot at middle or low height. But you should try to position the cursor at middle or high height. Why? A headshot will always be more lethal than the torso, or, you know, the foot.

Customize your weapon

All first-person action games have dozens of weapons to choose from. Each one works in a specific way, so our third trick is simply trying them all until you find the one that suits you. For example, rifles are best for closed spaces, while sniper rifles work great for long distances. Likewise, don’t forget about assault rifles, which are best for mid-range combat.

Learn the map

Our last trick is key: learn the map well. In this type of game, the same scenery is usually repeated over and over again. So, find those dead spots where you know you can ambush and kill your enemies.

On that note, there’s something else important to keep in mind: know how to play using the radar. Don’t stay somewhere if your allies are on the other side of the mini-map. It’s pretty likely that an enemy will come up behind you and strike.

Jurassic World Evolution: a successful consumer management game – our review

I have always dreamt of being John Hammond and going on a crazy spending spree. (“We spared no expense.”)

With Jurassic World Evolution, that dream can now come true! The game didn’t have the best of timing, as it had to be released in the middle of the E3 expo, so as to coincide with the premiere of “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.” Nevertheless, with Frontier Developments at the helm, it was inevitable that the game would attract considerable attention, especially after the success of Planet Coaster. The combination of a theme park construction and management game and the “Jurassic Park” universe is the stuff dreams are made of! The only problem is that the latter has a tendency to suffer by comparison.

Forget about Planet Coaster

Let’s begin by making one thing clear: don’t expect to find another Planet Coaster in Jurassic World Evolution. If Planet Coaster allowed users to build incredible creations from scratch, Jurassic World Evolution rivals that with the inventive objects available in the game, as well as being much more interactive, and much less orientated towards creation. The same is true on the management side, as the game´s crowd system has been simplified, although that isn’t really important, because by sacrificing these aspects which are so specific to Planet Coaster, JWE has gained something even more invaluable: the gameplay is really easy to grasp.

Simple gameplay, yet still full of interesting details

I have spent a lot of time playing Planet Coaster, and I have to admit that starting new games is difficult, as you have to waste lots of time with the learning curve. JWE has the advantage of being fun even in the first few minutes of play, and the game mechanics are really easy to get used to, whether that be for building the park or sending archaeologists abroad to collect and extract the DNA which will be used to create different types of dinosaurs. The more intricate details of the game are equally as easy to pick up, such as making sure our dinosaurs can’t escape by enclosing the arena with electric fencing or the different services on offer to visitors. The terraforming tools remain basic yet effective.

Too easy?

Simple gameplay and easy mechanics doesn´t necessarily mean the game is easy. With 5 different islands to manage, the game becomes increasingly difficult and taking care of the dinosaurs, looking out for storms, tornadoes, power-cuts, or sabotages in the three different game factions makes conquering the gameplay towards the end all the more interesting. Completing missions to gain the loyalty of the three factions offers a small bonus point. The only big criticism I have with JWE is that once you understand how it works, you end up playing each new island using the same strategy that helped you conquer the previous ones. Despite that, the pleasure of seeing your Triceratops, Raptors, T-Rex or Diplodocus leave their enclosure never gets old.

Clever game

It is clear that Jurassic World Evolution has been designed as a consumer management game. Smooth, free of overly complex gameplay elements, offering the possibility to control the Jeep or the staff helicopter by yourself, or undertake many other interactive activities. The game needed to please everyone, staying true to the Jurassic Park license, and the end result not only boasts amazing graphics but also leaves you wanting more, going back to play again and again, even after this first test review was written. It might sound stupid, but when you have to test several different games, you often end up abandoning the one you´re playing to start the other, but I know that this won’t happen with JWE.

What did E3 tell us about the future of Fortnite?

Everybody knew that Fortnite would be announced for the Nintendo Switch at E3, and nobody was disappointed when it was. Fortnite on the Switch is already available as free download from the Nintendo eShop and players have already started playing the world’s most popular game.

Something else that we’ve learned over the last few days is that Fortnite now has over 125 million players. That vast number is even more incredible considering the game has only been out for less than a year. Incredibly, the free-to-play Battle Royale version of Fortnite has only been available since September.

Fortnite’s huge numbers come from the fact that it is a true free-to-play experience. Paid extras, like skins to dress up your avatar and dance moves to emote with don’t give players an unfair advantage. Another factor will be the fact that Fortnite is available on most major platforms including iOS. Fortnite’s release on the Switch means that Android owners are the only people who can’t play Fortnite. Epic Games say they are looking at a summer release for an Android version of Fortnite so we can expect to see Fortnite player numbers swell even further as, according to Google, there are over 2 billion active Android phones in the world.

Fortnite: Battle Royale Play Now

Some bad news for Fortnite fans, however, is that Sony has decided to block cross-platform play between PS4 and Switch. This means players won’t be able to continue their Fortnite sessions on the fly, using their Switch, if they began on the PS4. More disturbingly, Fortnite accounts, with Epic Games, linked to the PlayStation Network (PSN) can’t be accessed from the Switch. Players on the Switch won’t have access to any of the skins or emotes they’ve accrued using their PSN-linked Epic accounts. It has been confirmed though that Fortnite cross-platform play will be possible between Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC, and Mobile. Quite rightly, Fortnite fans aren’t happy about Sony’s position here.

The last big bit of Fortnite news from the last couple of days comes in the form the first ever Fortnite World Cup. Qualifiers will begin in the Fall, with the big competition taking place towards the end of 2019. There will be no franchises or teams for sale with the action open to anyone, which means you can enter. With a prize pool of $100 million, it could be a good time to start practicing and honing your skills. Epic said:

“What about the specifics? The $100,000,000 will be split between many events at different levels of competition around the globe. Fortnite World Cup play will focus on Solos and Duos, but there’ll be plenty of opportunities to squad-up in competition, too… Rules, Player Code of Conduct, specifics about platforms and Fall 2018 schedule are on the way. If you’re interested in learning more about Fortnite competitive play sign up…”

To sign up for the world cup, go to Epic’s blog by clicking here.

Lots of big Fortnite news then. Some good, some bad, but one thing is clear Fortnite is going to keep getting bigger and bigger for some time yet. Which story do you think is the most exciting? Let us know in the comments below.

Alexa, fatally harm mud crabs…

Boom! E3 has kicked off, and we’ve already been bombarded with big announcements about the biggest video game franchises. As always with E3, however, we’ve been getting some of the wall announcements straight out of left-field. The best announcement so-far has to have come from Bethesda who’ve poked fun at themselves in an ingenious way.

It has been a running joke for years now, that Bethesda has stopped making new games, instead concentrating on porting the hugely popular RPG Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim to different platforms. As well as PC, PS3, PS4, and Nintendo Switch versions gamers have been mocking up fake versions of Skyrim for everything from your smart kettle to a pipboy from Bethesda’s other popular RPG series, Fallout. With a host of new games announced including two new Elder Scrolls, Fallout, and a brand new franchise called Starfield; Bethesda was in a strong position to poke fun at their recent Skyrim porting history. That’s right, there is a brand new version of Skyrim available, and you can play it on Amazon Alexa.

With the trailer announcing other versions for your etch-a-sketch, Motorola pager, and a Samsung smart fridge it seemed to be a joke announcement. In fact, Skyrim on Alexa is very real, and you can play it right now. Repeat after me, “Alexa, open Skyrim.” Now go enjoy the adventure.

How to download and play Sims 4 multiplayer

The Sims is one of the most fascinating video games out there. It’s almost two decades old and with each new release, it takes another step up. However, despite these updates, the big changes almost always come from user community, which creates excellent mods to get more out of the game. Today, we’re putting on our work boots and teaching you how to download and play Sims 4 multiplayer.

The Sims 4 Download Now
7

Step by step

The first step is simple: download the mod. Do it here, unzip it and drag the folder ts4multiplayer-alpha1 to the location where the mods are.

Once the previous step is done, download Hamachi, the program necessary for creating the virtual network that we’re going to use to play. Open the software and click on “Create a new network.” Add a name and password and write it all down, since you’ll have to send the details to your friend (and they’ll need to follow all the same processes you did).

Hamachi Download Free
7

Let’s go to the server now. Type in the following path: Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Mods\ts4multiplayer-alpha1\Scripts\ts4mp\core. If you’re going to make the server, create a .txt file called “server.txt” (without quotation marks). Or, if you’re going to connect to your friend’s account, create a .txt file called “client.txt.” So far, so good, right? Now things get a little more complicated.

Go to Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Mods\ts4multiplayer-alpha1\Scripts\ts4mp\configs and look for the file “server_config.py.” You need to open it. Most likely, it won’t let you, so click right and select “open with Notepad.” There, look for two clear sections. The first is called “Host,” where you have to enter a numeric code that appears next to the Hamachi power button (consisting of four series XX.XX.XX.XX). The second is called “Port” and it’s as easy as typing “9999.” Both you and your friend must follow this process, regardless of whether you’re the client or the server.

Don’t quit yet! We’re almost there. If you’re going to act as the server, go to Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Mods\ts4multiplayer-alpha1\Scripts\ts4mp\core and look for a file called “multiplayer_server.py.” Open it with Notepad and go to the “self.host” section. There, type in the Hamachi address from the previous point (with the quotation marks this time) and for the “self.port” type in “9999.

Ta-da, now you’re good to g!. Now just create a game with two Sims (if you’re going to act as the server) and send the saved file to your friend (the games are saved in the folder “Saves” within “The Sims 4”). First, load the file acting as the server and then the client. Now each user will have a Sim within that game.

The client may have issues when selecting a character. If this occurs, whoever makes the server just has to enter the following command: add_client_sims.

The process may seem a little tedious, but with some patience, you’ll get it working.
